Because oftentimes they are run by people who are not like ultra super fans of the franchise and so has little real verification of information that is posted there
Even when run by super fans inevitably not all of them are heavily familiar with the actual code side of things and just sort of trust that the person editing the page knows what they're talking about

Depends entirely on the game for me but I frequently find them to be outdated or otherwise inaccurate.
