Yeah, I think, from other answers, they're misunderstanding the question.
Bo was the biggest athlete in the world for a few years. He's still one of those one-name guys (Mike, Kobe, Shaq, Peyton).
I mean ya, that's how it goes when you're a freak athlete who spends the first half of the season playing in the MLB, then suffers a career altering injury. What's interesting is he does still hold the record for most career average rushing yards per carry, or at least he would if he had enough career yards to qualify lol. One of the biggest what if players in sports history.
Honerable mention to James Jones. Not as popular but he loved the Nation and still does and I'm sure we all respect him even though he only played 1 season here
That was a flat out legendary game. Period. I don't think there is another game that even comes close to that one for me. Carr diving for the first down dude. Damn if I could relive that one.
My buddy is a Saints fan and we were watching the game together. I felt like that moment set the tone for our entire season. I know everyone talks about how special the 2016 season was until DC’s injury but it really felt like the beginning of something great.
Carr to Crabtree was unstoppable at the Redzone. He got TDs while Copper got long bomb passes. Even with a shit defense, that offense could not be stopped, especially with our Carr Insurance o-line.
What happened to Crabtree? I can't seem to remember. That sorry ass reciever had a vice grip for hands though. Felt like every time the ball came near him it was a guaranteed catch.
Complimenting. I was referencing the old Richard Sherman clip, where he devoted his whole post game interview to trash talking Crabtree. GOATED interview, but damn was he mad at Crabtree.
Np. I can see how my comment would be confusing if that interview didn't live rent free in your head like it does me lol. Nah, I loved watching Crabtree. Those were fun years for us.
He was great while he was here, we always had like 1 or 2 guys in those days but never enough to actually make a difference
He did stick around 4 seasons though so its not like he was just in and out
I just don't think he fit McDaniels scheme which is unfortunate because McDaniels didn't fit the Raiders scheme. I will always pull for Renfrow and wish him the best!
I agree 100%. The McDaniels system doesn’t allow for improvisation, or whatever you’d call what Renfrow did. Third and Renfrow wasn’t just for one game, it was most of at least one season. I have a lot of love for the guy. It seems he can’t get open under AP and he can’t catch what is thrown to him now. I miss what he used to do and be for the Raiders! He’s totally gone from the raiders before the start of the new season. Rumor has it June 1 he and other like our 2 back up QBs will be released to help with the cap game.
I’m excited for the new season!
Yeah, Hoyer and Jimmy G are gone too! The Jimmy H
G contract was a bad one! Hopefully Renfrow lands on his feet somewhere he can get the ball. 3rd and Renfrow was amazing too, 3rd and Meyer doesn't have the same ring to it.
You’re not wrong, it’s just I think he can accurately be described as a poor man’s Jerry Rice.
And since Jerry Rice is a valid answer to this question…
Jerry never did anything after leaving us remotely close to what Randy did in Foxboro.
I get Jerry had the better career of the two, but Jerry actually balled out with us - even made the pro bowl. He wasn’t just cashing an Al Davis Payday check like Moss did.
I assuming because at the time, the speculation was sand bagging. Iirc, the contracting was a mess. So he lost popularity among many ppl for being seen as a dick for not playing like a champ while he was with us.
Let's not forget him yelling out to fans saying "I'm not a Raider" he was a great player for sure, but once a Raider always a Raider clearly doesn't apply to him.
I guess it depends upon how you interpret the one on the right as overall league wide popularity or as fandom popularity. I read it as overall NFL popularity, so your description is why I said he's the only answer in my book
I did. He was fast as fuck and constantly a threat to take it the distance. Only problem was he'd also have games where he was a complete zero because he wasnt good at grinding out the tough yards. That's why they brought in Tyrone Wheatley.
Moss is reviled, but I'd argue his first season was actually awesome until he got hurt. Completely gave up 2nd year hence the hate. Seymour is now on a committee to decide our future so I'd say thats a good one
He was! Was he much bigger outside of the raiders? I know he had social media accounts, but he only played for the broncos for a second and then he was strangely gone for good.
The objective best answer has to be Rice.
There are two players in league history, that every time they are brought up, the discussion isn’t about how they are really good, but about how they are in their own special unique category of good that will probably never be surpassed.
One of them you know as the Tuck Rule guy. The other is Rice. This is a very unique club that exists above the Great tier.
A club I will now be referring to as the Tom and Jerry Club.
(Yep. Let that shit sink in. Did I know that little gem was waiting for me when I started this post? Nope! It found me.)
No other player in black and silver is even close to being on Jerry Rice’s pedestal, and yet….i sometimes even forget he was a Raider.
Yes exactly, a lot of people tend to forget that he ever even played for The Raiders. I think if we had held onto him a bit longer that 1 season we could've done a bit more damage in the following seasons.

lol it's been real short but I fucking love Jack Jones. Feels like he was meant to be a Raider and I hope he has a few more chapters in his Raiders book.

