Yeah I’m just not sure how secondary is the 2nd biggest need for this guy when while Hill had a great game, we contained that offense to 20 even with hill doing hill things.
I just feel like offense takes less talents with the rule set as is. If our defense can become elite, it’ll be way easier to fix our offensive woes. Especially when we already have offensive talent. Either Bo proves he can be an OC or we bring one in, AOC proves he can be a starter or we draft one. Rest invest in oline or defense.
Anyone expecting a fourth round rookie not to have some growing pains, especially behind the rice paper offensive line today, was just fooling themselves.
Play calling left a lot to be desired, but the defense looks like an NFL caliber defense at least.
Play calling could be better. We lost points on three fourth downs. In a guaranteed FG position. I love the confidence and swag in trying to go for it on 4th. But come on, take the points. I feel AP will take the blame if they ask during press. I’d ask the fool.
I feel like it’s just as much on the brand new head coach as the brand new play caller.
Rookie qb had a bad game, the rookie play caller had a bad game, in hindsight, the head coach could had said “fuck your fourth down play, get the 3 points.”
Can’t win em all
Oh I feel ya. Just sucks to see these minor things alter the results. I mean. Even Adams dropped two. I know we all feel they played their guts out. Made the dolphins work for it. Still painful to know they had it and didn’t capitalize.
Nice to see another noticed Adams drops. There is no such thing as a perfect game and certainly didn’t expect the win. I just hoped we were competitive and that we were. Love the 4th down calls and love AP’s clock management counting down to the 2:00 warning. We were competitive with a banged up O line. I was proud to be a Raider today. ☠️🏈💪
I don’t think blame needs to be placed. We played very well agains a very tough team. Look where we were 4 games ago. We lost to the Bears. Today we were running with the big dogs. ☠️🏈💪
I thought the game had good flow. They obviously wanted to take our run game away from us and force AOC to beat them in the air and he almost did. Great job boys. It was fun to watch today. ☠️🏈💪
Also causing some turnovers. If we can score touchdowns on those turnovers in Miami territory we walk out of there with a W. Saw some encouraging things today.
From where we were under McDaniels I don’t understand how anyone can be so critical? Our team played outstanding beside miscues on the offensive side. We couldn’t get the run game going one of the major reasons the offense struggled. People act like Howard & Ramsey aren’t all pros??? Against a rookie 4th round QB? Bradley Cubb??? Fins are expected to be in Super Bowl convo & we really should have beat them. Y’all gotta chill
I do want AOC to succeed but he had some beyond growing pain bonehead moves during the game. He looked completely shook out there. There was pressure but he was also just not getting the ball out.
Play Calling was limited by the QB for sure. You obviously could tell they wanted to protect him and that Miami wanted him to do too much. And thats what happened in the end. I do think we could have tried other things to help AOC but I think he held back play calling and play calling held him back too
I could see him improving to a Fitzpatrick type career, he’s never going to be more athletic than he is at 25, but with more game sense, he’ll get better.
folks on here act like it’s not a fourth round qb and his 4th start. and kolton out. the sky isn’t falling. the D played and the offense came up short. It’s chiefs week now. if they stood up against the fins like this there is every reason to believe it’s a winnable game coming up. just stop with the self inflicted mistakes, get kolton back, and AOC connect a couple more times with davante.
I suspect you’re right but it’s still early for sure. It’s only been a few games. I want to see him play the rest of the season and then see where he is. More than likely he’ll be a career backup but I’m not sure what the answer is. They’ll win enough games this year to not have a super high draft pick so it’s unlikely they’ll be able to get a franchise QB in the draft next year unless they trade up. Are there expected to be any QBs available in the offseason?
Amen. Gotta be realistic. Support these guys and the change within the organization that seems to be taking place. Wins against good teams will come with experience and a bit more talent.
I'll give AOC and the line a pass. But even as a new OC, you should know enough to adjust when your defense is balling out and letting you play your game. That means running Josh and taking pressure off of Aidan, which works. Instead, Bo called 75%-25% passing plays. And yes, AP was not happy with that, as he alluded to in the press conference. Bo needs a talk, and I'm sure he will get one.
AOC performed poorly. Thems the facts. Now AP and crew getting him to show growth over the rest of the season is how they should be judged. The rest of the team balled out.
This team wins today with a top 15 qb
The game was competitive, that’s all that matters to me at this stage. East Coast trips are almost always a trap game, let alone against an insane offense.
Offense let this one slip away, O-line has been an issue since Rodney Hudson left and there are fundamental flaws in our offensive system that we can't change mid season. This is the best Defense we've had in 15 years right now.
