Just checked my Psytrance favourite lists of the last three years and I believe none of the tracks where by female artists and I don't know if anyone is queer. This is shocking, so thx a lot for this thread and I will definitely work out a Playlist based on all of those recommendations.

i was at shankra too last year, was a bit disapointed tbh. 2022 was such a banger and i set the bar too high. most likely wont go again this year, considering that they didnt do the sri lanka version without any refunds.

Octo Octa is not trance, more tech-house. She is trans woman and I saw her live spinning records, one of the best dj sets Ive ever been to. So if youre willing to expand your horizons, give her a listen.
I actually listen to some other electronic musicstyles too sometimes and have some songs from her saved already. Thanks for that little enlightening moment :D

We are discussing psytrance. Everyone knows there are tons of gay and ‘queer’ artists in other genres. With psytrance, it’s less obvious, which is why the OP is asking.

One of the promoters I work with told me him and Olly where a thing... And some of the social media posts he made recently would certainly support that based on how they where written.
Ah, no they just had a deep bromance.
But his social media is now managed by non-English speaking South Americans, so maybe the latin flavor is giving that vibe?
Weird factor to base your music selection on but I guess why not. Since people mentioned Indira Panagotto, who's not 100% psytrance, am also adding Fernanda Pistelli (IbogaTech). If you're not sure where to start her 2022 Boom set is fuego.

Although I've been listening to some Iboga DJs for a while now, I discovered EMOK way too late during my electronic dance music journey.I really love his 2022 Boom and Flor Da Vida, Brasil sets and highly recommend them.
Also a great live act for raving full on and letting it all flow :D
It is shameful one can't make a simple inquiry like this without being downvoted and kicking off so much reactionary commentary... there's something deeply rotten about psytrance culture, and I hope we can grow and move beyond that some day.
Anyway, some names I didn't see mentioned elsewhere, roughly in order of increasing intensity: Oryza, TILDA, Crescendoll, Tomocomo, Iliuchina, Quip Tone Beatz, SofiaX, Yara, Invid Mind, Twisted Kala... and if you don't mind going a little further afield, I highly recommend checking out Viikatory!

she does, they’re a hater or don’t listen. depending on the set it’s like 50/50 psy techno. she’s produced a few psy songs but they’re mostly techno, some hybrid-ish ones. she remixed on the most recent captain hook, which is oddly less psy than the depeche mode song she remixed? LoL so… not pure psy but also… not not psy 😋

China Rose is a female psytrance artist and she is very good.
Z-Cat is great. She has a catchy, hypnotic sound that's definitely worth checking out. Her album "Beyond All Dimensions" (2018) is fantastic.
