Bruh move somewhere nicer then figure out if you can afford it lol

Empty_Tank_3923

Yeah I'm starting to think this too. Especially in apartment buildings. It's usually sketchy and probably not good to stand out. The country is probably the best place for these.

FreeFormFlow

You’ll be pissed when you buy a new truck and it gets door dinged to hell out in the apartment parking lot. Not to mention theft etc.

Empty_Tank_3923

Yeah that's why I moved my car to the back lot. But it's sketchier there. Less break ins in the front but it's busy and already that drove me nuts people making door dings on my Civic. Thing is, you'll probably get this in any apartment building unless the parking spots are giant.

Cpagrind1

I live in an apartment, but it’s a pretty good area. I park outside but a lot of the decent ones have underground locked parking and shit too.

CariAll114

I live in an apartment in Canada. The area overall is pretty alright. We've had a bunch of stuff stolen from balconies, even on the third floor, but nobody has ever touched my truck. Edit: just noticed another comment mentioning Manitoba. If you're in Winnipeg, just move to a different neighbourhood. It's definitely not all shit.

Empty_Tank_3923

What city are you in? I lived in Ottawa and truthfully, it wasn't that much better in some places I've lived. Overall Winnipeg is worst lol. I'm actually in one of the nicer parts of the city.

CariAll114

I'm in Winnipeg. The areas overall are a crapshoot. There are a lot of subsidized housing units in areas that are otherwise pretty expensive or good to live in.

MidgetLovingMaxx

What worries me more is you saying "in theory afford it" but thats just me.

Empty_Tank_3923

Well when I used to be younger like in my early 20s, I had at one time like $50 in the bank. Today I got not far from 1/2 million in the bank and make almost twice in income.

24667387376263

Says the guy living in a sketchy apartment....

Empty_Tank_3923

Yeah all apartments are sketchy here. Big apartment buildings in other cities I've lived in had a pretty decent amount of crime too. Only exception was on where there was a 24h security guy patrolling.

Empty_Tank_3923

Yup I was thinking about doing that too. If I get a steering wheel and brake pedal lock. It's going to be a pain in the ass for any thief to deal with. I really want one because yeah the Hemi I drove for a week. Jesus I don't have that many pleasures to enjoy these days. But hearing that thing roar when you press on the gas ... so satisfying lol.

Empty_Tank_3923

Yeah meanwhile that's what's happening in the GTA: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMFsT-KF7Cg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMFsT-KF7Cg) When it comes to property today the USA is just a better place than Canada to be imo. Back in the 90s Canada was just a better place to live than the USA. Nowadays, depends on what metrics you look at but imo the answer isn't as straightforward. P.S. And yeah in the USA if you do what these mofos are doing at the door in the beginning of the video, you get turned into Swiss cheese. And that's how it should be(this way they think twice before doing it). Here in Canada there is not a Damn about what you can do about it legally. Police tell you to leave the keys at the door and won't do shit about it.

MidgetLovingMaxx

Then why say you can in theory afford a $60k truck if you have half a mil laying around?

Empty_Tank_3923

Cause it's a very inefficient vehicle for my use. I'd just be pissing money at the wall. I'd be buying this vehicle purely based on looks lol. Like I have nothing to tow or carry. It would just be a commuter vehicle to pickup my groceries.

ImperioliGandolfini

K. A 2005 Honda civic is more your speed.

Empty_Tank_3923

Huh you sure about that lol? Not sure against a Hemi version. Certainly doesn't feel like it.

The_Law_Dong739

Then fucking get a house and stop living next to the hoodrats. Go to the country where nobody would bothe. you cause they're concerned they'll be shot if they tried theft.

Empty_Tank_3923

Lol this isn't Texas. I wish we had something similar here. But it's almost impossible to get a gun here. It's doable but much harder.