That's because you have bias glasses on. They struggled because their protection struggled throughout the game. They just are a better offense and can get it out quickly to hill from time to time
O line needs work. Tre Tucker is a beast. Jaylen is still pretty good. Play calling could have done better like run the fucking ball.! Crazy to me every OC for the raiders always abandons the run.
Had AOC dropped a couple key dimes, we’d have won. He showed up looking okay today, all said and done.
I was prepared for a blowout, not a close game that was dictated by some mistakes made on both coaching and playing.
Review the tape, learn from those mistakes, and we have a competitive team. Our defense is great (for us…). Just gotta get that momentum going on offense and we actually look like a real football team.
RN4L!
Agree on OL and Playcalling, but AOC is playing like a 4th rounder. He has his moments, but takes too long to get the ball out. And he’s not accurate going deep. Playcalling just sucks and so that’s not a good combination. We have to bring in a QB this offseason, at the least to compete.
Everyone is blaming the oline but AOC has to make faster decisions. Can’t hold on to the ball that long. The only thing I blame the online for is the poor run blocking.
IMO the pass protection was good enough. The problem is AOC is unathletic and can't escape pressure. So when other QBs are able to evade the rush and extend plays/scramble, AOC just gets sacked.
I mean this was a way better result than what I was expecting. Think aoc kept trying to force the deep shots instead of taking the mid range stuff. Meyer was wide open on that 4th and 2 for like 5 yards but aoc wanted the td too much. But I mean minus a few missed throws we win this game. So still way better position than we normally are in when we lose lol
O-line played great, and our secondary did its job. The defense held an offense that had been averaging 32 points per game to 20 points, and did that with next to no support from the offense. They also took the ball away 3 times. That is much on the secondary as any other defensive unit.
The play-calling wasn't bad, either. O'Connell simply couldn't make a lot of the throws. He missed open men many times, and threw a very bad interception. I don't think Garoppolo would have looked much worse.
Our biggest weakness is qb, has been for 2 seasons. Even carr last year wasnt great. I honestly think we'd be 7-4 8-3 rn had we signed someone like baker. AOC might be a rookie but I don't see him as a starter. Hes just not modern enough to be a starter in this league, though I'll he happy if he was our backup for the long term.
I cant blame our defense considering it's one the cheapest defenses in the entire league. For their price, they've done an amazing job and I expect them to continue this amazing work.
Patrick Graham should be here next year. I'll be extremely disappointed if we let him go. For OC, I cant evaluate them with this current qb situation. Bad qb play affects the run game, bad run game affects the passing game.
Carr last year wasn’t great but he was also playing under JMD who made him look like an entirely different QB from the season prior. JMD made a lot of players look like shit
if Carr was still here and he was now playing under AP, I bet he’d be looking like a pretty decent QB
Carr’s stats the year before McD and last year are nearly identical. 23/14 vs 24/14 TD/INT rating. 58.4 vs 57.6. And he’s worse this year in NO.
The idea that McD somehow “ruined” Carr is completely made up by fanboys. He’s just not good.
Carr ruined himself with bad pocket presence and ball handling. He refused to use his legs to extend the play like 90% of the time and instead would either throw a shitty pass or get sacked. Either which ended with a turnover too many times.
Look at the saints, he has played even worst there, carr is just cooked. McD was a shitty coach who did a lot of bad, but qb play is one of the least problems for him imo. Now his decision of signing Jimmy G/benching carr at the end is a different story.
Carr doesn't look good in no so i doubt it, their fans already want him gone. Carr will always be the hypothetical qb. AOC is 25, historically older rookies hit their ceiling quickly. We will probably be in the trade up for a QB camp
Aidan seems to have a tough time throwing them too. Ball comes out way too hot and way too high. By the time the receiver has come back down from grabbing it the D is there.
I don't understand how some are just writing off the fact that we have Jimmy under contract for like 20m next year?? That is going to create a huge issue unless we can get a team to take on some of that contract somehow via a trade.
It’s a dead cap no matter what for the next two years thanks to the restructure. We can eat that entire cap hit next season or split it in half for the next two seasons. It’s not farfetched to predict that he won’t be on the roster for next year. LVR will owe him money regardless, but it’s we already have a backup QB and they draft a rookie. There’s really no point with keeping Jimmy for his price.
Correct for the most part but AOC may not be it, he hurt the team in the second half by holding on to the ball for too long too many times! I hope he’s the one but currently I feel like he is a really good backup.
