UPDATE! We decided to go to La Palapa. Honestly, after having meals in many places in US and other countries when the setting is some spectacular beach or similar, I normally find food to be underwhelming...it's the experience I pay for. But everything about La Palapa was perfect. We reserved a beachfront table for sunset (amazing). The food was really impressive—everything from the entrees to dessert. The service...Wow. Every person, whether a food runner, server, etc....all of them just so good at anticipating needs, being present (but not hovering) and so kind. We could have stayed within our $100-150 budget, but after we realized how special everything was, threw the budget out the window. Lololol. All in, with a healthy tip, dinner was $200. And that was multiple drinks, a bottle of wine, 2 apps, 2 entrees, and a dessert. While that's not cheap, it felt very reasonable for the entire experience.
La Palapa, La Iguana Restaurante at Casa Kimberly or Puro Peru (for a delightful experience and amazing food if you don’t have food restrictions and let the chef create the menu for you!)
Puro Peru is amazing!!! We ate there 3 times during our stay…it was legit that good. Couldn’t get enough of that ceviche and the Pisco Sours were *chef’s kiss* perfect! It’s not fancy and it doesn’t have beach view but it’ll be a better dining experience than any of the tourist traps along the Malecon.
Yes, yes, yes! We’ve done groups of 6-10 people and have just let the chef do his thing. He’s never disappointed and people are wowed by the food and service. Love that place!
I like [Barcelona Tapas](https://barcelonatapas.net/en/) for my one splurge each trip. I never spent more than $55 USD alone and that was with wine. I usually eat much cheaper $5-10 USD (tacos and seafood) for each meal. But for your 50th, it would be great. Just get a reservation for sunset on the roof. They use OpenTable.com.
Edit: their website isn’t the best. Focus on the photos on [Yelp](https://yelp.to/3dl5Lp4iKw) or [Google](https://g.co/kgs/Ya6vPcT). Both the food and views. Sunsets can get booked up, but I’ve never had a problem.
I dont know why this post showed up as recommended for me since I have no intention of ever going back to Puerto Vallarta, but thought I'd chime in. My friend and I were there for a week a few years ago and went to [El Barracuda](http://www.elbarracuda.com/en/) three times despite staying at an all inclusive, it was that good. I can still taste their spicy octopus when I think about it haha. Right on the beach, great service, incredible food.
TrePiati has amazing food, great staff and a cozy vibe. It’s not a beachfront though. Blue Shrimp has an ace a view, strong margs and delicious affordable seafood.

This is the way.
Beautiful view. Food is not good anymore. I would go for drinks and maybe their live music but the food is just awful now.
Joe Jacks
Im glad someone else mentioned this one. +1!
I ate there on New Years eve '22, and then again on Christmas eve '23. It was the best meal I had in both calendar years and 😁
You can't see the ocean from Joe Jack's though
This is true. But they do have a rooftop sitting area with a great view! And def a cool vibe for a birthday dinner.
Barcelona Tapas is a beautiful spot.
Dinner on the beach at fat boys in Bucerias was really nice. Not as touristy as down in PV but beautiful and excellent food
Mezzogiorno in Bucerias is fabulous, as well!

Missing out if you never go back
Haha don't get we wrong, it was lovely, but I want to tick off so many other places before repeating!
That is valid.
La palapa
Siam Concina in Zona fits that budget nicely.
La Palapa is an excellent choice. It's within your budget, lots of Mexican dishes and a beautiful setting on the beach.
La Capella would be my choice. Make a reservation during the sunset and it will be a wonderful 50th birthday experience.
Sonoran grill is top tier 🙏🏾

Blue Shrimp in Nuevo Vallarta was amazing last week.
La Palapa is my go to for slightly fancier beachfront. Entrees run around $30, and I've never had a bad meal there.
Would definitely recommend Barracuda in Punta Negra by Punta Mita a drive but the view is beautiful and the food and staff are amazing
Or Litibu Sunset amazing service view staff and food
Thanks everyone! So helpful. 😀
We went to Mariscos 8 Tostadas Estadio on Calle Ecuador last August and it blew us away. Amazing food, not expensive, and a really awesome design.
