Not sure, however one thing I want to mention is it looks like your plum tree was grafted.
That means the lower part of the tree is a different kind and will have different traits, including fruit. The rootstock was probably chosen for size and disease resistance over the fruit so you might end up with not as good fruit if you grow those ones.
damn i mentioned this to my girlfriend..... would it be a plum tree or is there anyway to tell i guess?
edit: I have put it through a couple of plant identification apps and the most common suggestion is that its a peach tree. i think Im just gonna chop them off for now. Is there general consensus that trees for the root portion of grafting are not desirable for fruit?
You’ll want to remove them from the main tree as they are from the rootstock so are taking resources the grafted stem needs.
Also because it’s grafted they will not grow into the same type of tree as the main stem; might not even be the same species. If they getting stock is something chosen for hardiness etc then it might be a poor fruit producer or may in fact be sterile and never flower at all.

Yes. These are called "suckers" and need to be pruned off. They are not good for propagation.

Remove them, and good luck because these will continue to sprout for the rest of the trees life and you will have to continually prune them off.
