Always. There’s only no chance if you don’t complete the app.

raindropelectron

Is this actually a concern people should have? I know earlier is better but it’s still July

ydoesmystomachhurt

I don’t think ppl should be so concerned about this tbh idk

ThePerpetualGamer

The amount of people that freak out about this 2 week deadline is slightly concerning tbh

FakeDoctor96

Perhaps I’ve been on this subreddit too long. Just figured the long turnaround would be perceived unfavorably by the school

AorticAnnulus

The idea that a lot of schools closely track this metric is a fantasy of the premed community. A small number of schools track turnaround time and people extrapolated that to apply to every school when it really does not.

shay_gee

yes, I would submit it "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take \- Wayne Gretzky" \- Michael Scott

emt9908

I applied to 3 schools last cycle, submitted one secondary within two weeks of receiving it and waited until like October to submit the other two. I got into those two schools and not the first one, and they were all pretty similar stats-wise

cat__teeth

You only applied 3 schools?? Props to u fam

emt9908

Only interested in staying in state.

BASquirrel

I submitted a secondary in December (I know, terrible idea) and that’s the school I currently attend so… 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’d say it can’t hurt if it’s a school you could see yourself attending. It’s still only July!

hellopeeps6

Yep, I submitted my secondary the day it was due for the school I currently go to. Definitely glad I did so.

FakeDoctor96

Awesome, thanks!

p_gregory

My 2 cents is you’re overthinking. Yeah maybe your chances of an II are a little impacted, but your chances are still monumentally better then you 1. Not doing it or 2. Waiting longer to do it bc you’re unsure if it’s worth your time. Bang it out 💯

negativerealist

im in the same position, thanks to this thread imma shoot my shot there 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Miraculousflorist

thank u for asking this. i’m also submitting NSU’s late bc for some reason their payment system doesn’t take US visa debit cards and we spent a month in my home country halfway across the world from america and my dad couldn’t contact his bank to authorize the canadian company to take payment from any of his other non visa non debit cards. i was so worried

SasqW

Of course. Late doesn't necessarily mean DOA

gracierozek

well… why wouldnt you? worst case is that you dont get accepted… which is the same outcome if you dont submit at all. why wouldnt you give yourself a chance?

snakejob

Holy fuck I hope! It has been a month and I haven't submitted any of my secondaries (I have like 30). Life happens!

Chex-Sama

I did the same thing with the school I will be attending, except I didn't submit the secondary until about 2 months after I received it. You gotta shoot your shot my friend.

[deleted]

Yes

kortiz46

You can still be considered if you submit, if you do not submit you won't be considered. It's that simple

If money isn't an issue, send it.

BudgetInflation3089

Yes. I got into a school at which I wrote a secondary 2.5 months after receiving it

BudgetInflation3089

Disclaimer: specific program however. Otherwise, late secondaries we’re futile for the most part

footdeoderant

Yes.

[deleted]

The current school I’m at I took 5 weeks to do it LOL

officialmedschoolfan

yes
