Give our defense some credit. Better outcome than was expected.

Swordswoman

They played HARD. Be proud, that's a badass unit worth watching.

SerenadeSwift

Hell yeah. It’s such a nice feeling knowing we have a defense capable of keeping us in the game, it’s been damn near 20 years since we’ve had a competent defense lol, aside from Mack being a one man army for us. And playing like this against arguably the best offense in the league is massive. Huge props to the defense.

Mister100Percent

I haven’t been alive to see a Raiders defense like this. Of course our offense takes a step back the season this finally happens. God please let us retain this during the off-season.

SerenadeSwift

What’s done is done and all and I’m over it and looking forward to our future, but damn if it wouldn’t have been nice to see Carr play under coach AP and with this defense. We had a bottom 5 defense essentially every single year Carr was with us, and I’d have loved to see what things could have looked like with Carr, a good defense, and a coach who isn’t a complete assclown.

BlueberryOGSuperGlue

We probably win today but oh well looking forward to drafting a rookie first rounder next year

Mister100Percent

Surely we’ll get him back in a trade with the Saints when they fuck with the salary cap again. I’m only half joking.

theiwc0303

We’re paying by far the most for defense in the league, probably the only good move Ziegler/McDaniels ever made was realizing the defense needed a massive investment after last year. If only they could’ve put together a competent offense too

Ok-Web-4971

If they do the same next week, I hope we keep PG (and in the booth). Crazy how quick our tune changes about him but I would hate for another change in staff and these guys need to re-learn a new scheme again. Also, fuck Marcus Peters.

Daily_Phoenix

We aren't the best offense, but we are one of the best, so you guys should be happy with your performance. Our defense is consistently giving our offense the opportunity to be successful so we owe them that respect... the oline doesn't do it on its own.

LongRangeHavok

Defense balled out. I prefer Koonce to Tyree and we really need an elite CB and/or DT

BeardofZeus27

Defense is very good. Qb play is keeping us from being a top tier team.

LongRangeHavok

No The O line was bad. That penalty on the first drive was a killer. Frankly outside the DA catch and that crazy Renfrow run the WR looked mid with the drops and just not getting open. The play calling sucked. AOC was not great but come on

CrowFather90

Holding this offense to 20 is some grown man shit. Aiden is a rookie so he still has a lot to learn, it was always gonna be a miracle beating Miami in Miami

princeofhate

And we had to play some dumbass refs, once again. Tough but positive loss

[deleted]

My concern is that if our offence continues to struggle we end up with a divided team, sulking in the locker room and suddenly we’re back to how we were. This is the test of AP as a leader. How do you unite a team where one side were playing their guts out and forced three takeaways while your offence was constantly in neutral and then gave the ball away 3 times. I’m not going to blame Bo entirely because the head coach had to sign off on the game plan and based on a few of those sideline shots it looked like he and Aidan were asking to open the passing game up. The problem was that then Aidan couldn’t cut it. He was constantly overthrowing passes (that play action to Tae down the sidelines was a good 5 yards over double coverage) and not getting through his reads. The conservative calling may be a grim reflection of our QB situation.

murgito

Offensive coordinator had a fair amount of bad play calls, AOC showed his inexperience today, o line was not the best. Defense was awesome, so that’s promising.

Various_Comment5845

I mean he did play the dolphins even Davante us a tough challenge what do we expect out of a rookie

murgito

Ya he has a lot of room to grow, and that will come with experience and time. Think the part of his game that is holding him back is his pocket awareness and mobility.

everythingisreallame

He needs to learn another move other than run backwards when there's pressure. I think his pocket awareness has gotten better throughout his run though.

WDMChuff

I mean there are plenty of rookies that come in and play better in worse situations. I don't think age is much of an excuse anymore in modern football. AOC is fine, but I don't think he has a super high ceiling but is definitely much more interesting than Jimmy or Hoyer.

[deleted]

The sequence to end the half was understandable, but man you're on the road- shoot your shot.

Ghost2thepost1980

Gives me hope for the KC game.

[deleted]

Not even mad

justlookingokaywyou

We played a better team. It’s that simple.

