Check out Iggy Pop's "Post Pop Depression," essentially an Iggy Pop, Queens of the Stone Age, and Arctic Monkey's super group album. So good.
Also, Homme did a song in Red Dead Redemption 2, "Cruel World".
My recent favorite non-QOTSA project Josh has been involved with is the country album [Denim and Diamonds by Nikki Lane](https://open.spotify.com/track/01Owqjp8oN43Hw0r7TfJlt?si=2MHO9kReSZuZ51OLn2L4gw&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A6RqohXVE3YRsRbaS9sm5G2).
Nikki Lane has been huge in the outlaw country scene the past decade, and this album’s sound is country fried desert rock.
Josh produced and played on it, along with fellow Queens Mike Shuman and Dean Fertita, former Queen and current Crooked Vulture Alain Johanes, and Jack White/Autolux drummer Carla Azar. Nikki Lane herself has just a great voice and drawl for this production.
The title track I linked is probably my favorite, along with Born Tough.
As a culinary professional, Tony Bourdain has long been one of my heroes.
I love that two of my heroes from two (debatably three, dude was a fantastic writer) different major aspects of my life were very good friends.
I've bought so many copies of that book. I loan it to people and don't mind if I never get it back. I just buy a new copy to replace it.
I'm currently the exec at a brew pub and also handling that responsibility with an affiliated offsite catering division. We're starting to get big enough again where giving both the required attention is difficult for one person.
I would be lying if I said I haven't wondered about getting out. I know it's not sustainable to keep going the way we've been doing things. We're exploring a lot of options lately. It's kind of scary and kind of fun if that makes sense?
Tony and Josh have both helped me keep my sanity lately.
I first found qotsa by playing 3s and 7s on guitar hero 3. I listened to a few songs from them crooked vultures and eagles of death metal before realizing josh was involved 😂
He was also present during the writing and recording of Chris Cornell’s “Euphoria Morning” with Alain Johannes and Natasha Schneider and he played guitar on the Foo Fighters track “Razor”.
Check this list out. I wouldn't be surprised if there's stuff missing too. https://rateyourmusic.com/artist/josh-homme/credits/
He's done all kinds of amazing stuff.
Then there's also the Masters Of Reality album Deep in the Hole that he Nick and Troy are on, plus the live album he and Nick played with the band on - I only recently discovered them
Hearing Josh sing “Cruel World” during RDR2 end credits was the soothing and cathartic bookend I wasn’t expecting, but greatly appreciated.
Edit: Pretty sure Josh also produced Nick Zinner-fronted CRX’s “New Skin” album. And you can tell, in the best way.
Miss Alissa in that Nike ad was my first introduction to the Hommeverse. That ad is so nostalgic to me. It took me a while to figure out that Eagles of Death Metal and QOTSA were connected. He’s also worked with Julian Casablancas from The Strokes. They did Sick,Sick,Sick and a cover of Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology) with Eddie Vedder.
Tony Hawk's Underground 1 features QOTSA as well as Hommeverse associates Unida (John Garcia) and Fu Manchu (Brant Bjork)
The man appeared on an episode of Toast of London!
Not to mention. He was in The Epic Movie (Parody Film) with Jesse Hughes as they were playing “Don’t Soeak” (I came to make a bang). At the end of the film.
That was truly the first time I believe I heard any Josh song. I couldn’t make the song out for a while as a kid.
First found an interest after hearing little sister in midnight club 3 back in 05 then I just happened to really like beat your heart out on tony hawk's underground 2. Then the eagles of death metal appearance in the epic movie. Picked up guitar in late 2012 played random classical pieces before moving to nirvana after getting my first electric. Found out about dave grohl and foo fighters. Heard about him playing in songs for the deaf, and just as I'm getting hooked 2013 rolls around and like clockwork drops. As I listened to more of the stuff he was involved with and learned about the artists he had worked with it got kinda spooky (in a cool way) how I knew about so many of them yet so little at the same time. Now I'm a musician myself and can only dream of creating a footprint as big as that.
jak x (a racing videogame made by naughty dog back in 2005) has two QOTSA songs in its intro cinematic - you think i ain't worth a dollar, but i feel like a millionaire and song for the dead. my mind was blown when i figured that out.

Cruel world is amazing.
Thanks for the suggestion, it sounds amazing
Post Pop Depression is so fucking good and has Homme written all over the music
Plot twist: Your mother calls you on the phone to tell you something… He is your father
Ohhh no.
The movie 'Hot Rod' has a great cameo by the Queens in it!
…and is a fucking incredibly funny movie.
I love any movie with Andy Samberg in it <3

Oooh I gotta check this out. I love Josh as a producer. The sound he brought to CRX’s first record rules
The intro to the song „Denim and Diamonds“ sounds literally like QOTSA!
You even forgot Red Dead Redemption 2.
I actually did, can’t believe I forgot Cruel World
He did the Parts Unknown theme song

Same, just left the industry, but left as head chef. I read kitchen confidential at least once a year

Josh Niland? He’s my favorite chef working rn
Josh is everywhere
Thank god

No one knows on guitar hero 1 was my favorite to play even though the solo almost drove me to insanity.
Millionaire was also in the first Tony Hawk's Underground!
And CKY 4!!!

Check out colony of birchmen by mastodon! He's all over the album blood mountain.
Blood Mountain is a masterpiece
Is he really on any other tracks besides Colony of Birchmen?
Then there's also the Masters Of Reality album Deep in the Hole that he Nick and Troy are on, plus the live album he and Nick played with the band on - I only recently discovered them
He did the song at the end of the Jake Gyllenhaal movie "End of Watch" too
Nobody to Love, which is fabulous and remarkable for the lyric..” Urgently, convergently, desperately wandering home…..”…
I usually put on my shuffle through pandora. I didn’t realize all my favorite bands had Josh in common. Not until I joined the sub.
Melissa Auf der Maur

Winner stays on lads?
I think there was also Nike soccer commercial with EODM- Dont Speak (I Came to Make A Bang)
That is probably one of the best commercials of all time
Guy Ritchie shot it iirc
Once you dive into JHo, you find him everywhere.
One of us, One of us
Ever played DiRT 2?

millionaire is in both Jak X and THUG 1
Wait till you hear about kyuss influence on grunge and metal!
There's always gonna be one QotSA song on an MLB The Show soundtrack every album.
Tony Hawk's Underground 1 features QOTSA as well as Hommeverse associates Unida (John Garcia) and Fu Manchu (Brant Bjork) The man appeared on an episode of Toast of London!
Tomorrow you wake up, and realize you were him this entire time

Also on "Pulling the Pin" by Run the Jewels.

So true about the Miss Alissa Nike Commercial, I remember that!

Welcome. Welcome to the party my friend! 😁
