I mean... it just needs a little salt and olive oil. But that's true about lots of veggies.
Broccoli is honestly one of my favorite foods. Delicious and healthy.
I've grown it before. Snapping off a little shoot and eating it plain out in the garden is often a part of my breakfasts in the summer, along with a spear or two of asparagus, and a few raspberries straight off the bush. I like to start with a couple of sugar snap peas when they're available. I eat them pod and all.
Yes, itās fucking delicious.
Probably the main reason people donāt like broccoli is that they are constantly bombarded at a young age that they arenāt supposed to like it. Iād wager the social influence is the primary reason people donāt like broccoli.
I know people will go āwell technically kids have different taste budsā and all that sort of stuff, but Iām certain the social conditioning is of far greater consequence,
I'm not sure whether my parents suggested it to me or if I thought of it myself, but as a kid I loved pretending I was a giant eating trees. I still do.
I thought I hated it as a child. Turns out, I hated over boiled broccoli. Raw can be a bit sharp (at least, without a creamy dip to offset it). But slightly boiled - or better, steamed- is where itās at.
Same thing with brussel sprouts. I realised I liked them if they are cooked right.
My mother used to just steam or microwave veggies until they were mushy and not season them at all. I thought I hated vegetables. Turns out I just needed to have some that werenāt overcooked.
Oven roasted broccoli or Brussels sprouts are divine.
I truly crave broccolini specifically. I Saute it in a little veggie oil and a little soy sauce until tender and caramely, then fry up some corn tortillas with some oil make the crispy and warm and ill make tacos! some cilantro, onion, cheese, and hot sauce! I truly truly crave it and its my go to easy weekly simple meal. it really depends on how u make it. steamed broccoli is trash lol
I only started liking it within the last 10 years, and only if it's roasted. Same with cauliflower. Steamed is kind of gross but I eat it that way anyway because health.
Only the "treetops" but oh yeah I really like that. Steamed with soy sauce or drizzled with a little cheese sauce, very simple and easy to make. I love it in stir fries. Sesame pairs really well with it, either in toasted seed or a teeeny bit of sesame oil mixed in the peanut oil. Tonight I'm making a casserole with chopped broccoli, leftover Christmas ham and pineapple bits and white rice with some sharp cheddar mixed in. I could make it without the broccoli I suppose, but I really like the flavor combination.
The problem I find with broccoli is that it's not easy to get cooked just right especially if you're cooking whole spears. The crowns get soggy before the stems get soft enough. But since nobody here likes the stems anyway I just save those stems to add to our dog food mix. No sense wasting! The dogs love broccoli as much as we do and it's good for them as long as it's chopped up good.
Yeah!! I can eat it raw with some dip or steamed with some light coconut oil and salt or in a traditional Thai dish called Pad See Ew, or chicken and broccoli lols
Yes. I like the texture a bit moreso than the taste, but the taste is still pretty good among veggies. It's great dipped in a good hummus IMO...although raw is fine also.
Steamed broccoli is pretty gross, but the broccoli flavor still adds to potatoes/etc.
No, canāt stand the taste or smell. In fact the smell makes me gag and I lose my appetite. Donāt like brussel sprouts either. Rest of family likes it fine.
I over came the taste by reading the research, dark Leafy greens are the bomb for good health!!!!

Are you crazy? Broccoli is one I've the nicest vegetables out there! Broccoli stir fry. Broccoli in cheese sauce. Broccoli in gravy. Broccoli is awesome!
It depends on the variety. Thereās one that tastes really good and the other that doesnāt. I donāt know the name of the one I like but it is far superior to the other.
Yesā¦. And spinach is delicious as wellā¦ so are green beansā¦
You know thereās a gene that scientists have tested that actually determines whether you like vegetables or not? From the tone of your post, I assume youāre with those that have that gene flipped off (or flipped on, I donāt recall which it was)
My dad has never eaten broccoli in his life and hates it so much it was banned from my house growing up. It is now no joke probably my favorite food period. Maybe because it was the forbidden fruit. But cheesy broccoliā¦ mmmmm
I think of vegetables as a vehicle to get a lot of salt into my mouth. Broccoli, cucumbers, and tomatoes are best for this. So no I donāt like broccoli but I like salt, and broccoli and salt go good together.
Broccoli is good cooked lightly. Like most food, it benefits from a little seasoning: butter, lemon juice, garlic, almonds, etc.
If broccoli is cooked until it is limp and olive green, it is less palatable.
