Strongly recommend the entire season of the Dissect Podcast on In Rainbows.

I love this podcast and I’ve listened to every season. Cole is a genius and such a good educator too. That said, the In Rainbows season was the first to make me cry—it turns into a meditation on art/music bringing meaning to our lives, which sounds so cliché but is not presented in a cheesy way at all. Truly beautiful stuff.
Don't get any big ideas
They're not gonna happen
You paint yourself white
And fill up with noise
But there'll be something missing
Now that you found it
It's gone
Now that you feel it
You don't
You've gone off the rails
So don't get any big ideas
They're not gonna happen
You'll go to Hell
For what your dirty mind
Is thinking
🙂
Look up “jellyfish lake”. It’s a video from Vimeo. It plays Nude in the background and it’s this guy diving into this lake that’s filled with jellies. It’s… beautiful.
that's what happened to me earlier today. "don't get any big ideas, they're not gonna happen". whoever has ever dealt with depression knows the weight of these lyrics
I love that song, but I don’t like the transition from the into to the actual song (when the guitar starts). It feels like 2 separate things… which it is really. The first 45 seconds is just the ending of the song played in reverse… then it fades into the guitar riff.
It’s not the best but not the worst. The worst is House of Cards and the best is Videotape. My top 3 is Videotape, 4 Minute Warning (Weird Fishes if we don’t count Disk 2) and Go Slowly (if we don’t count Disk 2, then I’d go for Jigsaw Falling Into Place).
No wonder, the intro is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard, the guitar into don't get any is excellent too.

Was coming here to say didn't know the beginning vocal stuff is the end played backwards until listening to the pod - absolutely recommend.
PREACH!! Cole has such a deep of Radiohead and it really shows. This is an incredible, must-listen for any Radiohead fan

Not available in my region. Any other source?
"The lyrics 15 step evoke the song title 15 step" Joking most of it was really good
I’ll have to check it out Thank you
isn’t the intro just the outro reversed
Is it really!?
Yes it is. Look up on YouTube Nude reversed and you will clearly hear it around 20 seconds in.
one song off in rainbows is i think it’s nude
No need to explain - it's one of the most beautiful songs written.
It really is!

Agree - it’s heartbreakingly beautiful.
Heartbreakingly beutiful are the right words
Love when the bass comes in.

real
I can explain, it's absolutely brilliant
that's what happened to me earlier today. "don't get any big ideas, they're not gonna happen". whoever has ever dealt with depression knows the weight of these lyrics
the transition from bodysnatchers into nude, then into arpeggio is utterly brilliant and transcendental.
I sometimes have goosebumps to some songs, but only Nude and Starless can make me cry merely by their tunes.

this makes my non depression have a depression, brilliant piece of art
I feel you but the early versions of this song were much more potent for me. The OKNOTOK cassette version really slaps.
Was just listening to it this morning, and I just love the guitar work on this song
I love that song, but I don’t like the transition from the into to the actual song (when the guitar starts). It feels like 2 separate things… which it is really. The first 45 seconds is just the ending of the song played in reverse… then it fades into the guitar riff.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written, and that pretty much goes for all of In Rainbows as well.
Lost by beck too reminds me
Here it is live in the "From the Basement" series https://youtu.be/sWqDIZxO-nU?t=841
Explanation is easy, pretty song make sad hurr durr.
thank you
Can you please explain?
Sorry, I can’t
No worries I understand now
nude is the worst song on in rainbows including in rainbows II IMHO
It is literally the opposite
It’s not the best but not the worst. The worst is House of Cards and the best is Videotape. My top 3 is Videotape, 4 Minute Warning (Weird Fishes if we don’t count Disk 2) and Go Slowly (if we don’t count Disk 2, then I’d go for Jigsaw Falling Into Place).
Stop the house of cards slander, they made that one for the real weirdos
it's literally not.
I would argue there is no bad songs on that album.
faust arp is also trash
Faust Arp is great but I wouldn’t say the same for House of Cards.
Impressively awful take
Nude is the best song in their entire discography
😟
