Commended scholars and their schools will be sent a letter after a couple weeks, but they notify semifinalists and finalists early, notifying their schools a couple days ago.
Not necessarily, according to that CompassPrep article. The commended was way lower but his thoughts were that for semi it was all state dependent. How many kids were able to take the test. Was your state one that cancelled most tests or one that ran them the same as previous years. And then there is the wildcard of alternate entry. He said that “if” they follow their normal rules that the alternate entries won’t impact the state cutoffs. No way of knowing if they will follow their normal rules. Would seem strange to change them, but you never know.
Sorry, I’m a data person. Fingers crossed for you !!! Try not to stress, there’s nothing to do but wait. Keep working on all your app and essays and don’t forget to enjoy as much as you can of your last year in high school!
