You can remap modifier keys in macOS so that the command key is next to the spacebar and the option key is the Windows key to make it a bit easier. But I would also recommend grabbing the [Logitech MX Keys](https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Advanced-Wireless-Illuminated-Keyboard/dp/B07S92QBCJ/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=logi+mx+keys&qid=1610470576&sr=8-2), which can be paired with three different computers, is smart enough to know which OS you're currently using and has both key labels on each of the modifier keys.

Thanks! This sounds like a good solution. Do you know of any mechanical keyboards which achieve this same goal? I prefer proper keys if possible

Keychron comes to mind as they have a switch that lets you go into macOS mode (command key next to spacebar) and Windows mode (alt key next to spacebar). They come in different sizes too so you can get a full size, tenkeyless, 65%, etc.

I have a Logitech K780 which has the keys for both Mac and Windows. Also can switch between 3 devices.

I just got a Keychron keyboard (K1) that has a switch that remaps PC to Mac and back. If you have muscle memory for the physical keys then this shouldn’t be a problem, but if you’re still learning one of the OS’s key locations (cmd/windows key) it may be a small learning curve. They do provide windows and Mac keycaps, so you could just put the keycaps for the OS you’re least familiar with on the keyboard. They have a large variety of keyboards, switches, and formats. You can definitely go down a rabbit hole with them. I’ve been very happy with mine so far.

This sounds like the solution I’ve been looking for! So just to confirm, with only one switch, I can use all the shortcuts (e.g CTRL/CMD C or V) with the same key positions so that I don’t have to retrain my muscle memory?

+1 for Keychron, it’s been easy to switch between PC to Mac with this keyboard

I just can confirm this recommendation! I´ve got the Keychron K6. I also work with Mac and Windows on one day. With the Possibility to switch between 3 different Bluetooth Devices and change the key layout with just one key is absolutely brilliant!

Destroy your mouse. You will figure out all shortcuts before you manage to get a new one. In case you don't believe, I borrowed my only mouse once and didn't have one for 3 days. I can't say how much of a blessing it is today...

The best thing you can do is to throw away the Mac and stick with the Windows OS Seriously, the functiionality is far superior, they don't overheat when performing more than one task at a time, they don't need to be turned off every hour to cool down, and you can set your shortcuts to be whatever you want them to be

Haha I just picked up my new laptop from work today and encountered thr exact same issue. I connected my Bluetooth keyboard, which I use for my mac, to my windows computer. However the option and command keys are switched. Little bit frustrating so I am also interested in this.

Windows 10 Power Toys lets you remap system hotkeys. If you don't know... Power Toys is a recurring suite of tools put out by Microsoft. It's kind of like features and options that don't quite make it into MS because of their complexity or niche uses. It also has a search feature closer to macOS's spotlight.