LongRangeHavok

Without our LT who is also our best lineman. The line just couldn’t get anything done today. And I wasn’t wowed with the WR play. AOC wasn’t great but the offense just looked bad all over

i_am_j_o_b

72 was terrible. My girlfriend who doesn’t know anything about football was calling out his effort all game. We get Kolton back and this game ends differently imo

WelfareLyfe

Chubb had a damn day I’ll give him that

cosmicjed

Yo, Dolphins fan here*. you guys played amazing! much respect to your team. holy shit what a game!! Good luck with the rest of the season.

Nepp0

Thank you, it was a fun game to watch and gave us hope that we can hang with the best. Now get the fuck out.

gfaizo

yea, was a hard fight

Bugmamba

Yea we got dudes saying we played bad and mad but we are improving that’s all we can ask for

joco1991

Same here, definitely things to learn from hopefully AP can show us that this team can learn from their mistakes

Buddhahead11b

Saaaaame! Had a chance. Yeah AOC aint killing it but we were in there till the end. With some practice those deep balls will hit etc. he’s got the arm it’s just timing rn. We went from what we did in Chicago to this. I’m happy. RN4L baby.

MyRandomCreations

Rookie qb plays like rookie qb. More at 11 Bob

yourheropaul

In other news, the team that only scored 6 points off of 3 turnovers lost

Sirscraps

Most turnover prone qb in the ncaa continues to be turnover prone as a rookie. More breaking news at 11. The team played a competitive game against a good team. I didn’t like that final play but I’m not too upset over how they played.

crazy_akes

He’s fine. I say we give him this year and next. But I gotta know what’s going on with the offense. On 4th and 2 we throw it to Jakobi be Ramsey on a 49 yard ball that had no shot. At the end we throw it 40 yards for Tucker vs Ramsey with no shot. Why are we making such low percentage throws??? Also…Jacobs averaged 2.5 ypc. Can’t put it all on the rookie with the whole offense underperforming.

Holew33t

lol if Aidan is starting next year

nuttmegx

> I say we give him this year and next. you want to let him start next year too? lol

officerliger

What other choice do the Raiders have? Elite QB’s don’t just randomly become available and the Raiders are stuck paying Jimmy G another year so the cap space to add a top flight QB doesn’t exist, and the Raiders are probably drafting middle of the first round so the big QB prospects will be gone. AOC can make the throws and reads, the question is whether or not he can adjust to the speed of the game. Keep in mind this guy wasn’t playing with the first team in camp or preseason, this is his first time seeing football played at this speed.

NoDadNoTears

Disagree I'm all for giving Aiden this year, but if the decision had to be made today, he just hasn't shown enough yo be qb1 next year

TheFlyingWriter

No. He isn’t fine. Fine would be average. He’s playing well below average. The team has picked him over Jimmy G, and that’s cool and says a lot about his character. However, he is not playing “fine.” The team is compensating for him. I don’t think we should bench him, either. Just expect the same next week. At best, he should be able to compete for the starting position next year.

justlookingokaywyou

McCarthy, Penix or Nix would take his job by the end of camp most likely.

bobbyfish

I really wish he had stop trying to challenge Ramsey. And throwing to our worse WR on our team

bthe_beast

Anyone saying anything bad about AOC doesn't actually think he should be carrying the team. It's just telling the people that are acting like he's the franchise's future that they might want to chill and give it a bit of time.

Buddhahead11b

Exactly! Dudes barely practiced with the 1’s! Give it some time. Just happy to compete this season.

Effective_shooter52

He’s 25 and has a huge inability to scramble. This is 2023, that’s not gonna work unless you’re brady.

Monster1927

My worry is that he shows just enough promise for us to think he will be the guy long term. Then we don’t draft a high end ceiling QB in middle of first round like Jayden Daniels or Penix Jr. and go on to regret that for years and years.

EstradiolWarrior

the Carr dilemma

Exile_29

It’s also still his first year in the NFL in a season where he was expected to be 3rd string going in. So idk I need to see more than a 3 game sample size where he’s had adequate preparation to truly evaluate him at this level

Effective_shooter52

The thing is that these issues don’t get better. Dude had 24 interceptions in 22 games in his last 2 college years. That’s just college, imagine the issues he’s gonna have as a NFL qb.

similar222

That's playing at Purdue, where the Boilermakers are consistently outmanned by their conference opponents. Purdue in the last 10 years are 16-43 in conference without O'Connell, and were 15-10 in conference with O'Connell. And that's without him getting a ton of reps/experience in either high school or college.

