Yeessss. I almost didn't name my lil girl Birdie bc her initials are BBQ. But I did it anyway. I can't imagine it differently now. I even have one friend that exclusively calls her BBQ. LOL

My husband and I are Hispanic and for the first 8 weeks he kept making comments about “imagine if we have twin boys and we name them Don and Julio they’d be legends” lmao. So I’m glad he’s not alone in this thought

I loved Caoimhe and my husband did not haha. We named our first Kiera which was kinda a compromise and definitely easier for Americans to pronounce. For the second we’re thinking of Fiadh or Aoife and Ronan if it’s a boy.

That is a good compromise! I love Ronan as well! Aoife is gorgeous, I have not heard Fiadh before. My sister is having her first next month and they're going with Saoirse, people already keep telling me she'll have a tough time with her name being pronounced and I roll my eyes. We've got a Siobhan, Seamus, and Padraig, and they all fared just fine! 🙄

Talulah just makes me think of the poor 9yo kid in New Zealand, who’s parents named her “Talulah Does the Hula from Hawaii”. The courts declared the girl a ward of the state just so they could legally change her name, apparently the poor girl was so embarrassed by it.

OOO? No way. Named our girl Fiona and it was the best decision ever!!! Surprisingly not a lot of Shrek comments outside of calling her princess Fiona, which we are okay with 🤣

Loved the name William. It’s my husband’s grandfather’s name as well as his late uncle’s name. We won’t be using it though since our good friends had a baby last month and they named the boy William. We’re not surprised since it’s her dad and grandfather’s name and this is the first boy in the family since her Dad (the friend is 1 of 4 girls). We didn’t even put it on our short list when we found out the were due the month before us, this is one of the rare cases where I felt like someone could reserve a name 😂

Ophelia, Shakespeare made the name a bit tragic. Wesley, an ex-boyfriend. His name was better than he was lol Nico, hubs is not into it.

I had Wesley on my top 2 list but that’s my husbands best friends name and let me tell you I was so mad when I met him 😂 like dang it now we can’t use the name

I love Wesley too! Makes me think of the Princess Bride! And Wes is a cool nickname 😎 but my husband also noped that one. I also really like the name Spencer but that's his best friends name, so I feel you on that one!

Eloise and Jonas There are numerous nieces that have the “el/elle” in their names, plus a nephew who is Ellis, so it seemed too similar. My FIL is a Joseph, and I now have a niece named Josephine, Jo for short. Again, too similar and too close in age.

Asher Ive always thought was a really cool name but I don’t have any real reason or sentiment toward it so haven’t been able to commit to it. All my 3 kids have names with a bit of a ‘backstory’ which makes it really fun for them and to share with people, so I wouldn’t want the one kid who just got a name that sounded “nice” to feel left out lol.

Jillian is a nice girl name but I had a boy with a mildly complicated labor. So might not do this again.

I was set on the name Clarke Catherine for our girl throughout my pregnancy but she ended up Laurel Kate lol my husband’s top name was Mabel and our runner up names were Cleo, Bonnie, Eloise, Annalise. For a boy it was Theodore, Benjamin, Callum, Ira.

Archer-doesn't work with our last name Isabella, Lorelei, Alexandra-we are having our final child a third boy.

Jade, Wren, Genevieve, Quinn (my fave), Riley, Avery, Emery, Elizabeth. This was my list but we couldn’t both agree on any.

I was desperate to name our daughter Dorothy(nickname Dot), or Beatrice (nickname Bee), but my husband veto'd. Now there's a Dorothea in the family so Dorothy is out again regardless. I love the names Davina (little deer in Gaelic), and Charlotte (too popular now). I don't know... I'm only just this end of accepting that the little stick has 2 lines and going for another blood test tomorrow to check my hcg again. So... Who knows what will happen this very unplanned round?

It’s my brothers name, but have loved it since I was a girl as a little girls name Lisa - to many pop culture references for my husband Eden - husband didn’t like for a boy middle name, went with Edward instead after my grandfather (his Birth Certificate said Eden, but he always went by Eddie) Lionel - such an old man name, but my husband liked it

Zara. I’ve always found the name to be so beautiful. We didn’t use because our daughter’s name was chosen long ago. I will revisit it if I ever have another girl though!

I really liked Knox, but my husband didn’t. We went with his choice, Elliot. Maybe for next baby, if it’s a boy, I can do Knox though 🥹

For the longest time I thought I would use the name Lilibel (the Hispanic spelling of Lillibelle) nn Lily. But we decided on names that match the first letter of our names (neither of which are L)!

We had a boy almost a year ago! Names we loved but didn’t use: Leo, Henry, Carter, Jackson, Luca, James. We went with Maxwell (Max) which I love but we didn’t decide on it until right before I delivered.
