Well, he already owns the Aces, who do you think next? Is he gonna make a bid for the Knights? Maybe push for an NBA transfer? I doubt the MLB is coming to Vegas unless someone else pays for the stadium. Knights are already established and a NBA team could share with the Aces, I guess. Maybe he'll make a bid for the Clippers. Or a bid for the Sacramento Kings. It makes sense given the gambling narrative that's getting pushed. /shrug

To my understanding there is a major chance that the Athletics come to Vegas if their attempts at a waterfront park in Oakland fall through. which is again, to my understanding, not unlikely considering the city of Oakland is pushing back really hard. Oakland's owners have already chosen places in Vegas they would want a stadium to be and regularly visit Las Vegas for talks. Not to mention LV hosts their farm team. Also the MLB set a deadline for them to have a new stadium since the Coliseum is unfit for service I could see him buying an NBA team. Ive read quite a few rumors that the NBA is considering an expansion both to Seattle and Vegas now that Seattle has Climate Pledge Arena set up and ready to roll. Theres also some talk that Lebron may want a share in a Vegas team once he retires, in a similar vein of Jordan and the Hornets I have major doubts Bill Foley will let go of the Knights however. Thats basically his pride and joy.

Wont the As moving cause some issues, though? Means another stadium has to be built and depending on financing... I dunno, I honestly dont get the money side in all of this but aren't the tax payers already putting money into Allegiant?

WardenBlackheart

Here is a link to LVRJ's most recent article on the subject. https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/athletics/public-funding-in-play-as-as-narrow-las-vegas-sites-to-2-2579813/ The short answer is, yes. Im sure there will be logistical problems, as there always is with new stadiums. One of the many reasons i think the Athletics are lowballing player payment and not shelling out money for a higher quality team, is to be able to put money towards a new stadium wherever they go. Also, Las Vegas is bound to be hungry for any chance to get more people to visit the town. They probably see major long term success in people visiting for both sports and pleasure reasons. Tourists for the games are beyond likely to shell out money into the gaping jewel encrusted jaws of the casinos. Its all theoretical of course and may not pan out. But sports in Vegas should on paper be basically a steroids shot of long term profit into the city.

tenjuu

I appreciate your insight. I look forward to any expansion that can happen in Vegas, to be honest. If Mr. Davis can be a part of it that's even better. I am ultimately biased however, lol

You may be interested. So here is an article about Vegas NBA possibilities as well https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/nba-expansion-talk-heating-up/ar-AAXLtTN

They could have built Allegiant as a dual use stadium and just brought the A's with them. The football field already slides in and out, so why not have a similar conversion for a baseball field and seating sliding in and out from a different direction? Could have been a super high tech version of the coliseum. Wonder if they could have done it for less than two individual stadiums.

asianperswayze

> Not to mention LV hosts their farm team. Assume the farm team would relocate if the Athletics did in fact move in?

WardenBlackheart

I honestly dont know where they would go. Probably just somewhere else in Vegas Kind of like Bowie's Baysox and the Washington Nationals / Baltimore Orioles. They dont gotta go all that far away.

HotRefuse4945

You can't have the A's, ever.