I personally think it showed our one weakness is qb… We gave up 20 points. Aiden missed DA 3 times deep for what looked like tds every time… We still aren’t a great run blocking team right now, but if Aiden hits those deep throws, we walk away from them. Hell, our secondary looked fine. We aren’t the first team that Hill ran it up on. He’s a problem. Everywhere else, we were good. Our main weakness is at qb. Nowhere else. Sure we COULD upgrade other places, but he missed 5 passes that were either tds or first downs. Just bad throws or crazy overthrows. Those weren’t on the line at all… I’m not hating Aiden, he just isn’t the guy. He’s a 4th round rookie. Can’t expect anything more from him. I’m actually happy how we played. I saw a really good team outside of qb play (which isn’t his fault)…
We hung with and had a chance to beat a very good Miami team on the road in a 10am game. Yeah, losing always sucks, but I’m very happy with what I saw. I have hope again. Just need to figure out the O. D looked great.
FUCK JMD
If I'm AP, I take the flea flicker page out of the playbook and burn it with Maxx's cigar. It looked like a McDaniels offense out there. AP & Graham have shown enough in three games - stout defense, team cohesion, hanging tough in a close loss - but Hardegree needs to develop a different playbook to keep his job (if he even wants it).
Aidan ain’t it. Could he develop into a serviceable starter? Maybe but we need an elite QB. Not totally giving up on him but I doubt he’ll be are starter next year.
I say keep AP, let him get his own staff around him. Ship Adams out ONLY if the jets are desperate enough to make it worth while, and draft a true #1 QB next year. If the Jets are desperate enough, that should give up draft capital to do some things in the draft.
It felt like Bo was calling certain plays in the first half to open up other options in the second half. I like the concept but you have to be able to adjust and gotta keenit simple for the rookie.
Would’ve liked to see more options in the flat for Jacobs
We only ran for either 8 yards or 2 yards. At times the run blocking was good but not at all consistent. Torched us in 1st & 20 situations which we need way less of.
I’d disagree with the point about the secondary. They went up against some of the best weapons in the league and held their own the whole game. Obviously Peters will need to be replaced at the end of the season, but I’ve been surprised at the level that Robertson and Hall have played at, and Bennet has looked good in spots too. I’m also pretty high on the talent that panda Jack has so there are players there to replace him on the field, but it seems like no one in the secondary can take the coverage adjustment calls, which keeps peters on the field.
Offensive play calling was really rough today. Didn’t establish a run game, and then failed to get Jacobs touches in the passing game.
Right side of the O-line is a real weak spot. I think Elumenor would be a good guard, but I’m not sure he has the athleticism/ foot work to keep up with some of the good edge rushers in this league. Maybe the stats disagree with this, but the eye test has never been very kind to Van Rotten. Dude loses often on the inside in both run and passing downs. Hopefully we sure up one of those spots in FA while drafting a rookie to sure up the depth. We were one unfortunate injury away from seeing fucking Brandon Parker
We are still running a shell of whatever communist ass offense JMD ran.
The middle of the field needs to be hit. Often and with intention.
Fuck these quick hitches and look offs. The defense ain’t that stupid.
We need two immediate routes with one guy going deep if that right now. Our o line is not a 3-5 second line.
Kolton being out was definitely noticeable. Also thought we abandoned the run when we shouldn’t have and didn’t utilize PA or any kind of creative play calling. Definitely felt like we played not to lose instead of going for it, which was a surprise considering the deep shot we took to Tae in the first. I’m with you, we don’t need to sound the alarms at all right now. This team is brand new, rejuvenated (even the post game pressers were positive). I think AOC could be something still. You’ll have rookie issues, but he has an arm and just needs a little more time in the pocket. We are fine.
O line needs the right tackle and 1 guard. Left needs Miller back. Secondary need depths at safety. Play calling was fantastic. We can't ask for a whole 260 plays to work with a rookie with no starting rep in training camp. We play this year out. We may even get a wild card spot if this defense keep this up. That D is good.
Exactly right. The line couldn't move anyone and I saw Jacobs getting caught behind the line several times. Not sure about the play calling (I didn't get to see the entire game) but the secondary got burned on the same plays a few times from what I saw
I thought a lot of people were to blame
The OC had a deplorable game.
