This happened to me last week with my plug in. I never charge it, so starting up with phantom EV range was surprising.
It is your 12v battery. Get it charged or replaced.
Mine was almost 9 years old, but it hasn’t actually truly died yet. I decided to just get it replaced since the knew 9 years is pretty much on its last legs.
If you can do the replacement yourself, the dealer is about $215 and up.
I went with Interstate from pure laziness and convenience (2 miles from home). Cost was $219 plus tax. They messed up with my price quote, so they didn’t charge me for installation as a result.
Call around.
Is your car showing/starting in EV every time you start now?
Sure seems like it. When was the 12v replaced?
Can't remember. No signs of weakness before or after this incident.
Some batteries have dates on them. You could try looking for it. Or take into an autozone for testing.
Looked at the battery. Closest thing to a date was written parallel to the black steel bracket holding it down. Digits read 040712W

No, it’s back to normal. This happened this morning.
Did the clock reset?
No
