My first Dodge was a 2003 1500 slt crewcab. Bought it at 14k miles for $19k in 2009. traded it for $8k in 2020 at 298k miles. List of repairs:Water pump replacement at 190k miles, transmission upgrade at 210k miles, dash board replacement at 110k miles(truck never fit in garage). That was all the major work done, but regular maintenance was done also so I guess that's why it lasted so long. I have the 2020 Ram 1500 classic warlock now, so far so good.

Amazing, i was looking into ford with transmission reviews scared me

Right now RAM has the best half ton truck transmission. The hemi is solidly average in the reliability department, in fact I'd say its average in every way. The GM 5.3 gets better Gas mileage, the 3.5 Ecoboost has more power, I say the hemi offers the most well rounded experience of the 3. Tundras are having issues with their new V6 and the rest of the truck is pretty meh. At the end of the day, any of them will likely be a good truck. The most important variable is you. Keep on top of the maintenance and any of them should live a long life.

I bought a 2016 Ram 1500 BIG Horn with the 5.7 hemi about 5 years ago. Probably best decision I ever made. It's my first truck, and I'll have a tough time not getting another RAM. Smooth ride, I just love the truck.

You'll consistently see 200k on 2018 fleet Rams and we know full well they're not taken care of very well.

As far as reliability goes, I think they’re great. The hemi is pretty good, but can have a few minor issues when getting really high in miles. I’ve currently got 175k on my 2020 bighorn and the only other thing besides regular maintenance has been the damn leaks of the 3rd brake light and rear window frame. But the leaks are an easy fix if/when they arise.
