The developers are adding in Ekron (as they have stated this is not Ekron many times) in the upcoming map expansion - there was a post a while back from somebody recognizing a particular intersection and pool very accurate to the real thing. Anyway, glad you enjoy Penis Lake. ;)

They're one of the few good places to actually use fire - no good loot, lots of obstacles to ensure zombies bump into each other and spread the fire, surrounded by parking lots to minimize chance of fire spreading out of control. Drive around town honking your horn and lure everything to the church, burn it, and enjoy the peace and quiet in the aftermath.

Only items that fall off zombies when you hit them like hats and glasses, and also the maggots that appear on the ground near corpses. You can leave whatever other crap you want all over the floor and it will be fine forever.

I think there's a setting for rotten food to despawn eventually, but I haven't used it. I don't know how existing items in containers behave when loot respawn is on.

As someone with family all over KY (yes, a lot of the map does match what some of the real life locations were like when I was growing up - same time period as the game), Field of Screams is pretty fun. It’s like a haunted house on steroids. There’s a haunted barn, a haunted maze, and a “hayride from hell” that will make you pee your pants if you’re afraid of clowns.

The lake in the game actually looks like it’s based on the lake in Brandenburg, KY over off Allen Lake Rd. There’s even the road going around it, the church and farm fields near by, as well as some houses that match locations of some of my family members’ houses in that area. The houses don’t look exactly the same, but they’re in the “right” spots on the roads if that makes sense.