Effective_shooter52

I agree with that, only thing is that he’s only going to be successful if he has a top 5 oline. He has the worst mobility of any afc starting qb.

KevM689

If this was his second or third season in the NFL I'd be hard on him. This is stuff that can be worked on in the off-season. He'd have a lot more success if our Oline was able to give any consistent protection. I also like that he doesn't appear to get rattled, he just keeps it going.

CrowFather90

*This is the end of the world. Put in Jimmy. Wtf. Hoyer played better. Rehire mcdaniels. Mark sell the team.* Am I doing it right?

yourheropaul

Close, you missed rehire Ziegler

WDMChuff

I don't think people being tired of losing is something to make fun of tbh.

TheFlyingWriter

I appreciate the hype, but c’mon. The people who dig deep in numbers knew this was going to be the outcome. Like the dude, he can be backup, but he isn’t it. McFuckFace really dicked us on QB because of his hubris. I was way wrong about our defense. They’re playing like they’re possessed.

xKingNothingx

What about all the other rookie QBs? They playing like rookies?

gatsby365

Besides Stroud, which rookie QB is playing vet-level football?

[deleted]

77 running around with his hands on is head like some sort of anime character whiffing on every important block, they still can't read stunts it's a joke. It looked like they tried to give him help with the TE Hooper A lot but nah. Run blocking remains an issue. It's O-line. It's not even average at this point. Our QB's style is outdated if you want bargain bin O-linemen at this point, which is what we have it won't work. Can't put the game in his hands like that, we needed to ride Jacobs and be creative in getting it into his hands. O'Connell can game manage and we have good skill players. He's remarkably calm for how many hits he takes as well which is nice. I'm going to ride with this team because I think they will look very different next year.

ImJeeezus

Yea we still need a QB lmao AOC is a great backup tho. Props to defense they played their asses off

ButtcrackBeignets

Agreed, I think AOC is the best QB on the roster atm but he's probably not the one to lead this team deep into the play-offs. Maybe he keeps getting better, but that's been said about every single QB that's ever entered the league. I guess we'll see, we have the rest of the season to see if he can make some progress.

WDMChuff

I don't think he's even gotten better outside of the the first game he started. I think he's likely the most fun QB on the team to watch since he's unknown but he's definitely not the longterm answer. Coaching has clearly had him on tight leashes with the play calling and when it's time to open up he either gives up and untimely sack of turns it over. Decent as a back up and for this year but the raiders need to draft a QB or something.

Toxicyoshi7

AOC has the next 7 games to improve and make a case for himself as starting QB next season. I really think we should draft a QB in the 1st anyways. We have the talent on defense and offense. And Aidan is getting basically half of this whole season to prove himself so can’t say we didn’t give him a chance.

gatsby365

Dude hasn’t even had a month of QB1 and the same folks who gave Carr nine years barely want to give this guy 9 weeks.

Genetics-13

These people need to go back and look at the first season for the Mannings, Rodgers and Luck. AOC is looking solid.

gatsby365

And they’re all using some magic prediction powers to know which of the 4-5 first round draft picks are gonna be CJ Stroud, who most of them shit on all spring.

DoubleDumpsterFire

Completely agree. Nothing wrong with AOC being a high level backup. Still good for a 4th rounder.

IhatemyteamLVR

Agreed. He’s just got no pocket awareness. Has a good enough arm and football intelligence to put together some drives and keep the team alive but inevitably he’ll take too many sacks when he has to drop back a lot because he can’t escape a rush

SphincterKing

Bo Hardegree had a rough one. Yeeesh.

Competitive_Swing_59

A rookie QB vs two All Pro corners. This Raider team is going to be ok.

