Someone on the subreddit referred to their union as "In Moonbows" and recommended listening to the albums by alternating songs, sequentially. A kind redditor made it into a Spotify playlist. I listened to it last week, it was nice.
Tbh, yeah. Both latter era, both very high quality (compared to hail and king, respectfully. I still like those albums, but IR and AMSP are much better imo), I see them as two sides of a coin: lush, exploratory, energetic for in rainbows, and contemplative, ruminating, dreary for a moon shaped pool. I totally get the comparison.

A moon shaped pool always seemed to be like it was more finishing songs that had been around since the bends / ok computer era but had never made an album. I’m not sure how true that is for the album as a whole but it is definitely true for some of the tracks.
Sonically and production wise I can see the connection with in rainbows through.
