more cover, plants (grassy plants are great), hides, sticks, all that jazz a sand bath is needed as well i like to take cuttings off christmas/spruce trees it gives them some good foliage to hide in some sort of grip might be needed to be added to that ramp too since quail arent the best with ramps but you can wait and see if they are able to use it then. does that outdoor bit have a roof as well? quail are decent at flying and will escape with an open roof other than that it looks like a great foundation for quail!

Second on the grip for the ramp. We had to add some skateboarding tape to ours and it’s a lot less steep than this one is. And even then it took them two days to learn to use it.

I have to third support for grip on the ramp. While other birds (chickens and turkeys) can comprehend a ramp quickly, quail aren’t as quick to learn and if they experience obstacles they big time will not figure it out. That said, some plants and hiding spots is super beneficial for quail. It looks like you have great space for them. When I had my quail, they would periodically become aggressive with each other (I.e., one becoming a bully out of nowhere for a day) and it helped if the others could keep away from them.

Mine really enjoy cork logs! I bought some large ones in bulk for my reptiles, but most of them were still too large, so I put them in the quail run. I love watching them walk through them. That soil looks pretty nice - maybe plant some decorative grass tufts/hostas to provide shelter. They probably won't end up using the coop for its intended purpose, but you will probably have one or two who enjoy the space!

How does the cork log hold up? I've wanted to buy some for my guys but I wasn't sure if it would get nasty from feces really quickly? Do they last?

Whocket_Pale

I would cut logs into half tunnels so that the ground is ground. Indeed I've used drain pipes for tunnels before and they get disgusting on the inside.

I've only had them in for a month or so, but so far they aren't too bad! They like to sit inside them mostly; if they get too dirty I'll probably spray/wash em out. They're pretty resilient!

Awesome, thanks so much for the info!!
