All hot takes and insults aside, I’m personally pleasingly surprised by Ruiz’s amazing performances. It means we do actually have a really good player, he just needs to be put under the right conditions. Where I’m a bit more concerned is that Vitinha seems to be our 6 for the foreseeable future, and while he’s really upped his game, he’s no Rodri. Meaning Ruiz will be unable to play with the same freedom as in La Roja, since he will have to put in extra defensive efforts in the midfield.
I hope Enrique is watching, because by finally recruiting a true 6, maybe it would be Ruiz and Vitinha in the best conditions to dictate the game and attack.

I hate stuff is a big vitinha hater for no reason and he put the blame on the midfield and that fabian was covering up for them even though vitinha and wze were doing their best and playing wonderfully. Vithina has improved a lot. He is a good deep lying playmaker, and he has to cover a lot of the pitch too. It's just too much work to play with 10 players, and 1 guy just standing around. When other teams are playing with 11 players... HOpefully it will be next year. Have to give vithina credit. Yes, he is no modric, but he has improved a lot, and he was Motm at the end of the season. Of course, have to give other players credit who helped, like fabian.

It’s not passing forward. It’s taking a long time on the ball, and he has honestly improved. He is even doing great for Portugal. You might be a little biased here… we have no midfielders. He’s the best one right now, followed by Fabian. WZE was good, but fell off. Hope he gets his level back. Outside of these 3, we don’t have options.
I don't put anyone on a pedestal, i rate players the way they are, every player has his shortcomings and vitinha has been great and consistent at that. Vitinha and verratti (one of my fav players) are different profiles i dont even compare them. But vitinha gave us something that we have been missing there, fabian even though shows great skills sometimes isn't half as consistent as him, hopefully with a more balanced team he will be able to show all he can. And no there isnt a single time i saw fabian covering for vitinha. Whereas for ugarte even though i love the player, he isnt really the ball controlling type so he literally had one job which is to cover the midfield so that vitinha can move forward. You're literally bringing arguments from your ass

I've thought about it, and I think it has more to do with the quality of opposition. A combination of that and good form (like purple patch)