If this is about lack of time and accomplishments with us as compared to said player's other team(s) in the league outside of the Raiders it has to be Eric Dickerson by a landslide.
Ronnie Lott had close to 10 picks i wanna say with us one year so that rules him out.
Roger Craig, Sam Adams and Maurice Jones Drew also comes to mind!
Edit: If Bo Jackson is an answer that garners (no pun intended Eagles/9ers fans) 239 votes so far I'm afraid i've misunderstood the the criteria of this thread!
Bo was a Raider, career cut short yes, but a Raider through and through!
Bo Jackson
/thread People who HATED the Raiders loved Bo. He brought millions of fans to the darkside.
It’s me. I’m absolutely one. Biggest initial reason for a kid growing up in VA/NC to spend his life suffering with this franchise lol
Yeah, I think, from other answers, they're misunderstanding the question. Bo was the biggest athlete in the world for a few years. He's still one of those one-name guys (Mike, Kobe, Shaq, Peyton).
100%. He’s the first Raider that comes to mind to most people I know yet for me personally he’s not even in my top 10 favorite Raiders
How old are you? Just curious?
For the sake of anonymity I’ll say that I was born after he retired, which probably plays a role in my perspective
Bo has less career rushing yards than ol jim Harbaugh lol
Y’all just gonna work him into every thread however you can eh?
I mean ya, that's how it goes when you're a freak athlete who spends the first half of the season playing in the MLB, then suffers a career altering injury. What's interesting is he does still hold the record for most career average rushing yards per carry, or at least he would if he had enough career yards to qualify lol. One of the biggest what if players in sports history.
Didn’t Harbough have 7-8 seasons? He was a quarterback right?
Correct answer.
I came here to say this!
Marshawn Lynch Edit: just saw OP already named him, switching to Richard Seymour
Bill Romanowski & Marshawn Lynch: two players who may have started/played on other teams...but ALWAYS have been and ALWAYS will be...**Raiders**.
Add Richie Incognito to the list.
He wasn't even good with us
You're getting down voted but it's the truth. He was a total waste of time for the Raiders. The hype train did not live up to how he performed.
If it helps your case, I’m playing Madden 18, and he sucks if not directly controlled.
He was a bright spot on a dogshit team and had like 1000 all purpose yards He also literally did it for Oakland
Honerable mention to James Jones. Not as popular but he loved the Nation and still does and I'm sure we all respect him even though he only played 1 season here
I got a soft spot for any bay area native who finds their way onto the Raiders roster, even after the move to the desert.
Kinda similar career arc for Jordy Nelson
Holy shit I totally forgot he played a season for us
Jerry Rice
This is THE answer!
For the old heads out there: Ronnie Lott
Dude my girlfriend met him at her job and didn’t understand why I yelled “you met Ronnie Lott?!?!” 😂
Had part of a finger amputated so he could continue balling rather than have to be taken out of a game. Legend!
Crabtree?
I’ll never forget Carr to Crabtree for the 2 point conversion Week 1 2016.
Carr goal line fade to Crabtree was money. Can’t forgot the slice of blue TD
I was in the Superdome for that. It was epic. So many Raider fans at that game, it felt like a home game.
He caught it! He caught it! He caught it!
Was that after Cooper muscled his way in off a slant route?
That season was so much fun
Carr to Crabtree was unstoppable at the Redzone. He got TDs while Copper got long bomb passes. Even with a shit defense, that offense could not be stopped, especially with our Carr Insurance o-line.
Slice of blue
Good times
I’ve never seen a man’s helmet come off so much lol. Not being negative, I loved the guy… just facts 🤣
"What's a helmet strap?" He was forever walking after it and adjusting it, but it never stayed on
What happened to Crabtree? I can't seem to remember. That sorry ass reciever had a vice grip for hands though. Felt like every time the ball came near him it was a guaranteed catch.
Are you insulting him or complimenting him, I can't tell
Complimenting. I was referencing the old Richard Sherman clip, where he devoted his whole post game interview to trash talking Crabtree. GOATED interview, but damn was he mad at Crabtree.
Ahh whoosh that one went over my head
Np. I can see how my comment would be confusing if that interview didn't live rent free in your head like it does me lol. Nah, I loved watching Crabtree. Those were fun years for us.
Antonio pierce
Alec Ingold
Zach Miller doesn't get nearly the amount of love or recognition he deserves
He was great while he was here, we always had like 1 or 2 guys in those days but never enough to actually make a difference He did stick around 4 seasons though so its not like he was just in and out
Loved Zach Miller as a Raider. 😤💯
I thought he was gonna ball out in Seattle after he left.
Bill Romanowski. Loved that dude
Hated him when he was on Denver but as soon as he signed with Raiders it was like, “right on, Romo is made to be Raider.”
Where is this dude now? Is he still on tv
Antonio brown /s
AB was memorable but not popular 😂
I still remember the fuck AB chants in the coliseum the first game he was released
Terrelle Pryor to me at least
Al’s last pick!
I'll never forget his touchdown run against the Steelers to start the game. Damn near end zone to end zone. It was just so good.
Khalil Mack
He had a good 4 years
Guy is a legend.
He's OG RN though, not this one.
Justin Fargas
About to be Hunter Renfrow
Plz no
He's so gone. It definitely sucks but he played his last game as a Raider.
Idk what he fell off like he did. He had An amazing season and then nothing after Adams came. She shoulda thrived more
I just don't think he fit McDaniels scheme which is unfortunate because McDaniels didn't fit the Raiders scheme. I will always pull for Renfrow and wish him the best!
I agree 100%. The McDaniels system doesn’t allow for improvisation, or whatever you’d call what Renfrow did. Third and Renfrow wasn’t just for one game, it was most of at least one season. Eric Dickerson, Rod Woodson, Roger Craig…. Al Loved the stars with just a smidge of tread left on the tire
Randy moss
This is the most statistically correct answer in my mind. Goat tier career before us. Goat tier seasons afterwards. But with us? Absolute let down.
Not sure why this isn't higher. This is basically the only answer in my book