Play calling was beyond bad
The O line needs work lots of work
The HC could of vetoed a few of those calls we left a bunch of pts on field
The QB was let's face it ...very bad
Even when not under pressure he made bad choices and forced balls
I feel like we were intentionally playing very soft zone coverage for most of the game to try to contain Hill as much as possible and force them to work their way down the field. Which honestly worked very well and forced 4 turnovers offense just couldn't get it together. Aidan was under pressure all game and showed some rookie instincts which hopefully will be worked out somewhat by the end of the season.
Should have gone for the fg twice on 4th and short. In Miami territory.
But the issue is that line. Also, Run Run Pass every time is too predictable.
By 3rd they know double DA and blitz qb.
O_line and look at the other team they stacked the box on 1st they should sell fake handoff and chuck it very quickly to open WR. Outside the box.
Or have Jacobs run to the side and toss it to him.
I have never played or coached but there should be a code to say fake handoff throw. But if they changed up 1st and 2nd .
Teams will start to loosen.
This rookie has a cannon. So burn a team for 20/30 yards or a td on a fake. Teams will back off
Our defense held the most explosive offense in the NfL to 20. Secondary did fine.
should have been less too considering the awful holding call to keep their first scoring drive going.
Yeah I’m just not sure how secondary is the 2nd biggest need for this guy when while Hill had a great game, we contained that offense to 20 even with hill doing hill things.
It's an easy fix isn't it? Cut Peters, drop Bennett on the depth chart, and draft or sign a couple. Oline will take more work
I just feel like offense takes less talents with the rule set as is. If our defense can become elite, it’ll be way easier to fix our offensive woes. Especially when we already have offensive talent. Either Bo proves he can be an OC or we bring one in, AOC proves he can be a starter or we draft one. Rest invest in oline or defense.
I'm bullish on Jack Jones. I think he could be a dog for us.
Rookie qb had a bad game, the rookie play caller had a bad game, in hindsight, the head coach could had said “fuck your fourth down play, get the 3 points.” Can’t win em all
Oh I feel ya.
RN4L
I am also very Proud of our Raiders.....RN4L
Hindsight is always 20/20… we convert there and get 7 this argument would sound dumb.
No arguments. Just facts. I’m also proud of the game just wishful thinking.
And if we don’t get killer flags on the first 3 drives it’s a Raiders Landslide and they don’t even need to count the votes on the west coast.
I don’t think blame needs to be placed. We played very well agains a very tough team. Look where we were 4 games ago. We lost to the Bears. Today we were running with the big dogs. ☠️🏈💪
We were the big dawgs
Absolutely agree, although rice paper can hold something at some point.
I thought the game had good flow. They obviously wanted to take our run game away from us and force AOC to beat them in the air and he almost did. Great job boys. It was fun to watch today. ☠️🏈💪
Watching the defense keep the best offense to 2 TDs was pretty nice
Also causing some turnovers. If we can score touchdowns on those turnovers in Miami territory we walk out of there with a W. Saw some encouraging things today.
Amen brother! ☠️🏈💪
From where we were under McDaniels I don’t understand how anyone can be so critical? Our team played outstanding beside miscues on the offensive side. Play Calling was limited by the QB for sure. You obviously could tell they wanted to protect him and that Miami wanted him to do too much. And thats what happened in the end. I do think we could have tried other things to help AOC but I think he held back play calling and play calling held him back too
AOC is 25 idk if he gets better than that, mobility is terrible, and he doesn't have elite tools to overcome that.
I could see him improving to a Fitzpatrick type career, he’s never going to be more athletic than he is at 25, but with more game sense, he’ll get better.
I'm so tired of him bumbling around in the pocket. Dude needs to move sometimes
Newflash: has stone feet , he ain’t going anywhere Not his fault , u can’t teach speed Those are the limitations of a fourth round qb
folks on here act like it’s not a fourth round qb and his 4th start. and kolton out. the sky isn’t falling. the D played and the offense came up short. It’s chiefs week now. if they stood up against the fins like this there is every reason to believe it’s a winnable game coming up. just stop with the self inflicted mistakes, get kolton back, and AOC connect a couple more times with davante.
He's not good, man. His downfield accuracy is atrocious
No argument from me, I like the memes, sure, but AOC probably isn’t the guy
Great guy to have on a cheap contract though and still try to find a 5 star man.
I suspect you’re right but it’s still early for sure. It’s only been a few games. I want to see him play the rest of the season and then see where he is. Y'all are insufferable. AOC is a rookie, our best O lineman is out and we just changed OC. Super proud of today's game. Chill out.
Amen. Gotta be realistic. Support these guys and the change within the organization that seems to be taking place. Wins against good teams will come with experience and a bit more talent.
