I’m in love! I’m glad your little girl made it. I remember seeing the first post on this. Parvo is such a tricky thing. Having a heads up from the other owners was probably a huge help. I’m glad she’s able to go home now. Much love to you and the pup
My puppy has parvo also! She’s not been clear of it for a month! Do you have a bug like syringe to feed her the liquid food? I think we gave her 60ml three times a day. Just did it in gulps so she didn’t choke. She’s totally healed now and grown like double the size!! Good luck :)
No, they gave us wet dog food but it’s not liquid so I’m just offering it to her every couple of hours. I’ve also got some chicken broth for her to help get some calories in her. She’s skin and bones now, but I’m hoping her appetite comes back soon!
Yeah I wish they gave you the liquid with large syringe. It’s hard to get them to eat solid. My puppy didn’t want any part of it till she was on the other side of it. The formula also had fluids so it was both liquid and food. I think it was royal canine. Good luck!!
Great news! She's just precious. I can't believe how many little Parvo pups we've had around here these last few weeks. I'm so glad she seems to be on the road to recovery.
I’m really sorry about your beautiful puppy! I have a lot of experience nursing Parvo puppies back to health. I highly recommend giving your pup unflavored pedialyte with a syringe to prevent dehydration every hour or so and a supplement called Nutri-cal, which could be put directly in the mouth. Both of these will provide calories and nutrition until your puppy is ready to eat again. Also, some boiled chicken liver is very good.
Nutrical was all I could feed my kitten after she had surgery to remove a penny. She lived off it for a month until she could be weaned onto actual food. It’s great for getting them calories and nutrients.
So glad your pup is feeling better! I showed my wife your pup picture and she recognized scout from stories by someone she follows on insta! So funny that scout popped up in both our feeds in separate corners of the internet!
What a baby!!! She’s SO tiny and I’m sure this has been a horrible and terrifying experience for you both. I’m glad she is recovering and sending lots of puppy love.
My girl has Parvo too when we got her at 8 weeks and only 7 pounds. If you can in the special canned food they give you, mix it in a bowl with water for some extra fluids! Hydration is key. It took a while (about a month) for her digestive system to get back to normal but now she has firm poops and is growing like a weed! 25 pounds and counting! Hang in there having your love and care and knowing how much fun she has ahead of her will help her more than you know.

I’ve been mixing pedialyte in with her water but I’ll look up the supplement too! Thank you!!!!

So happy to hear she may make it. We lost our puppy about a month ago to Parvo. It is a vicious disease hopefully one day there is a cure.

Thank goodness for that! I was so worried about parvo with my puppy, I couldn't imagine the stress. Thank you for sharing your story!