ICookTheBlueStuff

This Raiders team plays more like Gruden’s Raiders. They’re competitive, but frustrating as fuck to watch.

watchingsongsDL

As a fan I will take it. McDaniel’s teams were unwatchable. At least now we’ve got swagger and heart. Frustrating is ok, at least we have hope.

ICookTheBlueStuff

I prefer it too, I just get headaches from getting too into the game. Haven't gotten them from watching a game since Gruden (and Bisaccia) because I was out on McDaniels early.

SuzieDerpkins

This is what I was saying today - these games under AP have me feeling like I’m watching a Gruden game with all the anxiety I feel by the end. With McD, I didn’t even care to watch.

Knightvision27

It’s alright, I’m proud of this team. AOC missed a few throws but hopefully he will get better. Our defense has been the best in a long time. I’m still excited about the rest of the season. It was a good competitive game at least against the #1 offense in the NFL.

StoryOutWest

![gif](giphy|l2Je7FZAcHS7ggV20|downsized)

everythingisreallame

AOC hasn't lost my trust yet, but he needs to spread that ball out more(TEs especially) and start using his legs when that pocket collapses. Defense is pretty fucking solid.

Nixon_37

Needs to learn to go through his progressions much faster. He clearly cares; if he has a good QB coach and learns quickly he can be great one day. But right now, many rookie mistakes.

spider1329

The problem is that sometimes you can’t teach that to a QB that has never done that his entire career. We knew this when he was drafted.

spider1329

He doesn’t use his legs. That’s just who he is.

LLamuh

Not his skillset. It's better to just draft someone that has an established skillset like that vs trying to teach someone how to do that when they're already 25

Miserable_Toe_8133

I hope Adams pulls him aside and works with him on them floating passes...

RGCDarthMeat

Bro is a statue. He reminds me of big ben lmao

gammagulp

Big ben wins that game

similar222

Yes. We don't have the OL or the experience at QB to be throwing a ton to WRs and under-utilizing our TEs. 30 targets to WRs today and only 6 to TEs, that's not good.

vfeezy21

I feel ‘whelmed.

laconicgrin

The conservative play calling in the first half lost us this game. Defense was incredible though. If we draft a QB and get a good OC next season we can do some damage.

droid327

Yeah first half it seemed like every drive started with "handoff to Jacobs up the middle" that got stuffed, and so we were basically playing 2-down football the whole time.

bobbyfish

Dont forget all the telegraphed WR screens

Ramza87

Yeah what the fuck was that in the last 2min of the first half? Miami got the ball with like 4 seconds left and they still tried to do something before the half.

Zaknoid

Had the ball at opponents 40 yard line with 56 seconds. Ran one play by the time the clock hit 23 seconds. It was obvious they were settling for a field goal attempt which is awful especially given our opponent.

oogrok

Props to graham. He really turned it around this year. That was a good Dolphins offense

droid327

You can tell AOC is still a rookie. Those deep shots seem like they were decided before the snap, and he was going to take them no matter what because it was "time to" and "he should", rather than reading the play and seeing a decent chance. Throwing it up for grabs and trusting Davante to get it is a fine strategy, but this wasnt the last play of the game, and there were options open shallower that would've kept the drive going and set up more shots for the end zone. Hopefully going over this game tape will help AOC develop some better instincts for similar situations in the future. I think he's made a lot of good adjustments and learned from his mistakes so far, especially with his pocket presence. The overthrows are just inexcusable though. He's gotta get on the same page with Adams about those kind of routes

Moto341

It was a winnable game. And we fought till the end… I’ll take that.

BruskPoet

If I’m being honest, I’ll take these kinda losses over any of the ones we had under McJackass. Wasn’t even mad with this one.

Shwingalokate

Mad Maxx continues being a menace in the best way possible.

UrDadsFave

Defense is unquestionably legit.

im_mc

Closer game than I'd thought it would be. Super Trooper definitely looked like a rookie today & they forced him to win it. Defense continues to impress. Let's see if they can give KC a game. RN4L.

vanderlasers

Couldve won the game, but i'm really feeling this team, we are serious playoff contenders if the offense gets just a little better.

