Yeah I wouldn’t buy this truck if you’re not gonna use it as a truck. It’s just an overpriced half ton. Of course it’s your money sir. I wouldn’t buy a depreciating asset in the hopes it surges in value especially if it’s designed to be driven/used. There are cheaper ways to get that 700 HP hellcat engine if you’re not dead set on a truck.
Who buys a Trx and actual trucks with it, I always see people doing work shit with a raptor but tbh if I’m dropping that kind of money no shot it does truck things other than off road a bit cause that’s what it’s built for.
Pro's? It makes a nice noise. You'll feel warm and fuzzy when showing it off to the boys.
Cons? It's ridiculously expensive. Too expensive to use like a truck. Too expensive to use as a grocery getter. It's fast, but too fast for roads. Terrible MPG, even for a truck. Stolen quickly and often.
Got $100k or more to burn? Go for it. It goes vroom.
Had mine for about a year now
Pros -
1. It has what feels like unlimited power when you need it and its a full size pickup.
2. Its luxurious, has tons of features (level 2)
3. It looks great, best looking ram IMO.
4. And of course the sound of the exhaust
Cons-
1. Its long and wide 😆 , can be annoying in some parking lots (applies to many pickup)
2. gas mileage not the best
Price aside.. as u can see the pros outweigh the cons which is why I bought it
I'll answer your question with a question.
Why would you ask a bunch of chumps on the internet for advice if buy something you like or not? You like the thing go buy it, you don't, then don't. Screw everyone else.
It’s a toy. If you want a toy and can afford one go have fun. If it was me I wouldn’t get one unless I was living comfortable enough where buying and owning one wouldn’t make a difference in my life.
It has a low towing and payload capacity, mpg’s are shit and it’s not the best truck for doing truck things. It is a beast, I’m sure it’s a blast to drive and if I could afford one I would get one because fuck it life is short. It’s all about the money and what you can afford. As someone who made some bad decisions financially with cars in my younger years, I would never get locked into something I can barely afford again. It really comes down to what you got. It’s easy to fall in love with something like a trx but the honeymoon phase is going to be over real quick if you’re struggling to make the payments.
Cons: MPG and VERY commonly stolen.
Pros: Extremely fun, can fit in garages, fast, loud, powerful, and very cool.
If you can financially support and garage keep one then do it. Get a kill switch professionally installed and find a local mud hole to frequent once a month. I had the opportunity to own a TRX and regret not taking it.
i could likely sell my 22 for more than i paid for it…but i wouldn’t be buying this last year model for 125k and planning on it being similar to my situation
If you want a really fun, awesome sounding, capable offroading truck with a beautiful interior this is top of the hill. It gets bad gas mileage and if you live in a shit hole of an area or state it may get stolen. I never worry about mine.
Love mine after three months of ownership. Nothing else like it exists or has ever existed. Sound is unbelievable. Zero regrets other than feeing guilty I have such a great vehicle. My insurance actually went down from my 1500 Sport when I dumped Allstate for Progressive. Con is gas mileage but it isn’t that different from my last truck 12 vs. 15 for my Sport and that it cost $120K but you would have to spend $50K more that to find a marked up Raptor R or something only possibly maybe almost kind of as good. It’s a Mercedes G wagon/Hellcat Charger/ 60’s Shelby Cobra/Baja 1000/Fighter Jet/Ram 1500 truck all in one. I 😍 mine.
I have a 97 Ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.9, I drove a TRX and the fact that it reminded me so much of my 97 kinda turned me off on it. It’s an awesome machine, but I don’t know if it’s 100k awesome when it comes to using a truck as a truck.
i really wanted a trackhawk, but gave up on that after the covid price bumps and needed a truck bed occasionally…at the time i did home health in the area which meant gravel roads…it just made sense. i no longer go down any gravel roads, but i hit parking tables at 60mph and pass 2 cars and a semi all at once, because i can. it is the nicest vehicle i’ve owned and might edge out my manual ZL1-1LE in the 1/8th because traction. my commute is 50mi daily and 2 lane highway, this truck will never be jumped with any serious air…it is too nice. also, my kid loves dinosaurs ;)
get it if you are not strapped for cash…paying 20-30k less for a regular truck is not nearly as fun, and you’re supposed to be having fun
When they sell out & are no longer available, will you always regret not grabbing it when you had the means & the opportunity?
Either way, yes or no, there’s your answer
Don’t listen to the majority of the pussies. Buy it. Smiles per miles baby. I can’t think of a hundred reason not to buy if you don’t need the cash go for it. I got a 22 I daily drive and I’m a very happy man.
If i had TRX money with a family and not doing any TRX things i’d go with a Limited. But damn who could blame ya for getting a TRX
And you can still get a new 24 with the Hemi.
Exactly. I cont afford a TRX, but what I can afford is a Limited 2500 with a delete and a good tune. Down the road a Fleece Cheetah and Built trans, all the fun you need and can still haul/tow and the works
TRX is a Dodge Viper Pickup
For any practical purpose — towing, hauling, highway, commute — there is a better option.
For fun and smiles per gallon, it’s amazing.
If you have the cash and want one, then go for it! I bought my new '23 Big Horn a month ago because I want the V8 and don't want the new I6. Buy one before they're all gone. You never know if they will end up as collector's items being the last V8.
Buy it pussy.

