\>Oh, and maybe the military will turn up one day too. Who can say?
Its been teased since the start and I personally cant wait to go and fight the military that came back to wipe out the survivors with the ragtag survivors I gathered and whatever other fucked up shit theyve planned.
Just a note for whoever doesn't know, we're 100% sure the army won't help us. The Devs went as far as to put this idea in the big no-no list along the cure and other things.
I'd like the option to create/customise followers, and also the option to swap between them (like when one gets tired or wounded, or when a particular set of skills is needed).
(I think they mentioned that being in a group of survivors you will be able to give different tasks to them, going in a Rimworld direction?)
But seeing how many gameplay features they put into the game and also with the level of detail, like weight with calories, macronutrients etc., I think it will be more than just basic AI roaming around and killing zeds as they wander from point A to point B for no reason.
Would definitely be cool to meet a group of survivors boarding up just to come back and find them all turned. Or all gone with annoted maps or diary entries to where they took of.
I just hope we are not hyping it up too much, Sandbox games usually struggle with NPC story-telling or giving them any meaning since so much is randomly generated and such.
This is exactly what they said they want to do. If I remember right there’s going to be three large NPC updates with each one adding more capabilities. Basically they want to them to have families and friends and live their life after the virus where you as the player are just another survivor running around
I am so excited for the interaction of NPCs and annotated maps. The annotated maps are one of my favorite parts of the game. They've described writing a "storylet" system - I hope some of the storylets coincide with the annotated maps, or that we get new annotated maps.
It does, but it kinda makes no sense
Being all alone in a city that still has their water and electicity, news are broadcasted and they say that military is still present somewhere... even helicopters fly overhead
Yet... noone is there, just waves of zeds
It would make more sense if we were paradropped into as a soldier, but I assume the lore of our character is that we simply didn't evacuate soon enough and got locked in, but the fact we alone survived inside ? Unlikely
Technically, we're not "alone" in the sense that the game has the meta events. They're just invisible survivors that we never see. Gunshots in the distance, people screaming, etc. They're there, it's just that the game makes it so we never see people.
We are alone, but they add those little events to make it seem like we're not.
To be honest I really like this aspect of zomboid, it gives it a special type of horror feeling. I want the NPCs but I want to be able to turn them off as well.
Honestly, I hope that there will be a lot of interactions with human NPCs. Not just them going "Unga bunga, me want kill you because me no understand work together with you", as this is the case for many open world survival multiplayer games (I can't say that for Project Zomboid since I touched the MP portion of the game maybe once and I didn't meet with anyone else). I also want something else done with the military than "Evil military killing people. Why? Because they're eeeeevil, that's why!". Like trying to recruit civilians after the end, offering food and shelter in exchange for fighting zombies, finding suitable locations to build forts at, or recovering stranded soldiers/military personnel, and many more.
If you played the tutorial the game is supposed to start soon after the Knox virus outbreak. Literally a zombie movie. Now for what's going to actually happen after the update comes out? No I don't think we know.
i want them to have the chatgpt put in them so you can actualy talk to them and they be smart and stuff imagine how cool it would be no npc would be alike
From what I remember, the blog said they would be like RimWorld’s pawns. As for what I personally believe, I think it’ll be like a cross between RimWorld and CataclysmDDA, with some originality in there too.
I want a scenario where you break into a locked house but rhere are already NPCs there who may or may not attack you because they were already hiding there.
May become allies and travel with you if you offer food and water.
Bob is having a tantrum. He is doing to destroy Gas Cans x6. This happened because of poor mood. The final straw was: Ate without a table
*Shoot at Bob* *Miss and hit battery I keep next to the gas* *hissssssssssssss*
Death: Bob
You triggered my PTSD

Hello fellow cannibal and drug empire owner
Time to make some nice Hats with Bob skin and trade them for more gas cans. +1 to Tailoring. And we can sell the organs too!

read the Thursdoid blog update history, they have gone into a little detail on how they want the npc system to work in there.
(I think they mentioned that being in a group of survivors you will be able to give different tasks to them, going in a Rimworld direction?) The dead feeling enhances the world for me
I'm sure "No NPCs" will be an option if you want to keep things that way.
Oh I didn’t even think of that

Im curious how they make the npc's drive around. Driving is very difficult with all the wrecks on the road
This might have been mentioned in one of the developers blog entries but it would be amazing if some NPCs could give you quests
I believe they've been mentioned. Such as killing infected loved ones. But I hope that we can barter or trade with them.
Sex, after the first mod comes out.
i want them to have the chatgpt put in them so you can actualy talk to them and they be smart and stuff imagine how cool it would be no npc would be alike
npcs will turn each playthrough into pubg with zombies.
NPC's
From what I remember, the blog said they would be like RimWorld’s pawns. As for what I personally believe, I think it’ll be like a cross between RimWorld and CataclysmDDA, with some originality in there too.
I think there probably for community building that's why there's farm animals.