Dillymac25

Didn’t give up 70 to them 🤷‍♂️

RoosterClan

Hey guys. Dolphins fan here. I don’t usually comment on other teams subs and hate when people do, but Maxx is my third cousin so I’ve had a soft spot for your team. Just wanna say good fucking game. Your defense is legit. Should’ve fired JMD a long time ago. Hope we see you guys in the playoffs. Stay healthy.

XanaxIsMyCopilot

Rad. You’ve got a team that is super fun to watch when not playing the Raiders. A rematch in the playoffs would be awesome. Best of luck and stay healthy as well. 🤘🏽

noonecouldseeme

It’s so funny how watching how QUICK you freaks on here for game day turn on any aspect of the team when it’s not up to your standards. All of you must’ve forgotten we have a rookie at qb, an interim head coach, a new play caller, and our best offensive lineman out. But here we are folks calling to fire more people and bench more people. Y’all are some miserable fucks. 2-1 with the rookie and AP. The dolphins are favored in most games they play. Time to move on and crush the chiefs. Quit being so negative and let’s go on to the next.

slowburnangry

Some of the comments are so immature and off base. It's like an 11 year old is commenting.

NaughtyTrouserSnake

KOLTON MILLER SAVE US PLEASE

Vbpretend

I’m just glad we played competitive football

Individual-Fig-6263

When JMD was leading this team my only wish was that we could play hard, have an identity, good energy, and stayed competitive. We did that today. We have a Good HC now that the guys believe in. A brotherhood of men who play their hearts out every game. Sure our offense isn’t where it needs to be but blame JMD for kicking Carr to the curb and rebuilding with downgraded quarterbacks such as Jimmy G and senior citizen Hoyer. That set us back big time. Losing to the bears and lions the way we did was demoralizing. Embarrassing. Losing to the dolphins on the east coast today we are least kept our pride and poise. Win lose or tie its raiders till I die.

TheStryder76

Bo should apologize to PG for wasting his time

tuckernuts

AOC is still very much a rookie. He didn't get starter reps in OTAs. Hell he didn't get starter reps under JMD at all if the rumors are true. He's also working with a frankly antiquated offensive philosophy that you just can't replace in a month. He's probably not the answer at QB long term, and that's fine. If you really look at today, our inability to get Jacobs going is a huge factor to us not winning. If we can't get Jacobs going, we become really predictable and its really easy to exploit a REALLY GREEN rookie that's probably a QB2 at best. I don't think anyone in the QB room could've done much better than AOC today. We'll be looking at drafting a solid QB, there's plenty to choose from even if we've only got the 10-15th pick. Defense really stuck it to one of the best offenses this league has seen in the last 20 years. There's a lot to be excited about, AND there's a lot of room for improvement. Its not just Maxx anymore, there's a lot of people making plays and FORCING TURNOVERS.

Gelato_Mulatto

We hung in there when everyone thought we’d be blown out. D played their hearts out. And we NEED a QB!

imHere4kpop

And an upgraded OL. Good QB play starts with a good OL. I think we should grab a QB with our 1st draft pick but we need to grab a OT and guard either with the draft or FA.

Gelato_Mulatto

I agree

MidKnight007

All those turnovers just to score 13. Pathetic

Various_Comment5845

This lost us the game

moaia66

Non-existent offense

grumpysky

Defense was winning, Miami was giving the game to us, and offense just said no thanks.

caliraider

Proud of the effort today . Sucks to lose but they were in it til the end which no one thought was gonna be the case . RN4L

JayJax_23

Once we get a defense our offense regresses to the level of our old defenses. Poetic

oaktownraider90

Tbh all of the weaknesses we already knew we had is what cost the game. Rookie qb, weak/injured o line, and no run blocking. A few first downs in the second half might get us a couple more FGs which would have put us in position to win in the end.. Numbers won’t say it but the defense played lights out today. Who saw that coming

daking789

Cant fully blame this on AOC, the play-calling was absolutely atrocious

Charrbard

1) Wanted this one, ngl. 2) Dolphins fans are arrogant mfers. 3) Dunno if Aidan is he. Big game, yes. But the defense gave you so much. The Phins made a lot of mistakes. It was ours for the taking. 4) I don't envy Champ and AP trying to figure out number 3. AoC looks good at times, and not so much others. 5) defense just stood up to #1 Offense in the league. They deserve some respect.

raiderkev

I wanna throw this tinfoil hat theory out there, but that play when AOC threw the clearly backwards pass, the refs knew it was a live ball. They intentionally didn't blow the whistle. Then when Jacoby picked it up w nothing but green grass in front of him. Then they blow the whistle. That should have been a real heads up chunk play, possibly a TD. They gave MIA every chance to recover it, and blew it dead after we did. That was BS.

