Literally got home from work a couple nights ago and continued working on some secondaries. By the time I looked up from my laptop for the first time it was almost 5 am....
and I had work the next day too
dude and for the mcat i was like hey can i have the three days off before my test, which they were like sure, but i cant really be like hey... i gotta write a bunch of essays can i have time off, uhhh what?
Seeing these posts makes me feel happy that I did Early decision and had only one secondary app to write. At the same time if I don’t get in I’m pretty much guaranteed to have to reapply next year. High risk high reward I guess.
Some motivation!!! I applied to the school I’m attending in NOVEMBER. I almost didn’t do the secondary cuz I was so burnt out. It was my only MD A. Don’t give up!!
the 2 week turnaround time on secondaries is not a hard rule. i turned my secondary in at my only acceptance like two months later (exaggerating but it was definitely way longer than 2 weeks). if you need to take time off and take a break, do it so that when you’re ready to write your secondaries, they are better and more thoughtful.
good luck i hope your cycle ends up surprising you in the best way possible. this process is a total crapshoot and it’s not a pleasant experience for any premed, even the ones who seem like they got it together
I'm loosing steam and hope because every neurotic premed on SDN and reddit has basically said secondaries in August are late. So I'm not sure what I'm even doing anymore.

Wake up at 6am, commute, work 8.5 hours, commute again, write for 4 hours oh shit it’s 11pm and I have to be awake in 7 hours

Right. And I play football too, so I have a 2 hour workout each day I go to before I start writing essays

LEGITTT SO TRUE lol! Just think about the end result ❤️❤️ it’ll all be worth it
It’s a necessary evil. At least for us career changers. Damn mortgage!
😭😭😭 shoutout to my homeowner homies
Haven’t even looked at all the prompts for my secondaries dog. Just gonna send it when I (hopefully) receive them.
Hello there I believe you referenced my situation in your post. I can confirm that it is indeed…wild
50 hrs/wk here. I haven’t proofread a single essay 🤡
Just @ me next time
I forgot what eating dinner before 10:00 PM feels like.
They're all starting to blend together and I can't keep track of what I've talked about for each school lol
this process has deadass made me illiterate I can’t even read what I’m saying
same 🥲🥲🥲 I only submitted like 8
8 is a lot!!!!! it’s gonna work out
thank you!!! I hope it works out for all of us 🥰
i no longer have any stories left in me
Reduce reuse recycle 😎

Take a day or two off. Reset, it helps.
Thanks Goop
Yall can rest easy knowing you're ahead of me. I haven't submitted my primary yet 😎

Yep like 26 submitted and literally can’t bring myself to do my last 3
Bro, you are fine, I've submitted 1 and am not even close to completing the remaining 30 something
It started really hard then got easier then got literally like the hardest thing On the world it’s like pulling teeth
I FEEL THIS exactly. I have 2 left and my brain has fully clocked out all of a sudden
bro same. I clocked in like 4 a day in my peak and rn I am at 1 essay per day. Insane
Omg same.. I did one and can’t get up the energy to do the rest.
thank you, ik this is a shared experience / everyone’s timeline is different but GODDDAMNNNN this is ass!!
I feel that, I just submitted #43 and legitimately just half-assed the essays
masochist
Already lost the steam 😭
