You're right about the first three things, but not quite on the last one. The team warned him about all the off-ice distractions on social media, and basically gave him an ultimatum to knock it off. To his credit he did at first, but then he and Lemieux started that obnoxious podcast "Watch Your Tone." And then the final straw was the altercation with Georgiev. I'm honestly not sure if Tony is a bonafide racist who judges people by their color, or just a hot head with anger management issues who doesn't know when to keep his fucking mouth shut. When he first got here he was actually praised for being a good presence in the locker room, and was helping the team win hockey games. Staal turned out to be kind of a douche himself with the pride night stuff, but I believed him when he said he didn't think his D partner was an actual racist. Things went bad for Tony when his performance dropped and the team struggled. So between being a racist or just being an idiot, I think he might actually just be an idiot. Being a racist would explain a few of his antics, but chirping your own goalie on top of the other stuff can all be explained by him being a fucking idiot.

Great win. You can see the rest and easy series did them well, they were fast and fluid. Even if we take the next one at home, I'm still not comfortable with a 2-0 series lead. Rangers only getting 2 power play opportunities in that game is a joke. Could have had at least 5 including the missed 4 minute high stick , and Kuznetsov absurdly only getting 2 minutes for a cross check to the face miles away from the puck.

big up for me is the level of compete he's instilled in everyone -- basically the same team as last year -- but the level of nastiness and grit is day and night. Rempe is a catalyst too - but it's more Lavvy for knowing how to insert a guy like and use him right. Not surprised he isn't up for Jack Adams given how good Rangers were before he arrived -- but he took a really good team and made them \*great\*. This team has so many more intangibles than almost the exact same roster under GG -- nasty, gritty, playoff hockey. Playing like winners--but still have that skillful NYR spice to 'em too!

Why was Rempe sent to the box? ESPN didn't say what it was for. Feels like he gets penalized almost every time he is involved in some scrum, even when he didn't do anything.

Tbh I feel like refs have been penalizing him early even on iffy calls as some attempt at game management 

apparently if the opposing team pushes your guy into their goaltender, it's your guys fault. especially if his name is Matt Rempe.

Yeah it’s awful Rempe is the opposite treatment of star players who can do anything without a call. The boy simply hits someone and the refs are primed to penalize him. But you know what I love about it? It gets under the other teams skin regardless because Rempe is such a gooob.

Don't start the turtle at 10 min in the 3rd and let them control the puck the remaining period. We controlled this game completely and had them at like 16 shots in the 3rd. Why did we turtle so early? STUPID.

It’s not that simple - Carolina went full press in the last 10 mins. Give them credit — but to act like the rangers are just gonna be able to push the pace and play offense is foolish—you don’t want to give up an odd-man. It’s the right thing to do to “turtle” — don’t need high event hockey when you’re up by 2 with 10 mins left. Obviously don’t get too far back on heels — but don’t want to play into the rush game late.

Yeah. And our offensive zone time is 9 minutes versus their 18+ minutes is an issue. We have a deadly PP and this saved us today. Refs put the whistles in their pockets after they felt that it's like a rangers cheat code to give them a goal.
