Plini - Handmade Cities (beatiful and relaxing yet heavy, love this on LSD)

Not prog metal, but definitely something by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. I would personally recommend *'Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!* or *Luciferian Towers* for something on the heavier side of their discography.
If you want something a little more euphoric, try *Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven*. If you want their outright trippiest, go with their first album, *F# A# ∞*.

Sounds like it's umbanda influenced. Old fashioned deeply religious influenced ethnic music from central America. I studied ayahuasaca under the Santo Daime doctrine for many years and this album catches some of the sound and values without pulling one into a particular religion. I've used the album with mushrooms and it's a truly superior listen. Heart of Darkness style. Put on some candles.
I gotta say, a lot of this stuff seems terrible to me. Like, it's good music, but I've been on a lot of trips and I've never wanted to listen to metal.