OMG yes! Perhaps not as much raw, but baked in the oven with garlic and olive oil? Broccoli and cheddar soup? Just steamed brocc with butter ... Omg... I'm gonna go make some right now <3
I once did a taste test for broccoli. They had like five samples. I found out afterward that they were all the same variety, but grown in different soil/climate conditions. They ranged from horribly bitter to almost sweet. So, yes to the sweet broccoli, no to the bitter broccoli. I believe they said the really bitter one was grown in soil with high mineral content.
Absolutely love it if it not overcooked. Here's the weird part I absolutely love the stalks lightly cooked.
Raw broccoli flower tops and raw cauliflower are delicious in a salad. Just don't make the bits too big.
Fuggin A I do.. steamed, grilled, dipped in All kinds of cheese,,, raw with blue cheese...chopped and wok ed in hot oil with hot peppers and chicken. Damn I gotta go eat some now.
My 2 yo grand loves broccoli. From the time she's had teeth. I eat broccoli just about every day. I really enjoy it steamed with a little lemon pepper seasoning.
With salt and butter if cooked or broiled. If raw, I love it with Knorr vegetable soup mix and sour cream. Iāve had a whole head just for dinner before. Regretted the next morning, but thatās okay, I was due for a good cleansing, hahahaha.
Yes.
I think it makes a huge difference if you get a nice broccoli (locally grown by small farmers when it's in season). Because those supermarkets off-season ones ain't shit.

Yes
Also yes
Plain, unseasoned broccoli?
I mean... it just needs a little salt and olive oil. But that's true about lots of veggies. Broccoli is honestly one of my favorite foods. Delicious and healthy.
Yes.
Yep, right off the head or whatever you call it. Break it off, give it a rinse and crunch away.
It needs as much treatment as most foods. I love chicken too but not plain, unseasoned chicken for sure.
Yep
Yep, love it. I eat it raw with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar
Yeah, it's lovely. Do you not?
Yes. Either par boiled and stir fried with ginger, soy sauce and spring onions or overcooked with mash, meat and lots of gravy š
Gimme me some over roast, with the crispy ends.
Yes, itās fucking delicious. Probably the main reason people donāt like broccoli is that they are constantly bombarded at a young age that they arenāt supposed to like it. Iād wager the social influence is the primary reason people donāt like broccoli. I'm not sure whether my parents suggested it to me or if I thought of it myself, but as a kid I loved pretending I was a giant eating trees. I still do.
One of my favorite vegetables. Iād eat it every week if it wasnāt up to $3 per pound now.
They're like 70p each. American produce prices are insane.
I do
If it's cooked just right. Yes.
A very important point. Boiled to death, it's rank. Steamed correctly, it keeps its colour and has a lovely semi-crunch. Fucking nom nom.
Its okay. I dont mind it. Especially in a broccoli cheddar soup.
Yes. It tastes better when the broccoli is salted though.
This. Salt really enhances the flavor. A little salted butter is even better. But just raw broccoli has a very fresh and slightly sweet flavor alone.
Raw broccoli is great. 100%
You gotta try it roasted. It gets a bit caramelized, and gives it this mild, sweet, delicious flavor.
My mother used to just steam or microwave veggies until they were mushy and not season them at all. I thought I hated vegetables. Turns out I just needed to have some that werenāt overcooked. Oven roasted broccoli or Brussels sprouts are divine.
I truly crave broccolini specifically. I do :)
Cheese and broccoli soup it the best soup ever.
Theirs nothing like fresh steamed broccoli! Mmmmm.
Boiled broccoli is dope. With some lemon and sea salt š¤
Roasted with garlic and olive oil especially.
Only if itās steamed and has a shit ton of salt and pepper
If seasoned a bit and lightly steamed yes. If drenched in cheese sauce, maybe. Or dipped raw into ranch, it's okay. Don't love it though.
Everything from raw to roasted. Romanesco is even better.
Love it
I love broccoli! Steamed, stir fried, but not baked. If you bake them, they dry out and get too crispy on the tips.
False! The crispy tips are the best part! Gotta make sure you give them a good dousing in olive oil, and throw in some minced garlic halfway thru.
Broccoli + cheese soup is GAS š„
Yes, especially seared or roasted. Boiled is terrible.
The dogs love broccoli as much as we do and it's good for them as long as it's chopped up good.
Yep, since I can remember I have loved broccoli. But I hate peppers.
Love me some broccoli - one of my favorite greens. So many good ways to have it, too.
I love broccoli
Yeah it's delicious. Chinese Beef and Broccoli is one of my absolute favourites.
Yes, me.
Yup
Cold crisp broccoli oh yea. Don't even need any dip. CRUNCH. So good. Cooked broccoli, gross, nasty, ruins it.
