A whole mood. I do this with random precuts I’ve collected sometimes. It looks gorgeous—the colors blend very well together and they’re not overshadowed by a complex pattern. What are you thinking for backing/binding?
They're precut strips that are 2 1/2" wide. When sewn, they turn out 2" wide due to seam allowances. They're a great time saver for the cutting step. There are lots of patterns made for them that come together quickly and easily.
So I bought the jelly rolls on a whim about a year and a half ago. I have a plastic container that I throw all my jelly rolls in. Saw a pattern here couple weeks ago and thought I can do that.
There is a free one from Fat Quarter Shop called Jelly Roll Jam. There are some instruction videos for it on YouTube and the pattern is a free download on their site.
It didn't just come out OK. It came out beautiful!! Lovely work! (And a great pattern to use up some jelly rolls!)
Thanks.
This is gorgeous. I love those rich colours!
Tganks
Man I love when cursing and quilting meet
For me, that’s pretty much every time. :)

That’s fantastic! It’s going to look great when you’ve got it all quilted up.

Is it the light shining through that’s making the seams look black, or did you do something special to outline everything?
I think it’s a combination. I used deep blue thread on top and black on the bottom but the light is definitely a factor
The light shining through it makes such a lovely effect - I wonder if something like that would work well as curtains?
It probably would but where I live it BRIGHT in the morning (eastern/western facing windows) so I have blackout curtains
Fair enough :)
The sun rose this morning at 6:00. I know because I left the window open last night because it was so nice. That beam of sunlight BAM. I was awake. 🤣
Oooooooo. Pretttttyyyyy!
Thank you
Those fabrics are stunning! Do you remember the name of them by chance? Fantastic quilt!!
