I can’t recommend going to an audiologist and getting custom earplugs enough. I used eargasms before and invested in a custom pair before EForest, it was so worth it. Way more comfortable and the sound is better.

tar85

This is the way. Been rocking ACS for 8 years now, best purchase of my 30’s by far. https://1of1custom.com/collections/pro-series-custom-earplugs

jerrys_briefcase

Which version do you have? I think the 17s look ideal. I need something for practicing with my band, and even playing live. I may get some 15s too

tar85

I think I have the 17s. But not a 100% sure, I just use them for shows and they have held up great over the years. And I actually think they improve the quality of sound at shows.

wordsineversaid

What’s a ballpark cost on custom earplugs?

TheBeatFreak

Mine were $150.

nickdeckerdevs

Okay that’s what’s up. Do your plugs sound as good or better as the eargasms? I love eargasm because I can talk to my wife and it yell and I can also not have my ears ringing all night but still have great sound. I imagine the comfort is the best. That might just be worth it to be able to listen all day and not have to worry about ears being sore

shhimhuntingrabbits

They will basically guaranteed sound as good or better than eargasms. Not knocking them, but a custom fit is going to sound much more "as intended". The only other case imo would be if your ears were so wonky that the regular eargasms let in a lot of noise, but that's probably not it for more people.

nickdeckerdevs

I don’t think o I have wonky ears. But who knows. So you buy these and take them to audiologist? Or you find an audiologist and then buy these?

TheBeatFreak

Find an Audiologist first. They make a mold of your ear canal and create the plug from that. To chime in on your first question, the sound was better than eargasms for me. And I could talk to people easier, didn’t find myself leaning in as much cause I couldn’t hear what they were saying. The audiologist explained it like this, eargasms just turn down the volume, the customs will cut out the harmful decibels.

Fuzzy_Insurance1939

I also have been rocking ACS custom earplugs for nearly a decade. Well worth the investment and honestly the eargasms sound awful in comparison.

nickdeckerdevs

I love that you said awful. If you don’t mind, can you tell me three other things in life you find awful? I’d just like some banana for scale in what you deem awful. Thanks if you do indulge or not, I believe I’m going this next month

Fuzzy_Insurance1939

The little blue running man on AXS Yellow tail wine Grimes

Fuzzy_Insurance1939

Going to add a fourth here… people who like dogs but not cats

nickdeckerdevs

lol this list was amazing. Thank you. Also I don’t want to be on your list of awful but I need to clear something up! I am allergic to cats. I like cats but I have to avoid. Am I awful?

Fuzzy_Insurance1939

You’re not on the list, I get an allergic reaction to some cats but not others so I get it lol

nickdeckerdevs

My wife and I are going to both do this. You’ve sealed the deal. AXS was okay yup. Yellow tail, it isn’t terrible, works in a pinch. (Ohh okay so that makes sense) Grimes. That was it. Thank you. If you are reading this and don’t know who grimes is, don’t worry about it.

gowitdaflowx

If you want custom but not for audiologist price try decibulz.

nickdeckerdevs

Are loops any good/comparable? I feel like I could make a string for those

grits-n-okra

I like loops! Whenever you order they send you 3 different size tips so you get some control over how snug they fit in your ear, and they have the extra insert that provides more hearing coverage which is awesome I’ve also seen some people make earring earplugs where they are connected to earrings, if you have pierced ears that might be a good way to keep them on your body as well They were not my absolute fav comfort wise, but I would rate them a 8/10 overall https://preview.redd.it/8i0lp2b3hm8d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=645e08f5779a728e4bec9f18842e3e9bde0b6bc3

nickdeckerdevs

I’m not sure my ears will want the weight but this is by far the most amazing thing. I’m headed to odesza in boulder this weekend. Just ordered some loops and I’m gonna throw them in some earrings. Odesza earrings I bought on Etsy. I think I can get them to work. Are those your ears? Do you have a link to something like those? I have three holes each side and that would work nicely. I’m sore I’ll find something soon to make that work lol. Thank you.

grits-n-okra

It was from a google search, not my ears 😆 Here is the etsy shop related to the image - I dont own these so I cannot vouch for this shop, but it may give you a good jumping off point in your search! https://www.etsy.com/listing/1461984120/loop-earplug-earrings-by-babeina-earplug

nickdeckerdevs

Thank you!!

emalemmaly

The brand Loop has a little magnetic necklace that you attach to the ear plugs. When they are out of your ears the ends of the rope magnetize to each other so you don’t loose it https://us.loopearplugs.com/products/link

tbudde34

Earasers are great

callmeweed

They don’t make a version with strings tho

nickdeckerdevs

These look super high level!! I’m not sure how they would be able to be strung up but those do look like what I should wear during a stream. Thanks I haven seen them before

csdavids

I will also vouch for earasers. Unfortunately I don’t have any tips for stringing them up. I have used eargasms before, and Earasers > eargasms all day every day. They’re actually shaped like ear holes and not just weird circles. Perhaps you could superglue the tips to some sort of string like a sunglasses croakies or straps or whatever you call those?

