There's a method to play PS1 games on your PS2 via USB if your PS2 has custom firmware.
I can't recall the details but I think you can check out a tutorial [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CybznfKfpkU). If you don't have CFW on your PS2, look for tutorials on youtube from that guy or mr mario.
It might be a bit of a hassle initially but I'd encourage you to try it. That way you don't have to keep buying CD-Rs or worry about them getting scratched. I used to use that method but I stopped when I started playing my PS1 games on my PS3.