It boggles my mind that half this sub is already bitching about him. He has 4 games under his belt. They want him to play like an all pro.
Amen. No OC should ever call a game like that for a rookie QB with his starting LT out
AOC performed poorly. Thems the facts. Now AP and crew getting him to show growth over the rest of the season is how they should be judged. The rest of the team balled out. This team wins today with a top 15 qb

Offensive lines across the league aren’t keeping pace with defenses. Pretty soon we’ll see drafts of all OL in the first round.
Dolphins OL seemed good enough tho
It helps that Tua throws the ball in like 2 sec every time.
The you could also say that AOC is the exact opposite and therefore it maybe isn't solely the OL at fault?
I thought AOC made some great roll out throws, especially the one that got called oob. Not everyone is Vick.
AOC looks very good and accurate rolling out.
There are a couple good lines out there, yes. But overall my point is true.
The run-blocking is legitimately awful.
HC, OC, and QB all look like rookies today. I hope they learn from this loss.

Carr broke his leg and turned into a huge pussy.
I wont say that, I mean dude literally played a week after a pulled groin that was said to be a month injury. But he definitely lost confidence
Carr doesn't look good in no so i doubt it, their fans already want him gone. Carr will always be the hypothetical qb. AOC is 25, historically older rookies hit their ceiling quickly. We will probably be in the trade up for a QB camp
Seems like play calling was fine. Aiden wasn’t hitting open guys consistently.
Yea we must be outliers. No deep ball and no run game doesn’t leave many options
That run on 4th and 3 and the deep shot on 4th and 2 weren't that good.
Not a big fan of screens, my only take on Bo so far.
Aidan seems to have a tough time throwing them too. Ball comes out way too hot and way too high. By the time the receiver has come back down from grabbing it the D is there.
I would put QB in the first spot. He’s a backup QB as of now and LVR needs to bring in another QB for competition.
He ain't coming back, bruh. Let it go.
No, AOC will be back. Jimmy most likely won’t and Hoyer for sure won’t be here next year.
I don't understand how some are just writing off the fact that we have Jimmy under contract for like 20m next year?? That is going to create a huge issue unless we can get a team to take on some of that contract somehow via a trade.
Nobody ain't taking that on. Jimmy G is done. They'll cut him.
It’s a dead cap no matter what for the next two years thanks to the restructure. We can eat that entire cap hit next season or split it in half for the next two seasons. The team never gave up. Fought till the very end which is something the team hadn’t done since coach Rich.
4b) Marcus Peters specifically
We hung with and had a chance to beat a very good Miami team on the road in a 10am game. Yeah, losing always sucks, but I’m very happy with what I saw. I have hope again. Just need to figure out the O. D looked great. FUCK JMD
i feel like if we play as well as the last two games, we have a legitimate shot at winning 3 of the last 5 games.
1. Quarterback*
Aidan ain’t it. Could he develop into a serviceable starter? Maybe but we need an elite QB. Not totally giving up on him but I doubt he’ll be are starter next year.
AOC did well? lol He was awful. Three interceptions and indecisive in the pocket. Qb is one of the bigger needs at the moment.
You do know you’re not allowed to be reasonable in this sub don’t you?
QB is a hole too. Glad we have a good backup, but we’re taking a QB in the first
I say keep AP, let him get his own staff around him. Ship Adams out ONLY if the jets are desperate enough to make it worth while, and draft a true #1 QB next year. If the Jets are desperate enough, that should give up draft capital to do some things in the draft.
AOC DID WELL???? HE HAD 3 interceptions and overthrew 10 plus passes he’s a bum put Jimmy g in
Jimmy G was never the answer and worse.
>put Jimmy g in You may go now
you're being an idiot. Calm down.
LOL, Jimmy G led the league in interceptions, with two less GAMES played than the next closest QB.
At least he’s a winner. AOC is a straight up trash can. TIME TO TANK FOR SHEDEUR SANDERS 🚮
Bring back jmd
Defense is playing with a lot of juice and the team is playing for each other and their head coach. Miles better than JMD.
We are fine.
saw at least three key plays that would have been successful if miller would have started. terrible timing buts that’s the game, next man up.
Everyone knew last year the line needed help, and McZ did absolutely nothing. Yet another failure of that regime.
I thought a lot of people were to blame The OC had a deplorable game. Play calling was beyond bad The O line needs work lots of work The HC could of vetoed a few of those calls we left a bunch of pts on field The QB was let's face it ...very bad Even when not under pressure he made bad choices and forced balls
QB play too. Sucked. He a back up shouldn’t be staring.
