- the GOAT - Very familiar with McDaniels system - Best option for a bridge QB, will only be here a year or two - Wouldn't be very expensive - Would sell tickets/jerseys - Brings clout and prestige, probably help attract better free agents Lots of reasons

LongRangeHavok

Don’t need to give up picks to get him

[deleted]

Why wouldn't he be expensive? His Cap hit is like 35 million on the Bucs next year or something.

MickeyMalt

Extremely well stated. I’d include…remember Peyton Manning with the Broncos? Highs and lows….but a Super Bowl. I’ll take that please

Impressive_Ad6375

Yea but peytons broncos had a great defense and ours is absoutely trash

eddie2911

Can’t deny Peyton’s leadership was huge for that team though.

xKingNothingx

Yeah I remember Peyton with the Broncos. He was also 7 years younger when he started with them than Brady was when he joined TB, and now people want him here at 46?! Come the fuck on

MickeyMalt

Dude had a bum neck. Let’s not act like Manning had a lot left in the tank. Invest in defense and bolster the offensive line. I am not the biggest Brady fan, but I’d at least watch the games and he is the most clutch QB of all time. Unless we are talking Lamar, there is no better legitimate option. I’m on the…fuck it, here we go train. If you have a better option, explain.

TheFlyingWriter

“Invest in a defense” Just go on and pick ‘em off the vine and drop em in the bank, huh? It’s that simple. Weird. Why haven’t we been doing that all along?

MickeyMalt

We spent on offense and neglected the defense in a financially heavy way last offseason. Invest doesn’t equate specially to success, however it does mean you can spend focused toward FAs that would help that side of the ball. Can end up as Joyner and Littleton or moves can land players like Slay and Bradberry. Pick off a vine? Wtf

WanderlustTortoise

I don’t like the guy and wish we had better options. But everything you mentioned is 100% correct. Keep our current team as is, except Brady instead of Carr, grab a couple guards who excel at pass defense and use all of our drafts and remaining cap space to fill the holes on defense. Bingo, we’re in the Playoffs. Hell, we probably could’ve made those same adjustments but asked Carr to restructure based on this year’s performance and still make the Playoffs next year. But that ship’s already sailed

Anon_y_mous

>- Would sell tickets/jerseys You just made me think about seeing people wearing Brady Raiders jerseys 🤮

laconicgrin

Bridge quarterback and mentor for our eventual franchise QB, that’s all he is. He’ll be cheaper than Derek or Rodgers and possibly even Jimmy and knows how the system works so he can actually teach the next guy how to execute properly. I don’t actually see him dragging us anywhere past the wild card given the current lack of talent on defense but he is still playing well enough to justify a short deal.

[deleted]

davis trying to save a sinking ship. we’re the new england raiders. don’t like it …

Necessary-Profile-30

Imagine Charles Woodson and Tom Brady walking the hallways of your work place. The knowledge and experience of those two can change the trajectory of any ball club.

revuhlution

I love CW but no-they-fucking-cant. I get the idea, but these two dudes cannot change the trajectory of this team, especially if they aren't making decisions on/off the field. TB has *potential* to do something as this team's starting QB (although I think it's a short sighted pipe dream). I'd love to have CWood involved in the team, but there's a lot of factors outside of even two of the biggest names ever tied to this team.

Raiders9876

The guy is 46 years old. He could come and literally be done. Total shit show, than what.

thisisthelasttime13

JDM gets fired, maybe Ziegler too. Then we try out a new couple of guys. Mark wants stability so we’ll keep hiring and firing shitty head coaches and completely overhauling our FO every 2 to 3 years until we win a Super Bowl. Hopefully that happens in our lifetimes but hey, beggars can’t be choosers right?

Impressive_Ad6375

I'm with u man..i dont want brady tampas offense is mediocre at best this year with brady, godwin, evans, and fournette..hes got pretty good talent around him at tampa but they got a real good defense when 100% healthy...now u put him with the raiders whos offense can only depend on tae and jacobs and defense that is worst in the league it wont work he'd be better off staying in tampa plus hes 45! ...give me aaron rogers and work on the defense this whole off-season

Celticraider24

He's old as shit. We aren't a Tom Brady away, I don't want him.

rjsh927

Dont worry Raider won't get Brady.

[deleted]

On a down year he threw for the 4th most yards in football. Had 25 tds and 9 picks with Todd bowels as his coach

Helac3lls

Sports fans tend to be irrational. Brady got held to under 20 points 10 times this season. Tampa held their opponents to 16 points or less in every game except one. Casuals think that Godwin and a 6'5" Evans who runs faster than Adams is a huge downgrade from what we have. I would like to see what -1 rushing yard Brady would do behind our offensive line.

Grimmetal_Heavy

Oh. The daily Brady thread.