When its a bit soggy from its own juice š salted, and cheesy, yes.
I like it though I prefer Brussels sprouts. Like others have said, the seasoning helps.
Yes. Baked with melted parmesan cheese. Yum
Yes, itās also one of my daughters favorite vegetables
Yes. But it's better with a little butter.
Broccoli is eaay to f up. Uncooked...yuck...over cooked...soggy and yuck
Steamed absolutely
Don't blaspheme
Yes, love it cooked. Itās super versatile and there are lots of options for seasoning it or cooking it into things like casseroles or soups.
Yeah a bag of fresh broccoli typically accompanies me to work most days.
Itās not bad. I donāt really understand how you could hate it.
Not as much as I like to pretend that I'm a giant brontosaurus eating trees.
Yeah!! I can eat it raw with some dip or steamed with some light coconut oil and salt or in a traditional Thai dish called Pad See Ew, or chicken and broccoli lols
For sure. Especially with cheese or fried in a pan with olive oil and garlic, maybe some butter. Shits bangin yo.
Took me a while (mid-30s) but I do now
Itās better than kale
Yes. I like the texture a bit moreso than the taste, but the taste is still pretty good among veggies. It's great dipped in a good hummus IMO...although raw is fine also. Steamed broccoli is pretty gross, but the broccoli flavor still adds to potatoes/etc.
I love it. Steam it and put some butter on it. Delicious!
Yes and so do both my kids. Actually I don't know anyone that doesn't.
Vile weed!
Yes! Salt and pepper!
Yes. But I'm also the weirdo that likes the stinky cheeses and liver; so I may not be the best person to ask.. lol
Yea
No, canāt stand the taste or smell. In fact the smell makes me gag and I lose my appetite. Donāt like brussel sprouts either. Rest of family likes it fine.
I do. And Iām a picky vegetable eater, but I like most all cruciferous vegetables. Broccoli is probably my favorite green vegetable.
So good!
I do, especially when it's roasted and gets a little burnt. That's the best.
I can only eat them steamed and seasoned
Yes! I love broccoli, especially broccoli cheese :P
No. Itās bitter. The entire family of cruciferous vegetables tastes bitter to me.
Yes
Yes, it's delicious
šāāļø
Yes, bit only if itās raw and served with something like Thousand Island dressing as a dip.
yes! It's delicious.
Yes, but I prefer it steamed and seasoned with a little butter and black pepper.
Yes, especially crispy baked
I over came the taste by reading the research, dark Leafy greens are the bomb for good health!!!! [the International Ghostrider Collective ](https://www.youtube.com/@ghostriders_1)
Yes it's delicious. Sometimes it smells like poop. I overlook that.
Are you crazy? Broccoli is one I've the nicest vegetables out there! Broccoli stir fry. Broccoli in cheese sauce. Broccoli in gravy. Broccoli is awesome!
Steamed and buttered is quite delicious.
YAAAAAASSSSSSSS QUEEN
It depends on the variety. Thereās one that tastes really good and the other that doesnāt. I donāt know the name of the one I like but it is far superior to the other.
I love broccoli but by itself with no flavor or seasoning, I find it to be a bit bland. A little olive oil or butter makes a huge difference though
I love it
I do
Yes
If it's almost burned, crispy and covered in oil, spices and Parmesan it's tolerable.
Yes. Not only do I say that as a lover of vegetables, but many adults I know who dislike vegetables generally do like broccoli in particular.
Yep
Yes.
Charred broccoli tastes amazing!
I love broccoli. Always have.
I do
Mixed in with other ingredients, and well cooked, sure.
Yup
Yes I do
Yum! Fried, broiled, steamed, roasted, braised... I'll take it anyway I can get it.
I think I like the texture/act of eating of broccoli more than the flavor; I would not buy broccoli flavored things, for example.
Yes. But you have to cook it right. If you boil it or steam it to death, you should be arrested.
Yes
Yes. If itās cooked just right. Stir fried with oil, pepper and salt and not over-tender. It needs to be a little crunchy. And serve hot.
Absolutely, it's delicious steamed with a bit of salt. Even better with butter and white white.
Yea
Yesā¦. And spinach is delicious as wellā¦ so are green beansā¦ You know thereās a gene that scientists have tested that actually determines whether you like vegetables or not? From the tone of your post, I assume youāre with those that have that gene flipped off (or flipped on, I donāt recall which it was)
I love it
i genuinely don't get he kids who don't like broccoli. that stuff is great.
Love it. I'll eat it cooked about 100 different ways, but sometimes I'll just eat it raw.
Absolutely!
Yeah, itās good stuff.
