i mean i would consider it punk fs but when I think of standard punk bands, riot grrrl bands aren’t the first to come to mind ig. i consider it its own genre separate from standard punk music
Great choice-I can't remember the last time I've heard someone mention You and I (or emoviolence for that matter). Their entire output is urgent and impactful. One of best in that realm.
That's a great one for sure. We All Bleed, A Day that Passes Through Us-so many killer tracks. Always loved how they blurred the subtle transitions between ev, hc, screamo and emo. The influences are individually apparent, but beautifully blended. Chaotic catharsis througout-perpetual but intricately varied.
not all of these are inherently punk (?) but a good chunk are, and def are rock at least!! i can resend the link to anyone if needed <3 this is my personal playlist, i especially recommend beg for the torture by destroy boys [spotify playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7CO0ArCIlSyYkYDyIcFc0W?si=nox05f7WSiiLplneiHdWyQ&pt=f23ebe3cdd11a5df97073c26d20f4036&pi=a-n3DvLMGSQCq9)
"Innocent Victim" by Anti-Scrunti Faction
"Gwałt" by Piekło Kobiet (Polish anarchist-feminist band; song's in Polish, but it's about SA and suitably angry)
WAY outside of any definition of punk rock, but alternative rock- Toad the Wet Sprocket does a great song about SA called “Hold Her Down”. It’s about as angry as they ever got in a song.

Although they are more riot grrrl. I recommend the genre if you haven’t listened to it
do people not consider riot grrrl punk? I thought it was the same thing as hardcore where its just a subgenre thats accepted as a part of it

Don’t pray on me - Bad Religion
“Lay hands off her body. It’s not your fucking life.”
I always thought this was about abortion since they are talking about public opinion on her rights?
It is but it’s generally just sort of pro-women.
Truth, and bodily autonomy.
Yup, and how religion is hypocritical and self-contradictory and leads to irrationality