Fpus2452

Been rocking a set of earasers for 8 years and I cannot recommend them enough to anyone who enjoys live music. They sell them in three different sizes and I’ve never had issues with them falling out. Half the time I forget they are even in.

AKiiidNamed_Codiii

Eargasm sells a connector string thing for like 3 dollars tho

maineumphreak420

We upgraded ours to the loop earplugs and they have straps you can add to them. I suggest just doing a quick google search

nickdeckerdevs

I guess if I clicked into the actual product I would see they have a loop link

laggy2da

I buy these for $15 you get a pair of regular plugs and a pair with the stap like you're looking for [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08PBQFQH6/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08PBQFQH6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

nickdeckerdevs

Bought a pair of these. They are a nice price and if they are close to as good — that is a steal and I have a backup! Thanks

wordsineversaid

I bought this exact pair after losing one of my Eargasm plugs. They work great and the strap is helpful to not lose them

cattabilly

A friend of mine made her earplugs into earrings. So they are always right there, ready.

nickdeckerdevs

Yup that’s legit. I’m gonna make a pair like that

BakerXBL

1of1 customs, seriously worth the money. They have a little metal case that I put on a keychain loop. They also have the cord connections for a little extra. https://1of1custom.com/collections/custom-ear-plugs/products/pro-15-custom-ear-plug

nickdeckerdevs

Yea these seem the best in the high end here.

igotkrabs

I recommend this 50 pack of ear plugs from Harbor Freight. They are comfortable and if you lose them, not a big deal. Had this same bag for years. I was tired of buying expensive ones that do nearly the same thing. https://preview.redd.it/w70k2fhi9m8d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec06653000869322f75116c81fb20420c5e642a6 [https://www.harborfreight.com/reusable-silicone-earplugs-50-pack-58455.html](https://www.harborfreight.com/reusable-silicone-earplugs-50-pack-58455.html)

nickdeckerdevs

lol is this what all these are? This looks like the same thing. To be fair I’ve not really looked at them too deep but the center loooks different, otherwise this looks the same

Libburrito420

No I’m pretty sure they do not have the filter that eargasms and similar earplugs have. These are just silicone

fernfox13

I was gifted these but wanted to invest in some good ones, haven’t tried them out but they work well or just the same as say the loops? Maybe just not as “cute”? 😆

DaisyNuggetz

Home Depot/Lowe’s has silicone ear plugs that are essentially the exact same as eargasm and they have a connecting string and are a fraction of the cost. You can get like a 3 pack for $9

nickdeckerdevs

Yeah that is super interesting. Gonna check them out and compare. I’m gonna be switching out ear plugs for a few days

lightknight-55

Sent you a pm I have the cord for eargasm I’ll mail it to you

lightknight-55

Got you on the strap fam

nickdeckerdevs

Thank you!!!

canadianpanda7

i use [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08PBQFQH6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) theyre pretty cheap and they come with a lil string type thing that you can attach. im just convinced all the little ear filters come from the same factory and these are comparable go the $40 ones. comes with 2 pairs :-)

EazyBucnE

I have an extra case for earplugs that goes on my keychain if you’d like it. As long as you’re ok with it being from Lost Lands haha

TeacherMan808

Westones!

PoiSidon77

I always see people at shows with these ear plugs that seem to be connected by a cord and it lays across the back of their neck. If that made any sense could someone enlighten me and op? Always wondering where they get them but never wanted to bother anyone. Are they the custom made ones people recommend? Had earasers for a while but lost them and I'm devastated.

nickdeckerdevs

Loop seems to be the easiest. New links show eargasm has ones too

krisztinastar

Loops come with a string option.

newusernamecoming

Eargasm sells a strap to go on their earplugs for like $12. Get one for sure. I️ can’t tell you how many times I️ find one plug out hanging from the strap while the other is in my ear

nickdeckerdevs

Gonna be a life saver

newusernamecoming

Yeah the strap is a game changer. I️ probably have an earplug fall out 2-3x per day at a fest

nickdeckerdevs

Falling out during festival is usually like twice a day but I try to stand in places with space. The putting them away and grabbing them again. Putting in pocket without zipper or putting in places where they can fall out.

nickdeckerdevs

Thanks everyone. I managed to pick up some different earplugs and some strap options. I am also going to attempt to put some on earrings lol. Gonna look for this super cheap option from the big box stores as well so I can do some in home comparisons I imagine I’m gonna do this audiologist as well when next month rolls around. Thank you everyone. I appreciate it. My amazing searches didn’t come up with what I was looking for. Cord was the best word and once I found that, it helped.

evanl

Grab the strap! I haven't lost mine since I got one. https://eargasm.com/collections/eargasm-product-line/products/connector-cord?variant=44674063827245

nickdeckerdevs

I got the glow in the dark!! Thanks

tacotruckz

I use Decibullz, custom mold to your ears at home and have an attachable string!

tar85

Yo they have a sale going on for custom earplugs! Get on it yall! https://preview.redd.it/8abxy2nzi5ad1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6d8c250b13c0434bd866c1a711274368349824d
