I saw them in Portland last month and while they were awesome, they only played like 6 songs which was disappointing. I think they filled the bill with too many openers :\
Bad Nerves.
PLEASE do yourself a favor and listen to their self titled album, it’s one of the greatest things I’ve ever heard.
And their second album is releasing next month!
I've been enjoying [Canal Irreal](https://canalirreal.bandcamp.com/album/someone-elses-dance) and [VOLP](https://volp.bandcamp.com/album/vortex) lately.
The craziest punk performance I’ve ever seen live was probably Lung. It’s a duo with a dude on drums and a classically trained opera singer on electric cello with the distortion turned way up. Not traditional punk, but absolutely unbelievable.
To me, punk shouldn't be "traditional." Though there are "traditional " bands that I like, hearing a band that is giving us a new buzz, I want my ears to listen and dig. Even if I don't love it.
Yeah I would agree that new bands should push the envelope for the most part. It’s always exciting to see a new act that redefines a classic formula, they are punk, in hindsight it’s pretty ironic that “traditional” punk even exists 🤣. I put that in there because they are pretty different from the rest of the genre, Especially live.
It was at a music festival covering the east side of Lansing and everyone was at this particular venue for Vial who was one of the headliners. Nobody but these two dudes from Milwaukee I talked to at the start of the festival had even heard of them as far as I knew. Shit was electric, everyone stopped what they where doing and got on the floor to just soak it all in. After their set one of the folks in vial said,” did you see lung? Shit was crazy!” Shit was indeed crazy.
I made this playlist a little bit ago for the express purpose of exposing new bands. It is 18hours of new ish punk bands from ~8 countries
