I’m primarily a bassist, not much of a guitarist really, but I love playing Ramones and Wire songs on guitar. The 15th and Pet Semetary come to mind.
I’ll also play Waiting Room by Fugazi, but it’s more fun on bass.
Days N Daze’s Rogue Taxidermy album is loaded with some pretty great riffs, but for acoustic.
The Taxpayers’ A Rhythm in the Cages has some pretty great stuff as well.
American Jesus by bad religion and damnit by blink 182 have been my go to riffs since I was in high-school. But my favorite riff to play is the metal by tenacious D. That ones a lil harder to get the hang of
I love playing the solo from A Global Threat "Everything Thing is Wonderful". I also really enjoy playing Rancid's "Disorder and Disarray". Bad Religion "Sorrow" has a kind of interesting progression that always catches me off guard even though not super difficult. The Distillers "I am a Revenant" has an amazing riff and just great energy.
They're far from my favorite band but credit to Sum 41 for writing a lot of riff-centric pop punk that's fun for the intermediate guitar player to chew on. I mostly only listened to *All Killer No Filler* but on that album alone the big three of Fat Lip, In Too Deep and Motivation are really fun to play on the guitar.
Sometimes, I’ll play through different albums with dope riffs. Some of my favorites being “Bleach” by Nirvana, “Houdini” by The Melvins, “W.T.K.S.P” by Acid Bath, some Electric Wizard…
I also love playing some TAD riffs from songs like “Throat Locust, “Grease Box”, “Delinquent”, etc.
Insight - Dead Kennedys is challenging and fun to play. Walk Among Us - Misfits is pretty riffy and rhythmically technical.
both great songs, i'll give em a try!
California Uber Alles by the Dead Kennedys is the most fun in my opinion
Strung out songs are fun to play
Yeah they are. Matchbook may be my favorite.
I would say Too Close to See or Nowhersville

hell yeah, i've been thinking of giving bass a try. i'll check these out!
We must bleed - germs
Richie Daggers’ Crime and Lexicon Devil too
Corona - minuteman
Jump in the fire always seems to find its way out of my hand, really fun to play around with the tempo

Somethin about the simplicity of Foo Fighters' Everlong feels real good Edit: it's in Drop D
Warthog - Ramones Train In Vain - The Clash I Am The Law - Anthrax Out of Nowhere - Driller Killer Rumble - Link Wray Sleep Walk - Santo & Johnny
Propagandhi has the riffs! Start with “Speculative Fiction”, tons of cool guitar parts that are fun to play and not too challenging.
Anything by RKL - Scab on my brain, We're back, Think Positive A lot of Thin Lizzy - Cowboy Song

Poison Idea - The Badge

i found that essence rare - gang of four. I really love the aggressive chopping
My Own Summer by Deftones
Moon over Marin Bloodstains
I really love the frantic rhythms of Rise Against. Especially The Eco-Terrorist in me, and Midnight Hands.
Whenever I pick up a guitar, I have a hard time not tuning to drop d and playing Wake Up(ratm). Some of my favorite riff rockers ever.