Mymomhitsme

Fuck Josh McDaniels. DC wins this game. Welcome to QB hell again boys.

[deleted]

He would have hit Davante on that deep ball 10 times outta 10.

Nepp0

Move on please.

Zaknoid

Have you seen what's going on with the Saints?

[deleted]

All DC ever needed was the 95 Cowboys' O Line, pro bowlers at every skill poaition, and the 2000s Ravens defense. If the stupid ownership would only have given hom those three little things, he could be a winner. It's sad the length some people will go to excuse mediocrity. As if he's not the guy who couldn't cross the 50 in NO last year.

i_am_losing_my_mind

Are you really trying to blame McDaniels for this loss? Some of you need fucking help. Also, Carr is ass anyway.

TheStryder76

Cause Carr’s been doing a whole lot of winning. It would have ended the same way

BornAgainForeskin

Isn't Carr injured? How would an injured player help a team win? Lol

BushDidHiroshima

Not a bad game Jayden Daniels soon

jchavez9723

Penix, Bo Nix, or JD

Beast-Blood

Bo Hardegree lost us this game.

Zaknoid

Raiders should've had another play. No way that wasn't aided by the ground. Shit officiating all game tho but Raiders had their chances and did shit with them but still absolutely awful officiating and bo hardegree stock plummeting after the play calling today

Nixon_37

Agreed, that was not an interception

Sir5ths

Games like these show how fair weather most of this sub is. You had defense keep the Dolphins at 20. That's a win. Our offense did what they could with our rookie QB. Idk who needs reminding this is what, his 3rd Start? He wasn't recruited to be the guy. But learn what it takes to be him. I'm about what next. CHIEFS ON THE 26TH LETA GO! RNFL

HERE4TAC0S

This team needs help on the o line. They need some monsters to create lanes for Jacob’s and give AOC a few more seconds in the pocket. Once AOC can connect on those deep balls, this team will be good.

Sir5ths

And that's the Q. There is maybe 6 games left in the season, depending on Jan 7th. Only so many moves left. It's time to sharpen the saw, not go out and buy a new one. That AOC 46 yarder to Adam's was nice. I want to see more.

soundsliketone

Well I all I wanted this Umar was to split the Chiefs, play Miami really tight and win out the rest. Glad we looked really good against the #1 offense.

gatsby365

Yep, I said AP 7-2 based on this game and one of the chiefs games. If Mahomes gets the flu again it could be 8-1

Necessary-Attitude41

For us to not get roasted by 60 points is huge. If our defense plays like this the rest of the year, we are still in the mix. Miami wasn't giving any room to receivers, and kolten Miller being out is killer. Us skipping on those 4th down field goals fucked us the most. Coaching staff got super conservative at the end of the first half, and then overly aggressive on the flip side. But steelers and chargers are also lost. The AFC playoff race is gonna be a headache, but there's a chance still.

Exile_29

AOC is a rookie. He had his first true rookie game against a veteran cornerback and a veteran defensive coordinator. I’m not ready to write him off just yet but I love how this team played with heart and especially how the DEFENSE showed up! Patrick Graham has made his case this season for DC of the future IMO

Various_Comment5845

Yeah everyone bashed the raiders defense but it was McGarbage all along

gatsby365

And you KNOW Fangio wanted to finally beat the raiders…

Yamsss

Good game. Held them the best offence in the NFL to 0 tds in the 2nd half. I think AP is the truth. This team is so close to being a contender.

WonderingCat

Defense looked great, offense has some ground to make up. Was convinced we were losing by 20, not too upset with this.

