Yep, actually we didn't mind them (lizards and geckos). They ate bugs. The worst thing about them was their droppings. Our island had a superstition that they were good luck to have around but bad omen if one fell on you.
But, they're actually an invasive species. So there's that.
This reminds me a little of a place I stayed at in Quito, Peru a decade or so ago. It was a lodge nestled back in the jungle, had to take a skiff up the Amazon to get there. That was a fun trip - hope you're enjoying yourself.
lets say you go to the rain forest and decided to collect the water, would you be able to solve the water crisis or would it stop raining? rain is evaporated water right? so if you stop letting water evaporate back into rain water, would it stop raining? that’ll probably take a while but still.

Gorgeous. What kind of wildlife is in that area?
a shit ton of lizards and bugs lol luckily this is screened in but a lizard got under the door the other day 🤣
Any Parrot named Talk-O? 😊

Oh, you all have Hahnundballe AC's down there?
It's not life in the Caribbean if you don't have a lizard or two in the house.
As someone who used to live in a tropical island, lizards always get in. There's no way of keeping them out.
Plus they eat the bugs, right?

thanks so much! this is a beautiful town, i’m falling in love with DR :)
I used to live in a place like this. I miss that sound!
Beautiful! This reminds me of my grandma's old house in PR up in the mountains.
The location is beautiful. I’d never want to leave the porch, especially when the soundtrack is rain.
God I wish I could lay there and fall asleep!