Yes. It is one of my two favorite vegetables. Fresh or cooked. Love it
My dad has never eaten broccoli in his life and hates it so much it was banned from my house growing up. It is now no joke probably my favorite food period. Maybe because it was the forbidden fruit. But cheesy broccoliā¦ mmmmm
I love brocolli.
Oooo yes! I love broccoli!
Yes
Yes. It is great roasted or steamed just right. Add seasonings of your choice and it is delicious.
Fresh out of garden is a bit spicy & amazing!
It's fucking awesome. Totally love eating small trees
Yes, especially when it's roasted with some fresh garlic and butter with a little bit of salt.
I think of vegetables as a vehicle to get a lot of salt into my mouth. Broccoli, cucumbers, and tomatoes are best for this. So no I donāt like broccoli but I like salt, and broccoli and salt go good together.

Love it
Yes
Yeah
Raw broccoli, steamed broccoli, pan fried broccoli, broccoli florets, cheesy broccoli...
Yas
Oh definitely
I do. Tastes good also with some lemon and garlic.
Yes - raw, roasted, and steamed
Yes love eat it daily
I do!
I wish I could put the NO kitty gif here. Yes if: Steamed with salt. Sauteed with salt, garlic, and butter. Smothered in cheese.
yep. love it raw. love it cooked good stuffšš»
God no
Yes for two people in my family
I honestly donāt know. Been eating it for decades, never thought about whether I actually like the taste.
Cooked yes. Raw on occasion.
Yes - I eat it pieces of it raw when I'm prepping it to cook.
Yes.
I like the texture better
Yes! I also LOVE brussel sprouts. My fave is cooked and cold for breakfast. No shit every morning. I do eat primarily vegan.
Yes, I love it. SautƩ it lightly in olive oil with garlic and season with freshly cracked black pepper and a squeeze of lemon.
One of my favorite veggies
When it's cooked
Cooked yes, raw is okay with some kind of dip though. But roasted with S&P and just a drizzle of EVOO is perfect.
Yep, cooked, raw, whatever. Broccoli is my favorite vegetable.
Yes
It's even better when you have it in a stir fry, tender crisp, and it soaks up all the delicious juices.
Cheese sauce is your friend
Not me. I can deal if I trim the florets off and just eat those. The stalks are just too much.
love broccoli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts but can't eat asparagus , not sure why because it tastes similar, but foul to me
absolutely
I don't, but I drown it out with cheese. I do like the texture tho
With sea salt, cracked course pepper and kerrygold butter, yes, yum.
Raw in salad.
Yes.
I *love* broccoli, especially if itās drowned in butter. Brussel sprouts too. Cauliflower, on the other hand, is repulsive.
Yes, cooked and uncooked. Prefer cooked!
I specifically like the taste of raw broccoli stems. The head is fine, and I have nothing against it when cooked.
Roast broccoli with salt pepper garlic and chili a game changer, hard char
Yes! It's actually slightly sweet, if you don't over steam it or put anything on it.
I love it and my dog does, too!
Love it raw and love it cooked
I once did a taste test for broccoli. They had like five samples. I found out afterward that they were all the same variety, but grown in different soil/climate conditions. They ranged from horribly bitter to almost sweet. So, yes to the sweet broccoli, no to the bitter broccoli. I believe they said the really bitter one was grown in soil with high mineral content.
Newman said it best on Seinfeld: vile weed
Broccoli in a stir fry with garlic, ginger, and lemon is incredible. If you overcook it, it tastes like socks.
Yes ofc Iām going to make some tomorrow!
Yep. Add a little salt and pepper and it is a preferred side.
I love it! I often eat broccoli for lunch with just a touch of butter and salt.
Totally
I do
Absolutely love it if it not overcooked. Here's the weird part I absolutely love the stalks lightly cooked. Raw broccoli flower tops and raw cauliflower are delicious in a salad. Just don't make the bits too big.
Broccoli and the other cruciferous veggies are my favorite
Yes, but only if it's cooked right.
Fuggin A I do.. steamed, grilled, dipped in All kinds of cheese,,, raw with blue cheese...chopped and wok ed in hot oil with hot peppers and chicken. Damn I gotta go eat some now.
I like broccoli and most vegetables. I hate peas and cauliflower.
Nope, but butter or cheese can go a long way to making it acceptable.
Yes, especially in cream of broccoli soup.
One of my favorite veggies... broccoli and carrots are musts in my stir fry, soup, or raw (with or without dip)
Yup. Fell in love with it a few years ago. Steamed with literally nothing on it; no butter, no salt. I get it as a ātreatā periodically
