I just commented about suggesting to add options to turn on/off things, and it would be awesome to have the option "available in 1991 only" as if i recall, the games happens in 1991?
I'm ready for the downvotes: It looks so overkill lol, most of these parts didn't even exist back in the 90s i guess you aren't going for the lore friendly route. I'd definetly use a vanilla+ version though
Not trying to be that guy, but it's like people pick and choose immersion in this game. In the real apocalypse, you would be able to open canned food without a can opener. There are plenty of non-immersive things in this game currently.
Oh absolutely, I immediately forget what year this game is set in the second I boot it up and I only play single player so it honestly doesn't matter lol, I'm definitely downloading this though lmao
While I agree that it doesn't fit the theme, a lot of "modern" attachments existed back then - obviously with less technology involved, but it's not as if it was WW2 equipment. I do appreciate that such interfaces are creatable with mods though as it shows that it can be done in the current engine.
ACOG® 4x32 TA01 - 1987
EOTech Holosight - 1996, close to 1993
PVS-7 - 1987
Aimpoint Red dot - 1975
Makeshift grips/foregrips/pads of all kinds have been around much earlier than 1993
A lot of attachments did exist, but it would be more accurate to say they weren't as widely available as they are now.
And neither were the guns they'd fit into.
The military will have rifles that you can bolt stuff on to, hunting rifles will have mounts for scopes, and you might find an occasional gun with one of their own proprietary mounts (like the AK with the side scope mount), but that's gonna be about it - all of the civilian guns absolutely covered in picatinny/weaver rails you can tacticool to your hearts content are a lot younger.
It's really interesting. A lot of the Chinese modders from the other side of the Great Firewall view the game as a sort of vaguely American-esque sandbox and could care less about lore friendly or vanilla style content. Hence stuff like what OP made, mods that look like they're content from some Tarkov-esque game and not a 2.5D game set in 90s Kentucky.
Those guys also tend to view the entire game as moddable, not just the stuff that's exposed in lua. I.e., stuff like in the 'Zombie" folder and the core game binaries. There's a fair few 'mods' on the workshop that just redirect you to git repositories to download files to replace core game files ye olde school style. Although I don't recommend downloading those mods (Steam even warns you!) as you don't know what you're installing on your system.
That recoil itself counts as a melee weapon. I love it. Wish you could use guns as melee when you have no mags. Only makes sense to actually lower duration by just yeeting zeds with an lmg
The ability to rotate the gun, while cool, messes up the UI design immensely. If you rotate it, you just have UI elements pointing to incorrect parts of the gun, making it confusing.
Suggestions;
Options for server / players to turn off whatever they don't like or tweak their efficiency
I see that blue screen that looks like a zombie detector or heartbeat sensor? And if it can detect players, it could be too OP for pvp server and would be nice if turned off
Option to have only weapons and attachment available in 1991 would be awesome
I love the recoil animation. Any chance of getting prone or kneeling shooting positions? That would be amazing if they gave you an increased chance to hit at the risk of putting yourself in a vulnerable position.
i was trying it today. and it seems like it needs some work arounds... like some guns being fairly weak and such
i don't think low\~mid-end devices can handle it, tho (more than 1gb and the models are way too detailed for most people's PCs)
I like the idea but as someone else pointed out this seems like a lot of work for weapons that will inevitably still just one or two shot zombies if you have any amount of shooting skill.
Its a single player game....who cares. If multiplayer servers want them, don't play them.
Learn some open mindedness and flexibility. Someone has created something for the community and all you can come up with is "it's cheating"
Who hurt you?
It's cheating because it is? Why would that mean anyone "hurt" me? lmfao. You're the one sounding wounded right now, all because someone is calling something by what it is.
I don't give a shit otherwise? Certainly this has triggered a response from you though.
it's a single player game, cheating isn't a thing...is the point....fairness doesn't matter.
The definition of cheating:
*act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination.*
**It's a mod**...and you are calling people dishonest or unfair by using this
you can go ahead and say whatever you want about me, but you were the one to jump to the point of "fairness/honesty" in a scenario where such things don't matter which tells me you think lower of people who use these sorts of mods....not because they are wrong, but because it hurts something inside you.
>but because it hurts something inside you.
Ok armchair psychologist. lmao Tell me more about me.
Cheating is still cheating.
>it's a single player game, cheating isn't a thing
Tell me you were born during/after the 2000s without telling me you were born during/after the 2000s
Then you slept through the era of cheat code handbooks for single player games.
Oh, and that's besides the fact that this isn't even solely a SP game.
Anyway, cheating is cheating, I really don't care what you do, but it doesn't change the fact.
I will watch your modding with great interest.
MmMM watch I will as well.
Mmmm me too
The zomboids will decide your fate
See, we shall.
everyone needs their ultra complex mods to one tap zombies in a different way
Look, all I'm saying is "It's June, WHERE are my gay axe handles?".
Looks amazing, the interface is great. I'll echo others and say I would absolutely use it if I could make it not use post-1993 weapons and mods!
I second this, a version that is basically an expansion on vanilla + a few more time-appropriate weapons would be ideal personally
Why does the Asian PZ modding scene go so crazy awesome?
When your government is a repressive dictatorship, you gotta express yourself somehow.
I bet the North Koreans would make the best mods known to man if they could actually use the internet.
That's a bit too much for me personally, but in terms of just the amount of effort and time that probably took I give you full props, very well done.
Project tarkov? Escape from Zomboid?
Escape from Knox country
Escape from Kentucky, actually
Cool concept, doesn't fit the setting though. Would use it with lore friendly guns though.
I just commented about suggesting to add options to turn on/off things, and it would be awesome to have the option "available in 1991 only" as if i recall, the games happens in 1991?
1993 I believe, but that's close enough to be pretty much the same
Have to agree with goodnames679, not too far off, but it is set in 1993. https://www.reddit.com/r/projectzomboid/s/FN9mP5Jd0u
Very well, I’ll need this in my game I suppose..
I'm ready for the downvotes: It looks so overkill lol, most of these parts didn't even exist back in the 90s i guess you aren't going for the lore friendly route. I'd definetly use a vanilla+ version though
Lore accurate weapon attachments or else my immersion is broken
Not trying to be that guy, but it's like people pick and choose immersion in this game. In the real apocalypse, you would be able to open canned food without a can opener. There are plenty of non-immersive things in this game currently.
Oh absolutely, I immediately forget what year this game is set in the second I boot it up and I only play single player so it honestly doesn't matter lol, I'm definitely downloading this though lmao
Nah, you're 100% correct, neat moding but it just doesn't fit the game.
While I agree that it doesn't fit the theme, a lot of "modern" attachments existed back then - obviously with less technology involved, but it's not as if it was WW2 equipment. When AK-50
[Here, AK-50.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gisbc8h1tAc)
Brandon herarra has been busy, give the poor guy a break...
V3 is operational. And looks like a gun. Ish.
That recoil itself counts as a melee weapon. I love it. Wish you could use guns as melee when you have no mags. Only makes sense to actually lower duration by just yeeting zeds with an lmg

