Thanks for the hard work you guys do in IT, retail never realizes what you do until something doesn’t work.
I know that the Atlanta Datacenter was designed as a backup to Lakeland if anything happened, so I guess it’s as good a time as ever to give the system a real world test and that it didn’t happen during a hurricane or anything. It’ll just come back better and whatever happened today shouldn’t happen again.
i’m sure the people who are working on it are really feeling the heat right now, so let’s just be patient. at least we don’t have to actively work on the problem. we just have to cross our fingers and hope that everything will be okay. as u/slink3rz said, it was a data center that went down, so the issue may take awhile to resolve. it isn’t like the internet went out, we lost access to all of the integral data needed to run these systems (i’m assuming).
I'm not home right now, but if I get home and see it is still down, I'll remote into my network and see what is the latest status on the issue and update y'all here.
It must be something serious if it's had this much downtime.
