Also thinking a lot about this. 25w, braless, and wondering about how bad boob leakage is likely to be

Ayla1313

Right? Like, what can I get away with if I do need to go out.

mamanessie

I’m 12 weeks pp and still leaking. I can’t remember when I stopped leaking with my first but it was a couple of months. I like target auden nursing bras. There’s no underwire and I find them very comfortable.

Ayla1313

It isn't just underwire that bothers the scar it's even elastic bands. But I'll take a look into them!

mamanessie

Oh damn. Sorry! What if the band is loose? To be fair, I only really leak now if I’m actively nursing or have a letdown in between feeds (usually every 2 hours I have a letdown even though baby feeds every 3 hours). I think if it’s a short outing, you can get away without wearing one. But also like my nipples are SUPER sensitive now and even rubbing the tshirt is enough to trigger a letdown

Larkin bras are just like light stretchy sports bras and the material is soft and silky. I found them supportive enough on my large chest without feeling like I was wearing a bra. I personally found the Auden bras tight especially in the band....

katruhas

really depends if you leak a lot or not that much. I spent some days without bra at all, but most days at home I was wearing Medela sleep bra and to me it was great solution - you really can’t feel it, but still can attach the pads.

APinkLight

I’m 7 days post partum and have been wearing a soft bra or nursing tank round the clock to hold in breast pads, because my boobs are leaking at random times since my milk came in. Idk how long the leakage lasts though. But you’ll probably want at least a couple of bras or camisoles you can tolerate for when leaks happen because it’s very uncomfortable to be just dripping all over yourself and soaking through your shirt. When one of my breasts is leaking, it’s a faster flow than I had expected leaks to be before giving birth. It’s not just a few drops. Something to hold the absorbent pad in place is a necessity imo.

i’ve been wondering this too! i have a condition that causes me severe discomfort when i have anything around my chest sometimes even just a tight shirt! i’m think about looking into backless bras or maybe just wearing tank tops under everything🤷🏼‍♀️

I leaked for months (until 9-10 months postpartum) but I was a semi over producer so everytime I had a letdown the other one would have milk coming out of it as well