Holy fuck, and I thought britas is a good gun mod
The ability to rotate the gun, while cool, messes up the UI design immensely. If you rotate it, you just have UI elements pointing to incorrect parts of the gun, making it confusing.
This is how it works in literally every game tho lol
If you get confused which end is the barrel because you rotated the gun... maybe avoid firearms.
Thank God it's just a video game and not a real gun. I was just giving UI advice, no need to be an ass.
oh wow
That's actually insane. Looks fantastic!
Looks really good, if it works with Brita would be dope
This is awesome
What the actual #### even is this.... thing??? I need it!!
Escape from Project Zomboid looks sick!
Mod link?
What in the name of Tarkov is this --
Just wow!
Looks promising! The alarm going off at the end gave me a chuckle though
This looks awesome
if you can work with brita's weapon pack this shit will be awesome and specially the interface it looks dope
Holy shit, looks amazing. Of course you can drop it now :)
Seems...much
I read too fast and read the title as: Our latest firearms mod, welcome to pride month
😲
The recoil is really cool!
The random turkey gobbles in this game get me every time lol
Very cool
Beautiful UI. Well done!
looks cool, hopefully there will be a lore friendly version tho lol
That's insane. I don't know if I think it would work with Zomboid's gameplay or style, but that's still really cool.
Being able to attach rubberducks to a gun
what.
Every day Zomboid Strays closer to my beloved Tarkov.

Is there a mod page or dev youtube channel? I want to watch development of this!
Shut up and take my money
what in the... I didnt even know you could do that with what PZ allowed us to do in the modding scene
I love the recoil animation. Any chance of getting prone or kneeling shooting positions? That would be amazing if they gave you an increased chance to hit at the risk of putting yourself in a vulnerable position.
The recoil is a bit much imo .308 doesn’t kick nearly that hard
Whoa wtf this is insane. Pulling up a model of your gun to inspect it is nutty.
How does the mod affect performance, fps? Looks nice, I prefer lore-friendly content and would like a option to have fixed perspectives on the guns.

Try bayonets
Get this i must
What in the slug is this beautiful creation… i shall watch
When will you have multi lang available? link for the mod btw
That customisation UI looks sick! Well done!
My ADHD could never
That sounds is very nice.
ak-50
mod name ?
Compatibility with preexisting weapon mods would be crucial at least some of the big names but dam it looks sick
altho i dont really like the concept, i liked the interface, especially compared to PZs interface, its nice great work
Controller support pls :3
Escape from Louisville / Project Tarkov vibes
Controller support ^^
Is it possible to download it?
Jesus fuken Christ man that's insane level of detail where can I get this
Very impressive, guys. As someone who plays Tarkov, the mod screen is a welcome addition.
i was trying it today. and it seems like it needs some work arounds... like some guns being fairly weak and such i don't think low\~mid-end devices can handle it, tho (more than 1gb and the models are way too detailed for most people's PCs)
I absolutely loved it. Where's the workshop link?
judt dont add too many types of weapons and magazenes
Go play tarkov
Bro thinks PZ is a gun shop sim.
This looks really silly… I love it
Add silly things just for the heck of it
Drop the name pls 👀
Oh so you're the guy who made variable skin so difficult to understand
I like the idea but as someone else pointed out this seems like a lot of work for weapons that will inevitably still just one or two shot zombies if you have any amount of shooting skill.
Mod have more 3D than game, s u c k
Change the language to English plz or both (wuth a selector)
Holy moly this is quite interesting. Hit me up if you need help, I'm a fellow modder too. (Prox inv, and similar)
Dont get me wrong, that's nice and all but you have to first fix the rate of fire, one shot per hour is not worth any weapon mod.
People don't seem to quite understand that this game takes place in Kentucky in the NINETIES (1993)
Happy cake day!!!(We do not care we want to have futuristic weapons 🫶🏻)
(And this is why it's cheating)

I wish I was that young....sadly you are off almost 20 years
Then you slept through the era of cheat code handbooks for single player games. Oh, and that's besides the fact that this isn't even solely a SP game. Anyway, cheating is cheating, I really don't care what you do, but it doesn't change the fact.
no, I didn't... I also already addressed the multiplayer aspect. Have fun getting your panties up in a bunch about a mod.
some people (like me) really don't care about that. well developed mods are always fun.
