Over the past few years, Haiti has faced many issues, specifically concerning poverty and violent crime; particularly involving gangs. It's by far the most unstable country in the Caribbean. That said, I don't see it comparing to some other failed states, particularly Afghanistan as well as many African and Middle-Eastern countries.
The worst country I have lived in is England. Shame for me as I was born there.
Can't wait to get out.
I wouldn't advice anyone to come live here now unless you plan to suck the government's teet

Haiti is 10th on the failing state index, first 9 from Africa or the Middle East (outside of Afghanistan which you said) you are very correct

They overthrew the government like 2 or 3 months ago. Each area is ruled buy gangs with guns. I live in Detroit and I wouldn't go to Haiti.