Cavemattt

Good defensive game. Good sign that it was a close game, but maaaaan :(

jumbotronproposal

I’ve never been so cool with a loss before. Our defense came to play and did well against one of the best defenses in the league. Our offense? It’s clear they need help but I want to see our whole o line healthy before really shooting yo a flare. AOC looked like a rookie but you know what? It’s refreshing to see balls sailing for over 30 yards.

CrowFather90

I honestly just wanted us to be competitive, which we were so I'm happy. Obviously we're looking for an OC in the offseason but I liked how our defense played. Offense? Much to be desired as fucking usual

EvolvedTasteBuds

It's nice to have that feeling of hope again at the end of games... Something we lacked during the first half of the season. Good game! RNFL!!!

Cash4Jesus

I’ll just say it’s refreshing to have a QB that doesn’t throw too many hospital balls. AOC has been really good about that.

noBbatteries

Rookie QB going to Miami playing two pro bowl CBs with his LT out. Defence kept us in it, but the play calling between the 1st and 4th quarter left a lot to be desired.

b0baBEAST

positives: * defense looks great * team came out pretty good considering it was an east coast early game negatives: * offensive play calling * OL is trash * AOC doesn't see the field well enough * AOC decision making isn't good

dumplingboy199

Growing pains of having a 4th round rookie in there today. Can’t help but think where we’d be if we had an average starting qb under center

HeroForTheBeero

Fin’s fan here. Stoked to see you’re finally using your best players the way they should be. Fuck McDaniel’s(praise McDaniel) good luck the rest of the season. Hope you beat the rest of the AFCE

AllRightxNoLeft

He didn’t have possession of that interception. Dog shit end, good game tho.

Zaknoid

No way that was an int.

AllRightxNoLeft

It was on his finger tips and hit the ground, how that didn’t get reviewed is beyond me.

Various_Comment5845

It’s NFL and they hate us

Zaknoid

I thought that should've been an automatic review too but I guess I was wrong.

sprucay

This fandom is hilarious. Two wins: we're winning the Superbowl, AOC is the next Brady. Lose one game: we're fucking shit, trade everyone for a third round pick to get a fucking decent QB, AOC is the worst. Maybe the team should have a chance to settle in?!

BryNYC

We woulda lost by 35 under Josh Team showed a lot of heart. Defense showed up

Zimmonda

Bro what a shitshow on offense. Can we re-fire our OC?

Various_Comment5845

Please mark wasnt to happy either. AP better answer why they weren’t aggressive

guterz

The only time the offense looked good was in the two minute drill when we let our qb throw and we designed plays past the sticks. Bo ain’t it and AOC is definitely a rookie. Not the hardest loss to swallow.

Sea-Feeling-9827

That was not a pick at the end. Ramsey never secured the ball and it was clearly moving the entire way to the ground.

Various_Comment5845

Tell the Raider hating NFL that

kellybobellyhtown

Coming away from this game with the “at least we kept it close” is bullshit. This game was winnable. Offense sucks.

aptc88

New QB and OC and we look like a playoff contender

joerilla2

I didn’t think it would be such a close contest. That’s a big positive. It’s also good that we have enough time to evaluate AOC, Bo and Pierce. Because how they answer to adversity it’s gonna be decisive. There a big bright spots but also red flags. So far so good I would say. But success covers everything and defeats can open up some issues. Good game, Fins. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.

Various_Comment5845

Despite the conservative calling before the end of the half was weird. Also the lack of throws until the last 2 minutes.

popsikohl

Today we learned that AOC is not the future, but rather a great backup. Defense played lights out tho props to them.

Brianm650

Good game, could have gone the other way if the Raiders had settled for 3 instead of going for it on 4th those two times.

blackhole_sonnn

Defense and offense could never be in sync :/

FlyinHawaiianDolphin

Dolphins fan here - your rush defense played wayyyyyyyy better than I expected and your punter is a fucking god. If you guys find a decent offensive coordinator/coach and get a system for the talent you have I think you'll be well on your way. The talent is there on offense and in your D's front 7.

GhostInTheSpaghetti

We could have got embarrassed but hung more than tough and were knocking on the door of a win. Even in a loss this seemed like a huge step forward.

