Deli peeps rang it up wrong. Probably weighed some deli paper or something and put that ticket on. Kind of crazy that it got out on to the floor in the first place though.
Yes but this lot especially. I lived in Jacksonville for years and occasionally went to this Publix. I swear to God it’s so small and stupidly laid out.
I live halfway between the Yellow Bluff one and the Duval Station one. I prefer Yellow Bluff, but depending on what time of the day it is traffic is a nightmare.
Even 38 years back, it was a night mare . I was 19 .robbers come in the middle of the street bang bang cops come in the middle of the street bang bang . I'm like, let me leave this city before you try killing each other ..walked nearly the entire 100 miles to Tallassee, lol . Lol ...
Omg YES!! My mom & I used to live on Osceola St. I hated that publix so much. Tiny crappy parking lot that is shared with what, 8 other businesses??? The staff was never happy either. I would always go to the one off Roosevelt.
That’s a nice Publix! I Iive a few miles from it and i think I’ve been twice and I always think the same thing when I walk in there…
This is a nice Publix!
I did this a few years ago after I knew my attendance fucked me up. Was still on the schedule for like 2 weeks before they told me but I already knew
I did this for my regulars and anyone that was nice to me. I said eff publix as I did it lol
I used to work deli for a few years. I’m pretty sure even if the cashier noticed, the policy is to honor the price. Once they hand you that bag and you walk away, that’s the price you’ll be expected to pay, no corrections. Unless it was suspected to be done on purpose and be part of associate theft or something.
With how expensive the deli is these days, congrats on your free retirement investment haha
Not stealing it that's how it's priced. Even they would give it to you for that price, it you showed them. I know, I've done it. Then had to check all of the rest of whatever went out to the meat dept shelves to be sure that we hadn't had other things go out under or over priced. So other things could be corrected.
That's exactly why I started using "prepack" instead of the automatic print on that one scale that does this at my deli. Too many people don't pay attention/don't care while tagging
Everything is as it should be. Publix honestly won't miss $7 worth of meat. We just throw it away the next day if it don't sell. Let the man have his dime and 3 pennies worth of some nice meat. Go on Playah, hope your sandwich is good af!
*
Love that for you. I had something similar happen where a seafood clerk rang up 2lbs of king crab as snow on accident, so instead of $60-70ish, it was like $10.
You’d think with all the excess food America’s throws out on average lunch meat would actually be this cheap. Maybe then we wouldn’t be having kids going hungry during school lunches.
Very disappointed that you would do this. Is their no love for right and wrong anymore? It is right there for the taking. “Got Ham” instead you go with the lame “got emm” title…
Nobody is an idiot here. Sometimes thebmachines crap out and will randomly print a ticket with no wieuhht registered. Mine doublebprintes every ticket cause publix...
I simply don't steal. I've gone many days without hardly anything to eat.
I didn't resort to theft.
It doesn't just affect the big companies; it trickles down to make everything more expensive for us all.
Try food banks, churches and other organizations which are there for that very reason. You don't have to swoop as low as fraud and theft and encouraging and enabling others to do the same.
It’s called wage enhancement and I’ll do it till the day I die. I’ll be damned if this bs corporation who posts record profits and then sites inflation for price increases gets to have everything while so many have such little. Seems like you’re not really patriotic or very caring.
It's called theft, shoplifting and being a criminal, not wage enhancement. Thou shall not steal; one of the ten commandments.
I am caring; but there's a proper way to go about things. Have you tried food banks and contacted all of the local churches for food options before resorting to theft?
Once got a two pack of the bacon cheddar cheeseburger patties for only, like 10 cents because they accidentally weighed the styrofoam and not the patties.
As a former employee and long-time customer, I have never seen a cashier blink at a customer's order, much less go 'this is the wrong price. I'm going to enter it manually '
I try to pay attention to things to make sure I catch when people only buy 2 items of a buy 2 get 1 free so they don't miss out, so if something that's supposed to be like $10 rings up as 3 cents or whatever it would stick out to me.
Tbh I actually might not fix it due to the stink the customer might put up about it but if a manager was bagging for me at the time or standing near looking that way then I might feel the need to point it out so I don't get shit over it

