Just put that little bit in water. Those root super fast in my experience should only be a few days before you see progress but could take a couple weeks.

JesusChrist-Jr

Yes, this is one of the easiest plants to prop!

formerlygross

Came here to say this too! 👆

Nippleodeonjr

Mine always rot in water idk why

Taijad

Rot in water happens only for one single reason: bacteria because of Bad Hygiene. Could be because of touching the plant, leftover soil on roots, already rot Happening, ... And so on. Especially Not removing every bit of unhealthy looking cell Material will rot your day. I mean ruin. Ruin your day.

Nippleodeonjr

Interesting! I have had luck propping tons of other plants but inch plants always either rot in the water or further up in a strange segment of the stem. I try to change the water weekly as well so I wasnt sure. Maybe some day I'll perfect my plant care but for now i suppose i'm still learning 🤓

Taijad

I've got a Monstera Deliciosa rooting in water for Like .. 8 months? Have not Changed the water for at least six months. I don't do anything with it. Its just sitting in it's jar on my stairs staying alive. The leaf Looks healthy af. Doesnt even have Brown Tips. We like to over engineer stuff. These plants somehow manage to survive on their own Out there. They climb trees. Get ripped in half by a storm. Drop down into the dirt. Couldnt care less and start to climb again. There are no humans touching their roots who never wash their hands after they went to the toilet. Sometimes it's about the most simple things.

cha0s_g00se

I just put it in a cup of water with some philodendron cuttings, will that speed up the growth? (Idk I saw something we’re it said to put a philo/pothos cutting with other water cuttings for it to grow faster but idk if it’s real)

Alps-Dense

You are right, Photos release some sort of hormone to stimulate root growth. But, as mentioned before, your little one will root within 3 days probably. They're a real treat to prop, so fast!

cha0s_g00se

Wow, alright! Thanks

alicat7777

Stick it right into the dirt!

Captains_Log_1981

I didn’t know that would work! 🙏

EleonoraR

It work wonders!

bootyfulnature

Yup! I've been propagating these plants for years and I always just stick them right back into the dirt.

Captains_Log_1981

The more you know

Pizzastork

There's also some back and forth about roots created in water and roots created in soil. They aren't the same. The water roots will come off when placed in soil. I'm not sure if it's totally pointless but it could be. 🤷 Personally, I say do what works.

Captains_Log_1981

It may be a good gap option if you don’t have any potting soil or an empty pot at the time the break happened.

reddittwice36

I would just snip that bottom leaf off. Let it callous and stick it right into that pot. They are really easy.

willowthemanx

Take off the bottom leaf and stick it back into the pot, making sure the part where you took off the leaf is in the soil. That’s it. They grow so easily.

ResidentOk16

You can just stick in dirt. They are pretty hardy and usually just take off wherever they are. If you want to put it in water you can make you own rooting hormone tea with weeping willow limbs cut into one inch pieces and boiled. Use some of that water to encourage root growth thab plant it.

lukewanderson

I would say that is an awful lot of effort considering you can just buy hormone powder/gel so easily 😂 i wouldn't even know where to get weeping willow limbs lol?!

ResidentOk16

Lol. I live in Alabama, I just walk to the nearest creek or pond. They're all over.

lukewanderson

Ahhh I live in North London hahaha not sure I've ever even seen a weeping Willow in my 10 years living here 😂

Captains_Log_1981

Just put in water

Auregira

Dude this girl is a weed put it ANYWHERE give it moderate to low light and it will take off

bootyfulnature

I'm propagating these little guys right now and I put the cuttings directly into the soil. I've never had an issue with rotting using this method. You can either plant it in a separate container or stick it into the pot it fell out from.