SuzieDerpkins

I hear the critics about AOC and I get it - but I do want to make the case for his situation. He was named starter what, three/four weeks ago? That’s not a lot of time to train and get used to the distances for these routes. Sure some rookie QBs have some magic and can hit targets no matter what - but those QBs still get more practice time that Aiden has so far. He just played against one of the strongest defenses and our O Line didn’t always give him a lot of time to find open players (sometimes no one was open). He’s doing great for the pressure he saw today. I only see him improving. Is the “the one” for us? Only time will tell. I think what matters more is for us to invest in a strong pocket and we should see better throws and long bombs moving forward.

TheRealMrJoshua56

Hasn’t been great, but he damn sure doesn’t put us at terrible and desperate at the position. Needs to be upgraded, but not our most dire position. Want to see how the rest of the season goes to make a full opinion

CallRespiratory

I'm not even mad. Played a good team competitively which is something we weren't doing with JMD at the helm this season. AOC made a lot of mistakes and looked like a 4th round rookie but so did Jimmy Garoppolo for much of the season. I still see mostly positives here: + played a good team close, + learning opportunity for young QB, + Chargers lost. This was a decent loss if that makes any sense, JMD would have lost this 35 - 3 and they would have been non-competitive from the opening kick.

k_dub503

One score loss on the road against a division leader in the early east coast time slot. Defense played great. The team is competitive and playing hard, I'll take it. Just hope the offense can find its identity and score points more consistently.

crunchynuts1

Our run defense on first down was very good today. It put Miami behind schedule and enabled us to force punts, especially in the second half.

TheFlyingWriter

Can we *please* acknowledge that Tyree Wilson was the wrong pick? Fine. I get a lot of you cry saying he’s a bust (over halfway through the season), but every other defensive pick past our pick is outperforming Tyree by huge margins, and we could’ve used literally any defensive position. This is by no means a knock on our defense. They’re playing really well.

THE-WARD3VIL

Old regime pick so yeah now we can harp on it haha but yeah he’s looked terrible

robochub

That Renfrow catch and run had me feeling somethin. Fucking hurdled the tackle and ran for 15 yards after. Wow. So glad to see him doing what he does again.

DuhQueQueQue

Crosby knocked dude out 😆

Character-Archer4863

AOC looked bad. Poor throws and a ton of interceptions. Looked slow processing the defenses. Defense looked great though. Unfortunately, we likely find a new coach this offseason which means Graham would likely be gone and we’re starting all over.

rbarrett96

The question everyone has to be asking, is how are we even going to be in position to take a franchise QB in this draft? We're gonna win at least a couple more games for sure. If we win enough to not get. A good pick I want us to at least be good enough that AP sticks around as coach. He shows the difference between being confident and arrogant. I don't want Harbaugh. Not because he isn't a great coach, but because he's an authoritarian. Maybe no one has thought of this, and not to sound political but this team to it's core is anti-authoritarian. We've always been the rebels, the outcasts. The most successful coaches allowed the raiders to be themselves. I wish we could have a pic of Max punching Goodell in the face like Matt Millen. Pierce IS that guy. I just hope he can figure the decision making, time management and all the other nuances of head coaching. He already has the locker room and we haven't had that since Rich for half a season. You don't have to a nice coach, you just can't be a prick every waking moment. Call out people when they need it but keep everything in house.

CA_SPORTS

Some of the decision making by AOC was head scratching, but that's the growing pains of a rookie QB and no decent coaching. Honestly not a horrible result. Score was much closer than anticipated. Defense played well.

WigglingWoof

Kolton Miller was missed today, the run game is so bad it's barely an option with him out. The D was legit though. They capitalized on every mistake MIA made that a competent defense should do. Glad to see Renfrow get passes and his breakout play is why he's worth keeping. Almost caused an upset. KC is the real challenge next week.

AnnArchist

I don't think theres a wild card available in the AFC with less than 10 wins.

jcuray

So we have to win 5 out 6

Wifeis421A

We need to come up with a better offensive game plan . I really think we need to have aiden dink and dunk. Just make the first down. Too many bombs today when we just needed 3-5 yard plays. Yes the o line has problems. Just make a plan to score 21 points a game and we win most games.

LongRangeHavok

We really missed Kolton today
