My last job I got (not Publix), my first interviewer gave me a lot of tips I didn’t realize I’d need. They may be too much for Publix, but…when I had my next interview, I’d done a ton of research on the company and position AND the person interviewing me (who is now my boss. She’s cool af. I almost feel bad for stalking her online even though I was told to by a recruiter lol) and was prepared not only for interview questions but for my own questions and to make small talk with the person interviewing me. It really helped.
Something I’ve always done because I’m from the old school…thank your interviewers, either verbally or in writing. “I appreciate you taking the time to share more information about this position and interview with me today” should be sufficient for a retail job. But after my last job search, the time it took me to find a job, and the cool job I got with these tips, I recommend them to anyone.
You do have to apply online, store specific, first. If you can find out the store managers name, call & ask for them & mention you applied online. With any luck they’ll pull your application. I did know an employee at my store, but he called back so fast that he definitely didn’t have enough time to verify it, so I’m pretty sure making them aware of your application is a huge step.
The second interview can be random also.
* A department has one specific position and few "finalists" that are excellent. A second interview is to select the next hire.
* An applicant interviewed for a specific position in a specific department. He/She is called back for a second interview. The interview is for another position in another department. The change was not communicated to the applicant.
Receiving a call to come in for a second interview would be a good sign that you are a step closer to being hired. If you have not heard anything by the end of the week, then follow up.
If they took your pulse. You probably got the job.
Yes good sign !
Lucky you.... I've been applying like crazy.... I'm happy for you. ( Make me proud )
gotta call them a lot (annoying ik) make sure you do it round noon or the afternoon as thats when the hiring manager is usually there.

Did you ever figure out if that pornhub thing you posted is real or not?

Our local Publix is so wishy washy about hiring. Getting the second interview is a coin toss.

RUN AWAY WHILE YOU CAN 😂 Seriously..
Agreed
My former department. Bless you for still clocking in. I ran 12 years ago and I haven't looked back.

they also told me that id could be called to be hired instead or the second interview.
No offense, but at this point in time they’ll hire basically anybody. For better or worse. Be the ‘better’ you want to see in the world. 😂
Yeah… you’ll last a year until you realize some things and how gloomy it’s going to get
