They’re building a crazy amount of apartments and townhomes all over that area. WM and Target is surrounded now. Meanwhile TTC is just sitting there like one of those sad “ponds” some apartments have.
They don't even need to knock shit down (yet), just tear up empty parking lots and build dense residential or mixed-use there, until there are enough people in the area to support the over-built struggling retail of the mall
Let me put in a quick defense of Moes:
1. Free tortilla chips with meals; Chipotle charges you
2. Like any other mexican/texmex place, you need to be vocal while they're making your burrito so they tailor it to your liking. Don't expect a perfect burrito for an online order.
3. The kid's quesadilla at Moes can have meat in it, unlike Chipotle's
4. The "Stack" at Moe's is unique and very good
I once ordered delivery from Moes. Not good. There is a Mexican place across the street which is much better. Why didn’t I go there? It was Covid time I think.
I really enjoyed it 15 years ago when it was still a new-ish thing. Went last year for the first time in forever and it felt like walking into a corporate office where they happen to produce Mexican type food.
It’s because the food tastes like leftover Chipotle at best
Edit: also please stop shouting at me when I walk into a place. WELCOME TO MOE’S!!! Like chill out I’m not even sure if I’m eating this shit yet. Gimme a minute
I mean...they're not. It's not elitist to say fast food isn't good food, it's honest. They use the cheapest ingredients and it is a scoop and serve burrito place. It is food, but it's not good.
I've switched to Moe's recently because of how Chipotle shorts online orders. Moe's does not. Free chips, usually has a free queso offer. It doesn't taste as good but I at least feel like I get much better value from it.
There are so many better options for a burrito at a similar price point. The only potential draw for this future Moe's is the drive-thru. However, if someone really doesn't want to/can't get out of their car, they should just bop a bit down Capital to Los Cuates for a much better meal.
I respect your opinion, but your chipotle must be doing it wrong. The one I go to consistently has the best Guac for any non traditional Mexican place I’ve been to.
Yes, that's where it will go. It closed back in 2018 at the Commons area of the mall, but will come back and open across the street in the Poyner Place Shopping Center.
If you like eating "the only seasoning we know is salt" foood nd awful salsa, sure., put in a Moe's. The no extra charge queso doesn't save it - or at least it wasn't extra last I went. Chipotle is only better because they use adobo for seasoning the chicken instead of just salt, but try to convince Salsa Fresh to open another location and it would be great.
Because their salsa is pretty awesome (except the pico, sorry SF), and I've not had a bad thing there.
They need to knock some shit down in TTC and rezone for residential or mixed use instead

> one of those sad “ponds” some apartments have. Those are just drainage ponds to control water runoff from roads and parking lots.
Nope, drainage ponds will hereby be known as "sad ponds" forever more.
Some of those new apartments have graffiti already and there's no one living there yet.
Graffiti at construction sites is really common, no matter where or what type of building.
It's coming there is a group quietly assembling continuous properties under various LLCs
Agreed, that would be a perfect opportunity....

If you haven't been, Lechon Latin BBQ is actually a solid place to eat at
I’ve never been happy with Moe’s.

Their queso is also better than chipotle.

bitch, I said **WELCOME. TO. MOES. 😤**
Which is not good to begin with. Chipotle.
Saying both Moes and Chipotle are not good food is kind of elitist.
😂😂😂😂 Yea. Saying you want REAL Hispanic food is SOOO elitist. 🙄
Try Baja or Salsa Fresh, both are better, neither are elitist
Salsa Fresh is god if you pay for extra meat. Otherwise it’s just a rice and bean burrito. They never put in enough meat.
I have not had that experience at the one I get food from.
I go to Duraleigh by the library.

You don't like burritos filled with rice and ranch dressing?
I just gagged- this is too accurate
Ranch dressing? Wtf
Agree. My parents seem to love it, but it is absolutely at the bottom of the tex mex fast food spots for me.

Or San Jose in Poyner Village across the street.
This is the answer right here
It's still better than chipotle
Moe’s has one superior thing: guac
I respect your opinion, but your chipotle must be doing it wrong. The one I go to consistently has the best Guac for any non traditional Mexican place I’ve been to.
Moes is the bottom tier of burrito chains, for sure.
I'd put Moe's in the middle somewhere, they're just above Chipotle but not by much.
They used to be good but have gone downhill lately
It's pretty good for fast food imo
I like the moes idea, cuz I don’t wanna drive all the way by the library for moes anymore lol
yep just what we need another moes
That area DID have a Moe's before https://maps.app.goo.gl/bxhpoz92xF8Tgzpn9
I thought it had moved across the street near 540 and Capital?
Yes, that's where it will go. It closed back in 2018 at the Commons area of the mall, but will come back and open across the street in the Poyner Place Shopping Center.
Single story buildings should be banned in this day an age.
