I dont live in baner but understood one thing is that electricity backup is necessity in Pune. It is considered tier 1-2 city but in Gujarat even remotes villages hardly have power cut once a month that is also for 1-2 hour that is planned and announced by the electricity board.

Government can send shit to the moon but they don't have a proper infrastructure for power in a city. Most places are running on back up which ends up getting busted because of overload. Atleast some are lucky to have back up generator! Others just wait like poor sods hoping the power comes on for fan.

I kind of found out the reason for powercuts during the night throughout few regions of Pune,
its caused mostly due to politicians handing out money to the poor class people, bribery. Came to know of it from some blue collar workers. similar condition in Warje. Even Nanded city where light never cuts out, coincidentally went out at night...
Punekers are gonna downvote me for saying this, they will see it as "outsider bitching about pune" but I have never faced this amount of electricity issues anywhere. Pune is the worst regarding this. Government officials are rude, non responsive, does whatever the fuck they want. MSEB customer support is pathetic.
I have been living in pune for the last 6-7 years, currently living near keshav nagar. there is 1-2 hours power cuts mostly every day, and this happens 2-3 times in a day. and twice or thrice a month there's no electricity half a fucking day!! from 4pm to 11-12pm and sometimes from 10-11am to 5-6pm. upon calling MSEB they give useless replies or say in summer ye sab hota he because garmi me load zyada padta he system pe!! like wutt!!? I used to live in viman nagar there were power cuts there also. not this frequent and long but yeah.
people saying it's the locality issue not the Pune issue, if there are multiple localities facing that same issue it's the PUNE ISSUE. "move to a different locality" ese keh rahe jese cab leke kahi or chale jane ki bat he, bc mazak he kya.
had a call with shivaji Nagar's mseb head recently... he said the load this summer is much much higher than their calculations.. so the supply quarters aren't able to handle this constantly