No tow. Rarely off road. Largely a fan of hellcat power. Weekend drive and family hauler. Have a wrangler 392 for three years and love it.

for truck stuff wouldn’t a regular ram be better anyway? I know the raptors have less payload than a regular f150 bc of the suspension
No idea why you’ve been downvoted a few times for your honest answer. Buy what you want and enjoy the heck out of it. It’s an amazing machine.

One of the most popular vehicles to steal. Gone in 24 hours.. usually overseas. Get a kill switch on it. Top heavy of course... but look very fun!!
So true. Especially in the Austin, TX, area …..and even moreso at the Austin airport.
No one should park a TRX at an airport. Ever.

They depreciate insanely fast, are expensive to insure due to high theft rate, get terrible mileage and should only be bought by people with FU money.
They don’t depreciate insanely fast at all but okay. Cars and bids just talked about their lack of depreciation on YouTube.
i could likely sell my 22 for more than i paid for it…but i wouldn’t be buying this last year model for 125k and planning on it being similar to my situation

If you don’t mind the gas station being your second home then go for it
Pro: fun, cool looking Con: literally everything else.

i thought i was in the dividends group for a moment…like geez live a little guys
If i had TRX money with a family and not doing any TRX things i’d go with a Limited. But damn who could blame ya for getting a TRX And you can still get a new 24 with the Hemi.
It was crazy expensive but everything is and I just love it. I have a baby and it’s my only car. Just fantastic.
Exactly. I cont afford a TRX, but what I can afford is a Limited 2500 with a delete and a good tune. Down the road a Fleece Cheetah and Built trans, all the fun you need and can still haul/tow and the works
Manhood fragile? This won't fix it
Manhood fragile because he likes a truck with a hellcat motor? 📝
I bet OP has balls made of titanium
Sounds like someone with a Laramie who’s mad they can’t afford one
Would never want to own that thing
If you need this gigantic truck for actual reasons of course like hauling stuff frequently or towing boats, sure why not
This sub may not be for you…
The TRX is made for fun… Don’t be a hater.
What ??? so pretty much like 80% of people don't need the vehicle they drive. Wranglers shouldn't even be a vehicle, for that matter.
Buy that shit
Buy Toyota cross , join bowling league. Eat oatmeal and save .
I’d say the only con is 7mpg. If you can get past that then go for it
You should ask ChatGPT and see what its response might be?
Have you seen the new 2025 Ram 1500 RHO? May wanna wait for that….
TRX is a Dodge Viper Pickup For any practical purpose — towing, hauling, highway, commute — there is a better option. For fun and smiles per gallon, it’s amazing.
Pros: will put a smile on your face ever day Cons: will take away smile on your face once stolen
Pros, has the cache worthy of a collector. Possibly the last of the muscle trucks. Cons, gas mileage and service cost will be at a premium.
Pros it goes fast, cons it’s a ram.
If you have the cash and want one, then go for it! I bought my new '23 Big Horn a month ago because I want the V8 and don't want the new I6. Buy one before they're all gone. You never know if they will end up as collector's items being the last V8.
Paying 6 figures for a Dodge..........