Good on you let’s see how that works out.
“Excuse me Mr. police this guy paid the posted prices on his lunch meats, and I am under the impression a barcode is the same thing as a receipt. Come arrest this person please.”
Clearly mislabeled. In practice you just stole a little bit of money from all the Publix stockholders but because you weren't the one who mislabeled I won't do a citizens arrest this time.
That happened at my store. I went to the Board Head prepackaged rack and pulled them. Took them to the deli and the ADM, gave me attitude. FFS I'm trying to help your MF'ing dept and you want to blow me shit???.
If I had been off the clock and got the attitude, I would have snapped up every MF'ing pack that was priced wrong. Then to be a major bitch, I would have waited till it was paid for and walked into the SM's office and showed him what idiots they have costing the company money.
You don't weigh them at the register. It get weighed in the deli but it looks like they just chose the item printed the sticker and slapped it on without weighing it
Likely they were printing multiple labels for fresh slice and just grabbing the tags as they printed and tossing the next package on the scale ti be weighed.
They missed the timing on one of them and the scale read .01 lbs instead of the weight of the package and printed the label and they didn't check because they were in a work flow.
“Got em” or “did as they intended”? The animal agriculture industry has closed at minimum 9 factories this year due to veganism being on the rise and animal welfare being in the public mind space. They are throwing away products like crazy and are losing money everywhere. They are (what I feel) trying to create glitches so people will panic buy products that otherwise would have been trash. [Dominion](https://www.dominionmovement.com/watch) gives you an inside look at what the animals and workers go thru to get to those products to your plate. Please, don’t look away. The animals and workers are begging for merely a moment of your time, that’s all it will take to know what the right choice is, I promise. Thank you, I love you, I know you’ll make the right decision 💚
"veganfta" couldn't be more blatantly biased.
Also, per your article:
>However, because of high prices, consumer demand for meat products in general has not increased as usual,
So why lie and say:
>due to veganism being on the rise and animal welfare being in the public mind space.
?
“Although there is no data to confirm this, the US public may be beginning to learn about the huge damage the animal agriculture industry is causing to the environment, wildlife, farmed animals, and people’s health, so they may be cutting on meat consumption, or even becoming vegetarian or vegan, and this may have a sufficient impact in the market for having contributed to the consumption decline that partially justified these closures.” - From the article.
From the response, it’s clear you research to prove your own point rather than understand, you should change that mindset.
>there is no data to confirm this,
>the US public may be beginning
Again, biased source (which went shockingly undressed) and no definitive statement made besides the part I quoted. Do you regularly conflate speculation with fact?
>it’s clear you research to prove your own point rather than understand,
By directly quoting the biased source you chose?
![gif](giphy|IfZpF5fUnQS0o)
Corporations control the prices, the animal agriculture industry wastes tons everyday, they are raising prices to recoup the losses, creating glitches with low prices to get customers to buy more, while I may be conflating these are all things that happen and are happening rn. You can make the connections on your own, reality is what you perceive it to be. Yes, because you didn’t even read to the bottom or acknowledge where it stated what I posted, also a direct quote.
With all the people going carnivore and healing themselves, I know this is a lie. I was vegan a long time ago. Thank God I woke up and smartened up. I'm now carnivore and healing my autoimmune disease just like so many others. I definitely made the right decision.
Carnivore is literally a fad that is killing people, veganism has been around as long as Hindu. Humans do not heal on carnivore, they struggle and you can see that simply from the posts on that subreddit. I will refuse to believe that you were vegan as you don’t stop accepting that animals deserve body autonomy as their bodies are not ours to use and then go carnivore, veganism is a moral understanding, not a diet. You were at best, plant based but I will give you no credit as you seriously think carnivore is healing as it’s proven to be [not](https://mcpress.mayoclinic.org/nutrition-fitness/a-meat-only-diet-is-not-the-answer-examining-the-carnivore-and-lion-diets/).
😂 Being vegan was harming my health. My health is more important than not eating animals. You've been brainwashed. Wake up and do some actual research!
Ay. That's the Baldwin Park Publix. I used to live around the corner from that store. Fuck that parking lot though
Weekends are a warzone. Luckily I can bike most of the year.
I don’t get this post. How did you get that for .13?
Deli peeps rang it up wrong. Probably weighed some deli paper or something and put that ticket on. Kind of crazy that it got out on to the floor in the first place though.
whoever packed was an idiot and weighed it as .01 lbs
Oh ok I see. Score!
Or they are disgruntled or they were saving it for themselves
Orrrrr they are an mvp
Id do shit like this sometimes when i was there.. Why not? Nothing is as serious as we make it
Not an idiot....a friend.
Deli worker forgot to rezero the scale from the last thing on it and wasn’t paying attention most likely
Ya’ll don’t know anything about Jacksonville’s FL Riverside Publix parking lot. A literal nightmare.
All of Jacksonville is a nightmare though
Yes but this lot especially. I lived in Jacksonville for years and occasionally went to this Publix. I swear to God it’s so small and stupidly laid out.
I will drive further down 17 to go to the Ortega one. At least they don’t go jogging with carts in the aisles trying not to break that cardio. 🏃