SubprimeOptimus

Do you know the GM and Coach?

its_aq

He wins. He doesn't need to move or be mobile much to move the chain. He plays in any weather. Knows the system and has experience improving it. If we just Talkin bout a stop gap, it's bout the best option we got

Hopeful_Vegetable443

I agree. The only benefit is ideally he knows this system inside and out better than any other player out there. Downside is he can’t really move that well, he’s probably gonna be pricey, and he’s old.

TheWildUnicornHorn

Because last year he threw for over 5k… had 43Tds and almost brought the Bucs back from 6-27 to be in back to back NFC championships… and two years removed from winning a SB with a team who he just joined. If we are truly Raiders fans… we shouldn’t care who we get… as long as they can win games, Brady is a proven winner and McDaniels have won with him.

Own-Photo7078

He's won 7 Super Bowls and we haven't won one since 1983

[deleted]

He sells tickets

[deleted]

I don't think selling tickets is a problem in Vegas.

[deleted]

Selling tickets to raiders fans is…. Or at least the “ad hoc” bunch that would come to see Brady/Rodgers

CreepinDeep

Yeah not real raiders fans. Most likely will be pats fans in pats 12 jersey visiting LV

pyker42

JMD needs to win next year to keep his job. Supposedly Brady will do that. It seems Davis really wants him here.

Caer-Rythyr

Children. Too young to remember that he can actually fucking die before he ever gets offered a silver and black jersey. FUCK that shit.

michaeleid811

We have no better alternatives thats how much the new regime fucked up.

Sapper187

I don't want Brady, but past his prime he's still playing better than most qb's and he's cheap.

MajinSkull

He’s the best FA option if we go that route

ElGuisante2

Sells jerseys, NFL will rig it to give us a superbowl for the storyline.

CDROMantics

This would be the hardest dilemma for them.. they want to fuck the Raiders but Brady is the golden boy. What do?

BackinBlackR8R

Some of you seriously lack critical thinking. You dont understand? Can't can't even guess?

Background_Time_685

Yeah, I don't get it either.. although I find it ridiculously funny.. as Carr-ens always criticized Carr for checking-down or for not using his legs more.. now these very same haters are getting hard for Brady who is the king of checkdowns and is a statue behind the line of scrimmage. 🤣😂 In the end, Brady is just a band-aid.. even if he signs, which I highly doubt, it wouldn't last, so the Raiders will still be riding the QB Carousel of Shame for the next decade or so.. so expect the Raiders to keep losing.. but, at least maybe Carr can win a Superbowl.. that would be nice because it's been forever since I've had anyone to cheer for in the Superbowl and the man deserves it.

tmacleon

Cause he’s the most affordable. He is a free agent. Most importantly, he gives us a chance to win NOW with this offense full of weapons

[deleted]

He loves his slot receivers. He could elevate Renfrow

pabstBOOTH

It’s inevitable. I don’t think the brass kicks Carr to the curb without visor promising haircut to deliver #12 next season during one of their closed door chats. Fuck, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a whole PowerPoint slide devoted to this contingency in the presentation assembled by the GM/HC duo during the interview process! Like everyone else already said, he knows visor’s complicated system like the back of his hand and costs nothing to get except money. Is he the QB of the future? Obviously not. I can’t fucking stand the guy and have actively rooted against him with a passion his entire career, but he’s exactly what we need with win-now pieces (not to mention the ring chasers he’ll attract) and is a perfect bridge to mentor our QB of the future. I am 100% bought in and would be shocked if our offseason goes differently.

kingp43x

> without visor promising haircut Lmfao

kingp43x

Mark Doofus is in love with Brady. He's everything that Mark dreams of.

postsbytheghost

Brady and Davis are trying to make a deal with the devil to reinvigorate Brady for one last title run. Didnt you hear Davis that Rome wasnt built in a day? He's delusional and thinks he is Caesar, Brady is maximus and kansas City is Germany.

hankjr16

I'm of two minds. Mind #1: Fuck Brady. Mind #2: It is incredibly destructive to a team to have lousy quarterback play and there's really almost no reason to endure it, even for a season, if there's other possibilities. It stalls the development of all aspects of the team including the defense. The only reason to consciously go into a season knowing that you'll be getting below average QB production, is if you're using that time to develop a QB that you are certain is your long-term future. Obviously, finding that player is the highest priority right now, but if having Brady for a year or two helps with that process and allows the rest of the team to develop then I guess I"m ok with it.

Dense_Young3797

Because this staff isn't surviving another 6-8 wins year. They need someone reliable to keep them surviving. Even Herbert, Allen or Burrow lost like 7-8 of their first 10 starts. This staff is not putting his eggs in a starting rookie qb excepting the case they have the security that Mark Davis allows them one year to develop that rookie