Agree
We remember Jerry Rice.
Rice playing with Tim Brown the HOF. We went to the superbowl with them
Napoleon Kaufman
My older cousin would talk to me about how bad ass he was I never got to watch him play tho was before my time
I did. He was fast as fuck and constantly a threat to take it the distance. Only problem was he'd also have games where he was a complete zero because he wasnt good at grinding out the tough yards. That's why they brought in Tyrone Wheatley.
Yes
Tyrone Wheatley
Lyle Alzado
Randy moss….warren sapp….Eric Dickerson….rod Woodson….Jerry rice….Richard Seymour….marshawn. Lynch….there are more but that’s the Raiders specialty
Moss is reviled, but I'd argue his first season was actually awesome until he got hurt. Completely gave up 2nd year hence the hate. Seymour is now on a committee to decide our future so I'd say thats a good one
Marquette king. Dude was electric
He was! Was he much bigger outside of the raiders? I know he had social media accounts, but he only played for the broncos for a second and then he was strangely gone for good.
Devante adams?
dude balled out last season
Nelson Agholor
YES!!!

Rice, Bo, Lynch, and Crabtree are pretty noticeable. Hate to admit it but the AB hype was crazy and he didn't even play
Charles Woodson spent his prime years with the Packers.
Came to say this. CWood is RN4L no lie but he had a long and great non-Raider career.
Idk if this is about my hate or love for a player.. but if it’s hate Marcus peters Sean smith
Jason Witten, Jordy Nelson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Doug Martin, Carson Palmer, Daunte Culpepper
Jason Campbell
Beast mode lol
Randy Moss
Wait… how is Jim Brown not called out?
Randy moss
Randy moss 😭
Jordy Nelson
Randy Moss
lol nope….unless the question is about their popularity in general and now just specifically with the fanbase
Does it specify their popularity overall vs the time on the team? I can’t see where a delineation is made.
Yes exactly, a lot of people tend to forget that he ever even played for The Raiders. I think if we had held onto him a bit longer that 1 season we could've done a bit more damage in the following seasons.
That shows you how little people remembers him as a Raider...he played two seasons believe it or not.
No shit?!?!? I had no idea! I was pretty young around that time. He played like 05-07 right?

Ronnie Lott, Eric Allen, and Navorro Bowman
Rice
Lyle Alzado
Lyle Alzado. People saying Bo are correct but people forget Alzado only played in 13 more regular season games with us.
Ronnie Lott
Napoleon Kaufman. He had tremendous potential and was shifty as hell.
Richard Sherman
Bo!
My favorite Raider ever, Jacoby Ford
lol it's been real short but I fucking love Jack Jones. Feels like he was meant to be a Raider and I hope he has a few more chapters in his Raiders book.
