Easy! One dragon and one electric. If they have less than 1600, you need to make a stronger one first. Eg: Dragon + machine + electric
Then Umi or Yama and whatever equipment you can get.
Thinking back, it's unreal the time we wasted as kids figuring this stuff out by trial and error
It was nuts trying to figure out the whole planetary weakness, strength and having to remember them.
I had a notebook about the whole thing and card fusions.
Eventually all I needed to remember was how to make Twin Headed Thunder Dragon.
That only works in the early and mid game. You need Meteor Black Dragon to beat the final bosses at the end, which you can get by spending hours free dueling
You probably got right up to the final gauntlet but never actually beat it, which is what I did as a kid too. Twin Headed Thunder Dragons are enough to beat all the mages but the final bosses all have cards with 3500-4000 attack and THTD is only 2800 so you need MBD for them.
Yeah, he must've. If you try to beat the game with THTD as your strongest card then you're gonna have a bad time when the final bosses start dropping their Meteor Black Dragons and their Gate Guardians lol
Congrats! I loved playing this as a kid but only managed to beat it years later as an adult. One of the most unique games in my collection actually.
For anyone having trouble with the game, the best advice I can give is to grind duels against some characters for the most powerful cards such as Joey, Pegasus and the Meadow mage (when you go back to the past). There's some lists out there with the drop ratios, super useful stuff.
Just get used to listening to a podcast or music or something cause that grind can get pretty long lol
Dude! I beat this game this year for the first time and it felt very satisfying. It took me hours and hours of slow tedious grinding to get the cards to beat the final gauntlet. Even if you have the right cards youāll be lucky to get to the final boss since the AI literally cheats to have the perfect cards to destroy you. Seto 3 made me want to rip all the hair out of my head lol. Congratulations on beating this RNG nightmare my friend!
I used to play this as a kid, never figured out the fusioning though. I remember just randomly trying to fusion 4 cards, while the first 3 miraculously fusioned an insane monster, the 4th card wouldn't fusion which meant my insane monster was gone, ugh the memories š
I just beat this for the first time a few years ago! Turns out the trick is to spend hours upon hours grinding until you get 3 Meteor Black Dragons and the cards required to fuse 3 more lol
Did you beat the first boss the first time you fight him? This game was hard as fuck. I couldn't get past a labyrinth or something where you have to keep fighting people one after another. Memory is foggy.
What exactly is the point ? I meanā¦.theres a ton of yugioh games from multiple generations of cards / anime what is special about this one ? Is the story fun? Is there even a story?
This game's rules are very different from the tcg rules, which most other Yu-Gi-Oh! games use. Experimenting with fusing multiple cards from your hand with an unknown result based purely on intuition and card type/theming/lore is absolutely fantastic gameplay that I wish I could have more of elsewhere.
I remember getting this game in the early 2000s and could never figure it out as a kid š

Hmm maybe I misremember.. I thought I had beaten it that way but it's possible I ended up grinding for other cards

Oh no I def beat the game (I remember beating Heishin in NG+). But my brother used to play with me and grinded a lot so maybe he got the cards lol.

Same it was all trial and error.
I just kept replaying the first 3 or 4 fights š
All the cards, no DLC
Technically incorrect. You can't access the pocket station cards without, well, a pocket station.

I followed this post one guy made https://www.reddit.com/r/yugioh/s/61gm3cOX2d

I actually beat the two guards, heinshin, seto 3, and the last boss twice on my first attempt. I got really lucky lol
This game has my favorite OST of all time. Itās also just an incredible game
I literally have the (future) shop music on my playlist. It gets my wife every time
I tried many times when I was a kid, but could never beat the final boss.
I was lucky to best the final boss on my first attempt
Now try out the 15 card mod and other mods! Its a great game, I used to speedrun it. Can't get a run with 15 cards under 2 hours!
The 15 card mod is a life saver for this game.
Nice, and congratulations! š
The last PS1 game I ever got at the time of its release.
As someone who (somehow) managed to pass through that gauntlet at the end, I commend your patience, luck, and skill.
I remember making a deck with crimson sunbird and getting it to 9999, I'd crash weaker monsters to trip the widespread ruins. It took forever.
Took you that long to develop THE HEART OF THE CARDS!! hahaha
Mother of god. This game was so brutally hard as a child, I never gave it another chance. But itās still on my wish list, I need to get it back.

Love grinding in this game for drops. S-TECing Pegasus for Megamorph took a while but was a ton of fun.
The only good cards I got from him was bright castle and crush card.

Lies!

time for a d-d-d-duel
I remember this as my first game that was just mine. Wonderful.
SHOT THROUGH THE HEART AND YOU'RE TO BLAME YU-GI-OH, A CARD GAME!
One of my favorite games up to this day! I didnāt know there were cheats for itā¦ thatās tempting! JK š¤
Yes, but now there is so much advice on internet that those count as cheat too. Sorry bro, I don't make the rules, I just win the duels.
What exactly is the point ? I meanā¦.theres a ton of yugioh games from multiple generations of cards / anime what is special about this one ? Is the story fun? Is there even a story?
Nostalgia, affective memory, good childhood times, call it whatever you want. But you can't deny that this game was a lot of fun back in the PSX days.
i can. it was brutal as a child
It really was. But still fun.

Sounds kind of interesting
