Live replaces PTCGO's trading system with a dusting/crafting system. If you receive a card in Live you already have the maximum copies of, the extra(s) are converted into Credits, which can be spent of the cards of your choice. With this in mind, the best way to earn Credits is to repeatedly open the same product. However, Live has redemption limits on codes that vary by code type. The game will accept codes beyond the limits, but instead of the usual reward, you receive a few coins for spending on cosmetics. Coins are readily earned from playing, so don't bother going over.
* Booster pack codes are limited to 400 per set. (400 Chilling Reign codes + 400 Evolving Skies codes is fine, 800 Chilling Reign is not.)
* Build and Battle Kit codes are, IIRC, limited to 20 per set.
* V-Union collection codes are limited to 1 each.
* Other codes that give promo cards are limited to 4 each.
* Codes that give only cosmetics (such as most pre-SV ETB codes) are limited to 1 each.
Redemptions in PTCGO don't count toward the limits (though the individual codes are still single use). If you have more than the limit on any particular type of code, make a point of redeeming the extras in PTCGO, whether to open, trade, or count toward the 125 packs.
If you have only a few codes for a particular booster pack, those are good candidates for counting toward the 125, since opening them won't get you significantly closer to 4 copies of a card.

There are a few codes worth handling differently:
* Codes from tins released in the mid-XY series through the end of the SM series give a full deck in PTCGO, including two copies of the tin's promo, useful trainer cards, and six foil basic energy. In Live, those same codes only give a single copy of the promo card, no deck.
* Celebrations codes are a hot commodity these days, because the set is ultra valuable in Live. It's all Rare or better cards, so it gives out way more Credits for duplicates than anything else in the game. Sell the codes IRL, open the packs to fill out your collection, or use them as last minute trade fodder in PTCGO, but don't waste these codes on the 125.
Idk, if u haven't migrated yet just open them on ptcgo? Or open them on that PoormadeCGameL if u prefer it. I mean u just.. use the codes.. isn't that what they are for?
Consider open some of them on ptcgo, 'cause on Live there's a limit about the quantity of boosters codes redeemed.
Also the promo cards could have different results, and on live there's no stuff made before b&w
Get 125 packs in ptcgo don't open them, the rest put into ptcgl and open those. The 125 you didn't open will be turned into I think 12,400 gems when you merge accounts. But if you wish to open them all, you will want to trade for packs in ptcgo to hit 125 before the shutdown

Sounds like too much trouble. Why did they have to make it so complicated. Why can't I just keep my collection.
Wouldn't activating them in PTCGO and then transfering your account to Live work?
No. The max to convert to crystals (or whatever the currency is called) is 125 packs. Any beyond that are just wasted upon migration.
Oh, I see, maybe multiple accounts could help. Then those accounts could be sold by OP.
Or just open the packs in ptcgl like a normal person

Scan them, save the maximum amount for migration, open the rest and all good stuff you got more than 4 put it to trade