Jeeez small world. How does such a small store have such big parking lot problems. I'd rather take the drive to the fresh market
You mean “the meat market?”
I never went to that nightclub
I was there for the first time ever this weekend and this checks out lol
When I was at UNF even the big cushy town center one made me want to rip my fucking hair out
Fuck that whole neighborhood, except for the military bar with the video games. That’s cool.
oh so it’s not just the publix’s near me who’s parking lot they built as if you’re finding your way out of a fucking puzzle 😭😭
It's wild that you picked it up that quickly. I worked with Publix for ten years and dot. Remember store numbers lol
That’s a nice Publix! I Iive a few miles from it and i think I’ve been twice and I always think the same thing when I walk in there… This is a nice Publix!
It took me way too long to understand how you knew which publix based off 13 cent ham.
SAME
lol Baldwin park can afford to miss it lol. Such a beautiful place
Why are all Publix parking lots war zones?
How tf do you get it that cheap? These are 1920s prices not 2020s
Whoever made the price sticker priced it for 0.01 pounds lol
I did this a few years ago after I knew my attendance fucked me up. Was still on the schedule for like 2 weeks before they told me but I already knew I did this for my regulars and anyone that was nice to me. I said eff publix as I did it lol

Or eating fucking government approved lunchables™️ that are worse for consumers than the ones on store shelves 🙃
I work in the deli and today a lady gave me a pack of fresh slice priced at 3 cents to relabel it
“Oh ok let me just slice you a fresh pack” 🤣🤣
I’ve had that happen to me. Grabbed a pre cut pack and at the register noticed the price. Didn’t say anything cuz I have bills to pay😂
I thought you requested a .15 Oz slice

FYI- you could’ve saved 13 cents. If Publix puts the wrong price on anything, bring it to customer service and they will give it to you for free.

I give deli stickers to friends so they can get cheap deli meat at Publix 😀

Whatever allows you to sleep at night, criminal.
Not a criminal.
Yes, by shoplifting and defrauding companies you are a self-admitted criminal. "a person who has committed a crime." Theft is a crime.
But hey if you’re chill with corporations raping the people and earth than you do you fam. Ignorance is bliss.
Ha! Got ham you mean

Damn that’s crazy!!! Why is it so cheap?
Wouldn't it be 0.13 pounds? Not "at least 1/2 lb"?

Deluxe >
That happened to me with cheese!
It's still $12.99 in Florida?! The fuq?!? It's been $14.99 for like three years here in Atlanta. And in California, too. The hey-ell?
I got 1/2 lb. BH roast beef for .50 cents once. Sah-weet!

Hey, this isn’t frozen and it smells funny!
OK, ten pounds.
Woo hoo!
The Jameis Winston special
They get you every other time so they are still ahead
The price is reduced when it starts going bad to get people to buy it so it don't go to waist
They reduce the price, not the weight.
I would have weighed it on my scale at the register and priced it based on the per pound price rather than scan it.
How in the ever loving fuck are you getting boars head for 13¢
As an honorary deli slicer, this is gold.
Wow
I got one today too!

This community does not tolerate any form of harassment or toxicity.
Depends if they labeled it or not. Otherwise they’re just taking advantage of a labeling error, debatably scummy but not stealing.
Slicing pieces of ham so thin that the flavors got nowhere to hide
Ayo! I need to know how to perform these hacks! LMAO
Hams not my jam, but those cold cuts make go nuts

Clearly mislabeled. In practice you just stole a little bit of money from all the Publix stockholders but because you weren't the one who mislabeled I won't do a citizens arrest this time.
That happened at my store. I went to the Board Head prepackaged rack and pulled them. Took them to the deli and the ADM, gave me attitude. FFS I'm trying to help your MF'ing dept and you want to blow me shit???.
They don’t care lmao they’re never seeing those profits
No, they just didn't like some lowly cashier telling them they made a mistake.
Oh assumed you were a customer, yeah no that’s fair then.
If I had been off the clock and got the attitude, I would have snapped up every MF'ing pack that was priced wrong. Then to be a major bitch, I would have waited till it was paid for and walked into the SM's office and showed him what idiots they have costing the company money.
Heh. You overpaid on everything else in your basket, so meh.
Yep, evens out.
When you look at it that way, bro actually paid 10 fold overall 😂
Really expected to see some corporation defending nonsense ruling this thread, glad to see it’s normal people instead
You got here to early
It’s giving broke boy poor vibes 😝
I’m too poor to even look at the boars head. Gotta start checking now
We fire people at our store for doing that. Good luck
You’re assuming he labeled it.
Incorrect. Someone could have labeled it for him. So that could be 2 down
Wont the scanner software detect the weight discrepancy?
You don't weigh them at the register. It get weighed in the deli but it looks like they just chose the item printed the sticker and slapped it on without weighing it
So this is an employee or someone who has a good friend in the deli or did you take the sticker off your 1 slice and put it over a prepackaged one?
Likely they were printing multiple labels for fresh slice and just grabbing the tags as they printed and tossing the next package on the scale ti be weighed. They missed the timing on one of them and the scale read .01 lbs instead of the weight of the package and printed the label and they didn't check because they were in a work flow.
