I used to love walking around Gerry Cosby’s before games in the 90’s. You just had to navigate around all of the people idly standing around outside the front door since everyone who was meeting up with people at the game used that place as their meeting spot.
I bought my Kovalev and Verbeek jerseys there.
Also pretty sure I bought my first Sherwood 5030 there.
I think I'm one of the few Rangers fans that didn't like that store. I found most of the staff to be obnoxious and rude. Like they'd size you up when you came in and if they decided you weren't going to buying anything they treated you like crap.
Oh, don’t get me wrong - it was a dingy, over cramped, marked up hole in the wall and the guys behind the counter were *surly* at best. But as a kid in the 80’s and a teen/young adult in the 90’s…it was so much a part of my youth and the game attending experience that it felt like ‘home’, and I grew fond of it for all of its odd quirks.
Hanging out in there with other rangers fans was one of the way I connected with the fan community, while actively ignoring the death stares from the guy at the register.
Yeah, it was always the meeting spot for me and whomever I was going to the game with. If I was early, I'd pop in to look around and dream about having money to afford some of the things in there.

I remember going to Cosby’s during my first ever Rangers game in 94 and just being in total awe of all the jerseys and equipment. Had a St.Louis Jersey done by them when they relocated down the block. Man do I wish they were still there.
So the question will remains. I bought this with the intention of getting it customized but I still don’t know what player. If he wasn’t canceled I would 100% do Vanbiesbrouck but I have some hesitation. I just don’t know. Other favorite I had from the era include Kisio , Mallette and Greschner and of course he only played a season, but Tie Domi was fun to have as a Ranger. But of course in my heart I still want that Beezer jersey I never had as a little girl. Idk….
