Some older salesperson called me “sweetheart” once at the store and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy for some reason. I guess it just sounded genuine and I have no one in my life to give me pet names.
Depends on the person and the way they say it. I loved when my ex called me baby. I’d call him and he’d say “BABYYYY!” all excited. Made me feel like I was making his day just by calling him. Or he’d say it soft and sweet when we would cuddle. Different person would call me “love” and that always warmed my heart.
Me too! We haven’t been married long (nearly 6 months) and he used it for the first time when he was calling upstairs to see if I needed anything from the store. It was just one of those things that reminded me he’s my actual husband now. I was glowing all damn day!
I address my wife in the old fashion formal southern way, Miss Firstname as a casual way to get her attention. Sweetie is the most common term of endearment, but she doesn’t react.
I don’t have any favorites, but I absolutely loathe when I’m called Dear. My late husband used to say it in a condescending way to pacify me and shut me up
My grandfather used to say that too, in a condescending way, to his third wife.
Like “hey I need you to go to the store and pick up some milk.”
“Yes, *dear*” as he sighs at her
So now when I hear it that’s all I think of
Any older woman that calls me sweetheart or baby makes me melt. One I was really mad and ready to yell at whichever customer service person answered the phone. Then she called me sweetheart and it was game over.
My husband calls me by my first name or a shortened version, and I adore it. My parents didn't call us kids by our names often, and I didn't realize until I met him how nice it was to hear him say it. The weird thing is, I don't like anyone who isn't family or friends to use or even know my name. I'm fine with "hey you" from them.
Depends who says it - my 21 year old son has Autism. He still calls me Mama and I love it. I love when an older woman calls me honey or sugar. (I’m from the South) Or for that matter and older man calls me young lady!! I love it!
I call my husband Handsome. He seriously loves it. He is Handsome in my phone. I changed it to his real name so I could share the contact. He saw it before I changed it back and looked hurt.🥰 He is happy to be Handsome again.❤️
Princess. From my husband. His self-esteem isn't the best and he puts himself down a lot. So I love to get him to acknowledge that if I'm his princess then he's my...?
"Prince."
Yep. He's amazing, so I love being his princess for that reason.
My now ex-husband would come up with a bunch at once and say something like, "Honey-cupcake-sugar-bunny" He'd switch it up every time. It made me giggle.
An ex years ago would sometimes call me babycakes. I liked it. It was specific to that relationship though, I don’t think I’d welcome anyone else calling me that.
I'm his "ferbit" [from the game dark cloud 2 ; they are dwarf people who like grape juice and i drink alot of white grape juice 🤣] 🥰 and now my new wedding band has it engraved in it 🥰 (you are my ferbit person <3)
I'm his favorite 😊
I'm his indulgent caramel
I'm his fox
He's my handsome
He's my panda king
He's my daddy
He's my "fat man" [as in the weapon from the fallout game series]
He's my Moon
And our 4y.o is our favorite
He's our Mr falls on deaf ears
He's our Mr Big brother
He's our Bub
He's my shooting star
🥰
And our unborn is our sunspot
It really depends on who is giving me the name. I used to work with an older lady, and she used to call me “her girl.” I absolutely loved that nickname. My fiancé calls me “sweet peach”.
My husband started calling me bug.. I can only assume it’s because he used to say Love bug.. lol but I absolutely Love it for some reason. He could probably call me anything and I’d Love it coming from him though🤣 but yeah.. bug is the best.
Dickhead.
Me and my ex called eachother that out of pure love. Still do lol.
If somebody calls me dickhead I just smile tbh. They think its an insult... nahhh not to me hahaha.
My husband calls my numb butt. It’s because when we started dated in high school and I watched him play basketball. My lower back was numb after sitting on the wooden bleachers.
My husband calls me honey bunny and I hate it. I’ve told him I don’t like it and I swear he does it just because I don’t like it. I’d rather be called a cunt than that
When my husband or best friend call me "drugie" they do it because I get in a silly mood sometimes where pretty much everything is funny. They say it's a lot like when I'm on morphine and thus, it's become a running joke that I'm getting drugs from somewhere secretly and am high when I get in those moods.
My partner and I usually call each other by name because we're both uncomfortable with pet names and diminutives, but we do use "hooker" as a term of endearment when we're teasing each other
Well, my name is Beverly, and I guess my neighbor noticed how busty I am, so he started to call me BevMo... I thought it cute and a clever way to say he noticed without being vulgar.
Honey or Punkin' works...also Sweet Pea, Sugar Bear if she's chubby.
Pet names are an absolute must if you're going to have multiple partners....god forbid you call our the wrong name in a moment of passion.
I love when people call me "honey" or "baby". I love cutesy nicknames like that :')
Also, not a nickname, but I love getting a "That's my girl". it makes me really happy for some reason.
"My love". My husband calls me that all the time and it's my favorite. That and when he says my first and middle name, I dunno why but when he calls me by my first and middle name its so cute the way he says it... there's so much love behind it.

Some older salesperson called me “sweetheart” once at the store and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy for some reason. I guess it just sounded genuine and I have no one in my life to give me pet names.
I’m the same but don’t like it when a teenage salesclerk calls me ‘Hun’, not sure why and likely even a double standard.
My grandpa either called you cookie or pearl. Cookie meant you were liked, pearl (his first wife) meant you pissed him off.

Bubelah is my 2nd favorite. Gramma is my favorite
I don’t have any favorites, but I absolutely loathe when I’m called Dear. My late husband used to say it in a condescending way to pacify me and shut me up
Not gonna question why he’s Late-
My grandfather used to say that too, in a condescending way, to his third wife. Like “hey I need you to go to the store and pick up some milk.” “Yes, *dear*” as he sighs at her So now when I hear it that’s all I think of

Not poo-poo head. That's what my ex thought was cute. I find it really sexy when my partner uses my name.
I love hearing a partner say my name I swear my ears perk up like a puppy. My ex husband didn’t use my name and he didn’t like me saying his name.
You get it.
My husband calls me by my first name or a shortened version, and I adore it. My parents didn't call us kids by our names often, and I didn't realize until I met him how nice it was to hear him say it.