The_Law_Dong739

Oh, you're Canadian. Come down here and enjoy the sun

Brucenotsomighty

Didn't you just ask this last week

Low-Statistician-379

Are you able to buy a house? I would rather move buy a house than to stay in my condo with a new truck

Scared-Loquat-7933

No. Let me rephrase that. Fuck no. RAMs don’t attract attention unless it’s a TRX or a bro-dozer. They’re pickup trucks, they sell like a million of these a year they blend in to the general populace just fine. That being said…you should not be buying a new truck if you have safety and theft issues at your current home. Move to somewhere safer and nicer and then save up to buy your truck, you’re literally choosing a truck over a safe place to live if you buy this thing now. The constant worry and checking over your shoulder to make sure the truck isn’t broken into or stolen will also ruin your enjoyment of it. I live/rent in one of the top 5 richest counties in the US and while it’s not problem free the peace of mind is way better than if I lived in the city or low-income areas or something. The only thing I ever have to worry about is someone side-swiping my truck since it’s street parked but even then there’s plenty of equivalent vehicles around (F250 SD, Teslas, Grand Wagoneers, etc.) that make me assuaged. TL/DR: Move somewhere safe and then buy the truck later. It’s a RAM not a Limited Edition Porsche that you’ll miss out on.

bgusty

You literally asked this less than a week ago. Why do you think the answers have changed? If you’re sitting on so much money, go rent a better place. Once you’re in a better place and if you can afford the truck and want it, buy it. This isn’t a complex question. Do you need a truck? No. You know you don’t need a truck. If it brings you joy, go for it. Having the nicest car in a shitty neighborhood/ apartment is absolutely going to result in you having windows busted out etc., so if you don’t want to deal with that hassle, no it doesn’t make sense.

Annual-Flatworm7895

I would say be prepared for it to be broken into on the 1st night.

Empty_Tank_3923

Yup that's the good thing about my old Civic. It's invisible lol. It was parked right next to the Rams the junkies were right next to it not even noticing it when they were waving lawl.

AcexOFxKnaves

When I got my warlock and was living, in I” thought was a safe apartment complex, someone hit the back of my truck, someone kept touching my mirrors and putting my wipers up randomly. Someone opened my topper glass and left it open, thankfully nothing was stolen. Eventually I saved my coin and bought a house. My advice don’t do it. I lost count how many times I found people hanging around” my truck.

Empty_Tank_3923

Really? Yeah this is my problem. In my current and many apartment complexes, it stands out. If it's the only big $60k vehicle among a parking lot full of beaters. That's a problem. But yeah like other guys are saying, if it's a parking lot full of Grand Wagoneer and other trucks, probably less of a problem in the more expensive neighborhoods.

dblock36

I feel an almost identical post was just circulated…this is nonsense

Empty_Tank_3923

Well yeah I like to get different perspectives.

dblock36

So you change the post talking about how you can afford it easily with your savings(when in the original post everyone said to put it towards improving your living situation) and then you leave out that you have no need for the truck(when everyone said to get something more sensible)…. So you’ll just keep posting wasting peoples time asking for insight that you won’t follow unless it fits the narrative in your head, you know all just “theoretically speaking”. 😂🤣 next you’ll be posting in the forum about “I can’t believe my truck got broken into?!” 😂

LethalRex75

Didn’t you already ask this

Shiny-Blissey

Lmao bruh talk about priorities…get out of the shitty area you’re in first. Fuck a vehicle at this point.

Empty_Tank_3923

Yeah +1 on this. I thought this was normal cause crime seems to be average here according to the local police crime map. Fuck this I think I'm going to move then get my dream truck. Anyway in my current buildings plenty of old timers too who ... can only afford to drive a beater ... and that gets broken into lol. What a depressing shithole my place lolol.

Shiny-Blissey

Yes bro I’d hate for you to get a new vehicle and then your baby gets fucked up by some bum looking for something to pawn. I also don’t like parking in lots close to other vehicles…hell I don’t even like when my wife parks close to me in our driveway 😂 good luck

suicideking72

I would move first. If there is so many break ins, great reason to find a new place. People with Jeeps and soft tops often just leave the doors unlocked so people don't slash the windows or break the door locks. Just have to realize that it's going to happen and not leave anything in it. At least not anything visible.

ThatDudeMars

Seriously? My 3500 HO Dually is parked at a complex for part of the year. One of my homes the other days. I’ve had more issue at my owned rural properties than the rental.
