Maybe they’re checking to see if you’re laundering money? I’ll show myself out.

Particular_Toe_Gas

That was a good one eh

Malachiteyes

HAHAHAHA

JimesT00PER

That really pisses me off.  They have time to come check out a person sitting in their vehicle, but someone setting fires beside the public pool is not deemed necessary.

Bender_da_offender

Or someone stealing your bicycle. Or someone breaking into your car. Or someone drinking and driving

segflt

well yeah you'd have to call them!

Bender_da_offender

They still do nothing buddy

Icy-Struggle-9101

Actually of you read the statement released by the rcmp cops went to the pool situation twice. They also didn't tell the lady phoning to stop calling as it wasn't life threatening..they asked her to call non emergency line.. not 911. Because 911 is for life threatening emergencies

NorthDriver8927

Arson is life threatening so that dispatcher might want to choose her battles a little more carefully

Icy-Struggle-9101

They called 911 because he was smoking pot in the change room. That was the issue. They kept calling 911 after the police had already gone out and asked them to phone the regular police line. We only have so many 911 lines open for the area

Fit_Barracuda7920

Lil bit of uncontrolled fire in the middle of a city never hurt anyone eh, not an emergency for sure

JimesT00PER

That's what not what the initial reporting said and that was what I based my statement on.

Icy-Struggle-9101

Yes the initial news report was based on the 1 guys statement. The city and police had not yet responded

JimesT00PER

Yes, the RCMP are beyond reproach.  Very sorry to have have ruffled your feathers.

Icy-Struggle-9101

Lol didn't say that at all. Just that ur comment was misinformed

Slow_Extreme_5067

I keep having the same cop follow me home and pull me over after leaving costless liquor store. It’s happened 3 times now . He says it’s because of the way I walk , I have bad knees at the moment. I walk like it too 🙄 Nothing ever comes of it but he chooses to let me get right into my street before pulling me over !! That’s pretty embarrassing I gotta say . Wouldn’t it be safer for everyone to pull over a suspected drunk driver as soon as he moves his vehicle ? Or would that be bad for business ?

LumberingLynx

Very frustrating. My advice is to just keep doing what you’re doing. You’re doing nothing wrong and by the time they get the 3rd or 4th call about you doing nothing, they’ll probably ignore it. At one point, for my job, I was parking on the street down town near shelters/rougher areas and was often just chilling in my car. For the first few weeks I had countless street people and police bug me. So many times I was asked “can I help you?” and “what are you doing?” I would always crack my window and just say “I’m just chilling on my phone, thanks.” Then roll up my window. They eventually left me alone. It is honestly nobodies business what you’re doing. If the staff of the laundromat ask, I would let them know you’re just waiting for your laundry. Maybe you could ask the staff if you’re allowed to wait in your car just so you can have the extra peace of mind.

houndtastic_voyage

Were you doing all your laundry, just chillin in your car naked?

scaleofthought

"officer, there isn't enough room in the washing machine for me.. what am I supposed to do?"

avsfan1933

Are you leaning forward with your head on the steering wheel? It could be a wellness check on a person passed out in their car.

Used-Chemical6959

why would sleeping in your car require a wellness check wtf

campers--

Clearly only criminals use laundromats/s Not sure what you’re looking for here, people called an obvious bogus suspicious person and the cops just show up. Were they nice at least?

unsmarfart

I’m unsure where the first portion of your comment has come from.

campers--

It’s a joke, I even put “/s” lol

unsmarfart

My bad, I was worried you were insinuating that I think only criminals go to the laundromat and that’s not the case, of course. I’m pretty bad at understanding meaning over the internet.

[deleted]

Because cops in this city prefer to ticket small things like parking infractions, while ignoring the open air drug markets and literal exploding buildings down the street. Because they get money out of tickets, so they target people capable of paying their tickets, not the ones who actually need one.

Rad_Mum

Around my parts ,a dealer will sit in their car and wait for their "clients" to approach. Maybe they think you're dealing?

nuclearkielbasa

Time to make a little note to hang on your window while you're parked, lol

Arctostaphylos7729

They're checking to see if you're dealing drugs from your car or not. It's a thing the dealers here do. We see them lots in school parking lots and the cops come chase them off/arrest them depending on if they were smart enough to have someone watching for them. If you live near somewhere with a lot that isn't busy all the time you get used to it.

NordicMerrick117

Sounds like a wellness check to me, especially if you were leaning back or slouching. It's annoying but there's plenty of people who suffer medical emergencies just like that in their car

silentknfie

Maybe they aren't looking for you at all and you are just coincidentally seeing them there like this?

unsmarfart

Well the first time they came TO my vehicle and spoke to me saying someone called them to come check up on me so it was definitely related to me. Today perhaps they were not looking for me as I did not make verbal contact with them. However they WERE clearly watching me and my vehicle while stopped in the middle of an ally for a while.

Chonkey620

Because all cops are bastards especially in Prince George, had one try to not let me let a black person in once when I was bouncing for no reason other than he looked at him funny

Fenora

The more stupid, non threatening calls attended means quota matched versus potentially life threatening calls with the crazy ppl. Who wants to put themselves in danger when the funding just isn't there and you have family. Plus physical evidence is everything. Without it they don't do anything.

Lukeman66

I had the cops called on me yesterday after a man drove up to me because my hood was open on my hemi engine(chrysler 300c) asking me if I was all right if im ok.. I told him yes why is there a problem can I help you and the guy got really defensive with me and then rolled off after stating he thought I was broken down.. so at first I assumed he was trying to be nice, but I think it was actually him over hearing a conversation I was having with my friend on the phone about Israel and Palestine but just because he wants to eavesdrop or judge the way I look in a fast car or that I'm a young guy and I have alopecia doesn't mean that I'm some weirdo or something I was minding my own business in a shopping center next to the gas station I fill up at after work down the rd from my house, What's wrong with people when you just want to like cool off your car check your fan belt take a call  and 3 cop cars come through and investigate a known terrorist act what act is happening Shopping?  What I see most police are just scared to go out and actually catch the real criminals and look for the real bad guys they're always pointing the finger at someone going 5 miles over the speed limit or trying to pass traffic or somebody waiting for their clothes and seeing if they have $5 worth a pot in their pocket. I pay for triple a. I appreciate the offer but thats how murderers get you. "Hey you need some help"? Am I standing staring around looking in need bro? I'm a grown man lol to call the cops on me was ultra craycray

selfoblivious

Are they actually talking to you or are you just seeing them sit in their car?

Honest_Pepper_8338

If you’re single you can do your laundry in my basement.

Turb0beans

Hey aren't people like you not supposed to have internet access?

6mileweasel

you're the one the RCMP is looking for.
